Loved the location and the views!
Loved the location and the views!
We usually rent a house on the gulf side of Florida every September with 2 other couples. Since there were only going to be 2 couples this year, we searched for a 2 bedroom condo. We loved the location, being quiet and laid back. There was construction going on during our stay at the complex. This did not affect us at all. In fact, it was nice to see them working on the buildings and making any necessary improvements. This means they care about the maintenance. We liked that the condo was oceanfront, and not a high rise. The only complains were minor, the master bath bathtub was very slow to drain, and you would stand in about 6 inches of water to take a shower. The doors to the balcony were very hard to open and close. It would have been nice to have information in the condo about the surrounding area, restaurants, etc.. Beds were very comfortable, but pillows in 2nd. bedroom need replacing. Just steps to the beach, and the pool. Beach chair and umbrella service was still available in September, which was nice, and beach was never crowded. We felt very secure here. People would leave their chairs/tents on the beach overnight, and not worry about their property. The condo had 2 nice pairs of binoculars for viewing the gulf! Nice! The condo was decorated in a New Orleans theme, very cute and clever. We would stay here again!

We were there on business, not pleasure. However, the condo was less than clean. The floors were gritty with sand and dirty mop water was in the kitchen sink when we arrived. Do they clean the floors from the sink?? This seems unsanitary! Yuk! The toilet paper holder fell off and bruised my leg. It was never secured to the cabinet. We were only provided with a half roll of toilet paper in the bathrooms. We had to go out almost right away and buy TP. We had no internet, which affected our reason for being there. Also, there was not enough water pressure to wash our hair. The rental agent was very accommodating and offered to try to help, but we would probably not come back to this particular location.

Manager response: I am sorry that you were disappointed! When you first arrived and reported that there was water in the sink I offered to have cleaning come and immediately rectify the problem and inspect for any other issues and was assured by you that it was not a problem. When you reported that the toilet paper holder fell out (not something housekeeping might catch) I offered to have someone come fix it. It is standard procedure for housekeeping to supply an extra roll of TP (sometimes under the sink). All condos at Sandy Key have an internet connection. Also, WIFI is available in the building. You indicated to me that you were having trouble connecting. Although there has not been a problem in the past I offered to bring a router over so you could have your own WIFI. You indicated it wasn't necessary since you were going to be out showing property most of the time here as a Realtor. I personally own a condo at Sandy Key and manage this condo and one other for client/friends. I have never heard of any water pressure issues at Sandy Key and there were not any reports of water pressure issues from you or my other guests during your stay. Your review has made it clear to me that rather than offer to help if there is a problem, I should insist! Guests that are reluctant to allow assistance can lead to a "not positive" review. This condo has had wonderful comments in its guest book and I would have done anything to make sure your stay was pleasant! Sandy Key is a wonderful complex rebuilt in 2007 with many amenities and hope you will return in the future!
A great place to relax!!!
A great place to relax!!!
My mother, son & I just wanted a place to relax. It was during spring break and we didn't want a place that would have a lot of teenagers partying! We found the perfect place!! The condo was in a gated community on a dead end street with a private beach! What more could we want? How about a heated pool (bath water!), regular pool, hot tub, excersise room, great condo and excellent views of the ocean!! We were only 17 minutes from Pensecola, so we were able to go to the Naval Aviation Museum, see the Blue Angels practice and visit the Pensecola Lighthouse! There were 2 large grocery stores, souvenier stores and a great seafood restaurant (The Shrimp Basket) within 1 mile of the condo. The condo was very nice. It had all we needed! Very clean, nice decor and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking/eating. Jayne was great to work with! She had the answers to everything!! I would recommend this condo and location for any type of vacation (family, honeymoon, relaxation etc)!!
