Tastefully decorated, with a comfortable atmosphere, Westway House is the setting for a relaxing family vacation.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered deck while viewing the abundance of wildlife on Kidd Island Bay. You'll see ducks, osprey, Great Blue Herons, otters, beavers, wild turkey, deer, and elk.
As the day progresses, jump into your boat and experience all that the lake has to offer. With over 100 miles of shoreline available, you can spend days exploring the many bays and inlets. The lake is perfect for water skiing and wake boarding.
If you feel adventurous, you can go in search of secluded islands and spend the day swimming and enjoying a picnic. Zip across the lake (10 minutes) for an evening meal at the world-renowned Coeur d'Alene Resort, or one of the many other fine restaurants, accessible by boat.
Westway House features all the modern amenities, in a casual setting. The main floor includes a master bedroom with queen bed and private bathroom, a large open living/dining area with exposed log beams, fireplace, a queen size sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a game room, (complete with pool table and fireplace), a laundry room, and a second full bathroom. The main level also features a large partially covered deck built around a 100 year old Ponderosa Pine.
The two bedrooms on the second floor share a bathroom. One has a queen bed and the other a full-size bed. The lower level bunk room walks out to a covered deck. It is equipped with a day bed that opens up into two twin beds. The waterfront includes a dock, where you can tie up your boat or jet skis, and a fire pit for cozy evening gatherings.
Westway House is a four-season vacation paradise that begins the year with the winter ski season. Coeur d'Alene is situated within an hour of four major ski resorts which include Schweitzer Mountain and Silver Mountain, boasting its six-person gondola. In addition, you will find hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails. Attractions in late Spring include the Coeur D'Alene Marathon (held in May),the "Car d'Alene", a three-day classic car event, and the world famous Ironman Triathalon (held in June).
Summer brings one of the largest Fourth of July celebrations in the Inland Northwest. Included in the festivities are a parade, a multitude of food offerings, street dances, and music everywhere! The culmination is a spectacular fireworks display over the lake. In August, you can experience the Wooden Boat Show, and Art on the Green which features three days of fine art, fine food, and fine music.
Thanksgiving weekend offers the Winter Festival of Lights. This event ushers in the Holiday Season with an incredible fireworks show. During the weeks of late December through mid January, you can view one of nature's most spectacular events as the majestic Bald Eagle takes pause during its southerly migration to feast on the spawning Kokani Salmon in Wolf Lodge Bay.
In addition, there are dozens of golf courses within 10 to 20 miles of your vacation home. They range from a world renowned 18-hole course featuring a movable floating green, to smaller 9-hole courses. You can ride the 26-mile long Centennial Trail. You will also find easy access to Silverwood Theme Park. In town you can enjoy an inviting city park, and a beautiful sandy city beach. There are several sport rental companies in town where you can rent ski boats, pontoon boats, jet skis and more.
