Breathtaking views from our observation room of the rugged coastline and Battery Point Lighthouse will inspire you. Enjoy bird watching and observe Gray Whales spouting on their migratory path from late December through March. You will be delighted by the sounds of barking sea lions, crashing waves, soothing surf and fog horn. From our upstairs observation room and bedroom you will experience all of this and more.
Spaciously designed and comfortably furnished, our vacation home features two floors with vaulted ceilings. The open floor plan includes a large combination kitchen/ living room area, two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, two bathrooms, and an observation room. A freestanding gas fireplace in the living room adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Conveniently located one-half block from easy beach access, a spiral stairway takes you to a beach to explore tide pools and beachcomb. Historic Battery Point Lighthouse, a few blocks away (from the beach or the street), is accessible during low tide and has tours available, giving you a rare glimpse into the daily operation and history of an active lighthouse.
Del Norte County’s scenic wonders are a short drive away. Redwood National and State Parks, home to the tallest trees in the world, include 75 miles of trails for exploration. The Lake Earl Coastal Lagoon, the largest estuary outside of Alaska, is a major migratory stopover. The Smith River National Recreation Area provides unsurpassed recreational opportunities for swimming, hiking, and boating and highlights the pristine Smith River, the nation's longest wild and scenic river, famous for world class steelhead and salmon fishing. Six River’s National Forest and Siskiyou Wilderness offer rugged, back country hiking.

10% City Tax (no tax for stays that are more than 30 days)

$25.00 per person charge per night for more than 6 people (up to 2 additional).

The Unique Benefits at this House
Great views of: Battery Point Lighthouse, the coastline to Patrick's Point, the ocean from the upstairs bedroom (even from the bed) and the observation room. Easy beach access one half block down the street. Convenient location to grocery shopping, restaurants, movie theater, city swimming pool and of course, Battery Point Lighthouse.

Let me introduce ourselves, we are Beth & Clarke Moore, the owners of The Lighthouse View Vacation Home. When I met my husband Clarke in 1974, he was renting (and then soon purchased) the little house that was then on this property because of it's close proximity to Seaside Hospital where he worked. Well things do change. Now the old Seaside Hospital property is the home to the new Hampton Inn and we replaced the little house with a new, larger house (in 2000) with a second story so that we could access the spectacular views.

Our family of six had a wonderful time here. The house was perfect for our family and we loved seeing the rocky beach and lighthouse from the home. It was a perfect location for going north to Bandon Oregon and south to Eureka. We explored the coastline, played on the beach, hiked the redwoods, and loved it all! One of our favorites was walking down to the beach after dinner to watch the night fall over the ocean. Thank you so much!

Four gals form Austin, TX, San Jose, CA, & 2 from Ashland, OR ran away from home to play and be inspired by girl talk that has spanned 20 years. Thank you for the perfect spot for us to gather. We enjoyed the Chart Room- a great suggestion! But most of all, we loved toasting sunsets with fine wine in the observation room. A must return!
