We really enjoyed this location. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The cabina was cozy and comfortable. The sound of the river outside gently melted all the stress and worries away. We couldn't ask for a better place to spend our vacation. The landscaping was perfect, and fragrance from the blossoms of the fruit orchard was pleasant. If you want to a convenient and safe place to stay while your in the central valley, stop here!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

After spending 5 months traveling Central America, I came down with a nasty bug. Trying to recover in a hotel room in San Jose was next to impossible. That's when I discovered Dorothy and Bob and their little tranquilla cabina nestled in the Orosi valley. The very first email resposnse was quick and inviting. They worked patiently with me as I was trying to sort out our travel plans. When we arrived they were very hospitable and welcomed us with a cool drink. When we were led down the path to the cabina by the river I was so relieved. To say it is cute is an understatement. It has everything you need in regards to dishes and bedding. It's very private and clean and we enjoyed many hours on the deck and in the out door tub just listening to the river. It is a lot cooler in the Orosi Valley so if you are looking for a break from the heat this is the place. We didnt venture out much due to the bug but what we did see was beautiful. The people very friendly and the owners invited us to a lovely easter brunch where we met many of the locals and had a very nice visit. If you are considering the Orosi valley, give Dorothy a dingle first. You won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Ian and Karen, Thank you for the lovely review. We enjoyed having you in our little corner of the world, we think it is pretty special! Our river is awesome and it is very tranquil, so any stress can be swept away downstream. Come back and see us and next time you will be feeling up to venturing out. Bob and Dorothy

Imagine a tastefully decorated, fully equipped, very private little guest house by the river that's surrounded by a citrus grove with views of the hills and jungle. We spent hours walking down the riverside road that meandered through the villages, and we also enjoyed being close to the bustle of the town of Orosi which is just minutes away by car and a lovely walk if you choose. The property was very clean and well maintained. The jacuzzi tub for two on the patio was quite a treat, too! Our hosts were so very friendly, we truly enjoyed meeting and visiting with them. We highly recommend a stay in this location, the beautiful Orosi Valley where the moderate temperature, the stunning natural surroundings and the proximity to the regular lives of the Costa Ricans of Orosi makes this a must stay for a relaxing visit that connects you with my favourite area of Costa Rica. If you do stay for awhile, there's a Spanish school in the centre of town. We took day trips around the valley, up the volcano and to nearby towns and agricultural areas. This property offers a good base to explore the surrounding nature attractions and good restaurants, or just settle into this comfortable accommodation and enjoy the neighbourhood.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the great review. We enjoy our guest home and the people that visit us by our having it available to rent. Orosi Valley is truly a beautiful place to visit. I think our husbands talked more than we did, it is so good to meet people that you have so much in common with. Makes it seem like a small small world. Thank you for visiting and please come see us again, we would love to have you.

Costa Rica was absolutely beautiful, weather, scenery, everything. We stayed at this cabina for one week, the owners were absolutely wonderful in helping us enjoy our vacation as well as telling us places of interest to see and shop. Would 100% recommend a stay at their location to everyone.Drinking coffee in the early morning on deck looking at over at the river nearby and watching the different birds was unbeatable.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Rick and Hilda, we enjoyed having you stay in our cabina. So glad you enjoyed your time in Costa Rica. Next time make it longer than 1 week.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Upon retiring in California where Robert worked for New United Motors Corp. which made the Toyota Tacoma and the Toyota Corolla. We pulled up stakes and moved to our finca here in Orosi Valley. We are still a work in progress as we try to learn a new language and a slower way of life.
Why the Owner Chose Orosi:
Robert and I fell in love with Costa Rica, Finding our property with the River running through it and the tranquility of the water that we both love, the weather here in Orosi stays between 63 degrees and up to 80 degrees year round. Our finca has mostly lemon trees with a few orange trees as well. Fresh orange juice from our own trees is a special treat.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We remodeled the home that was on this property, our home is a 2 story house the living area on the second floor which puts us high enough to see forever. With the river flowing though the back section of the finca we decided that a cabina by the river would be a great asset and a place for friends and family to stay when they come to visit.
