'Falling Water' is located on Reeder Creek with a one minute walk through the woods to a beautiful sandy beach on pristine Priest Lake in northern Idaho.

Priest Lake is a large, clear, deep water lake, 19 miles long, four miles wide, with numerous beaches, and famous for its beauty, tranquility, and incredible wildlife. It is located about 90 miles from Spokane airport, and the lake itself has two small airfields. The Priest Lake area offers superb water sports, fishing, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and golfing. Several excellent restaurants are situated on the lake within easy boating or driving distance. There is a boat mooring for guests within 2 minute's walk from the cabin at Elkins Resort which also offers an award winning restaurant and more casual food and live music in the bar, a store as well as rental of water sports equipment.

While Priest Lake has a long established reputation as a wonderful summer resort area, in the past few years a 400 mile system of snowmobile trails, including a groomed trail to Schweitzer Ski Resort, has made Priest Lake one of the best snowmobiling destinations in the US. The area offers thousands of acres of amazing snowmobiling to an increasing number of winter sports fans who spend a weekend or longer here during the winter months.

This gorgeous 6 bedroom timberframe cabin was built six years ago to the highest standards. The sound of the creek which runs within a few feet of the cabin provides a constant background of music. The great room has a 26 foot pine clad cathedral ceiling and an enormous stone fireplace, with comfortable leather sofas and additional seating. The kitchen and all 3 bathrooms have granite counters with slate floors. The kitchen has been designed to accomodate groups who like to prepare meals together with ample counter space for several cooks, and is fully equipped with a large fridge freezer and external ice/water dispenser, microwave, gas stove/electric oven, coffee grinder and maker, dishwasher and garbage diposal. Outside is an enormous deck with lounge chairs and barbeque. Twelve adults can dine at the custom built tables, with additional seating at the kitchen island.

There are 3 bedrooms with queen-size beds and 3 bedrooms with two full size single beds in each. The master bedroom has a cathedral ceiling and external deck as well as balcony onto the great room. The main floor queen bedroom and bathroom are wheelchair accessible, as is the rest of the main floor and deck. On the upper floor there are two additional bathrooms for the four bedrooms on that floor. In addition to the master bedroom, the other queen bedroom on this floor has a balcony onto the great room. The bed and bath linens are all supplied and of fine quality. It is possible to accomodate younger guests in several of the bedrooms if the group exceeds 12 people.

Falling Water is a private home in an exceptional location, offering luxurious and spacious family accommodation for all seasons.

Our party of eleven, consisting of six adults and five kids, stayed at this beautiful cabin for a full week. Calling Falling Water a cabin is a little bit inaccurate, this is a fully-equipped two-story, six bedroom, three bathroom home. Everyone in our party had all the privacy and comfort they wanted. The interior design makes excellent use of space, with almost all of the rooms using pocket doors. The carpeted bedrooms have night stands, drawers beneath the beds, and wall hooks for hanging clothes. The home's interior boasts exposed wooden beams, a vaulted ceiling in the great room, comfortable carpeting, and a complete set of appliances (stove, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, and washer/drier). Ventilation is excellent, and the gas fireplace is very efficient. One "extra" that surprised me was the generator, which we needed to use one night after a storm temporarily knocked out the utility power. The home is literally across a small bridge from the Elkins Resort, where we had access to the boat rentals, beaches, and of course the store, bar and restaurants. Staying at Falling Water you really do have the best of both worlds: the room, privacy, and quiet of a full sized home with the amenities of a resort right next door. The beach is a five-minute walk, either on a path through the woods or a walk down through Elkins Resort. If you are visiting Priest Lake for the first time, while the beaches are nice the islands are exquisite. We rented a pontoon boat and went down to Kalispell island, where the white sand beaches were uncrowded and just beautiful. Priest Lake is a very clear lake, not crowded, and an ideal vacation spot.

The accomodations are superb...stayed there 9/5/11 to 9/12/11. With Elkins next door its hard to compare the two. ElkinsResort located just across the stream from the cabin is a nice place with great history and the old frontier type cabins and it has wonderful staff, but this cabin beats the frontier cabins by a mile and its just a short walk to the beach and its less expensive by at least a 1,000 for similar occupancy. Recommend it highly for anyone who wants to kick back and listen to the stream flowing by on a massive deck and enjoy a beach. And if you get hungry and don't want to make a meal......just head down to Elkins for a real fantastic meal. I love the Elkins food and the kind hearted people who work there. Makes for a fantastic time for the fam. Only one thing...need to make it a tad more kid friendly with kiddy gates to keep the little ones from falling off the deck or stairs....oh and the cabin could use a new TV that is larger too...after a long day of activities the TV was dated and wouldn't work with newer DVD's.

the cabin accomodations were wonderful; fit our family of 14 very comfortably. The only thing I might want to caution other possible renters on, is if you have young children or aging adults, the walk to the beach is more than a minute; more like 5 minutes one way and the terrain is a hilly dirt path, once at the beach, your better come prepared, there is no dock or restroom, so trip back up to the cabin were frequent . Also the garbage service is a little strange where you have to transport your garbage to an of sight location that is about 25 miles round trip, a bit of a hassle.
