My family and I had a delightful stay at this lovely, comfortable and bright house. (The pictures do not do it justice). Wood floors, brick fireplace, just-right paintings which grace the walls provide a perfect setting for a Penobscot Bay vacation. The views of the water are serene and soothing and the house is filled with light and the sweet ocean air. Now and then the soft sound of the lighthouse horn can be heard. On a more practical note, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well and thoughtfully equipped, the off-street parking was nice and, unlike many rental homes, the tv had many many channels (way beyond basic cable) so we could watch favorite shows. In sum, this vacation home is quite special! Having enjoyed nine summers in Mid-Coast Maine, we all agreed that this rental house was one of the best ever! We stayed here for four days in February. What a cozy house it was! The kitchen was very well equipped, and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The master bedroom was very comfortable, my husband and I commented every morning on what a good nights sleep we had! The view was so pretty looking out over the water. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I am anxious to add to the praise for this nice vacation home and can confirm that all the previous reviews definitely still apply—and more. The first time my husband and I stayed in this lovely home we were amazed by how much the owners had anticipated what their guests might need. Since our first visit, the owners have added a new washer and dryer in the basement, plus Wi-fi and a flat screen HDTV in the living room. There is also another smaller TV in the master bedroom, where, by the way, the Queen bed is quite comfortable. The modern kitchen has everything you need, plus everything for cooking and serving your own lobster. There is also a well-stocked bathroom with a Good Shower. Check the list of amenities in this listing to see how many of the things you might need are provided, and read the previous reviews, which still apply. We agree with them all. You will also find plenty of storage space (closets, drawers, etc.) for clothing and other belongings. The two decks are nice spots for morning coffee or afternoon “tea” in warmer weather. And the extra sitting room off the master bedroom provides a quiet view of the water/ boats and a comfortable place to relax with a cup of coffee and read or chat and plan the next day. The grounds and yard are spacious, quiet, and lovely. This is indeed a pleasant and comfortable home from which to explore the many assets of the area. It is near to anything local and has easy access to explore the coast. Go all day and return for a relaxing evening. And, the house is very near the Rockland breakwater/lighthouse and the small park there. The location is quiet yet easy to drive to town/shops/harbor, plus grocery/Staples/Walmart & other chain stores are very near. Also, there is a large new Goodwill store very near that is fun to explore for bargains of all kinds! The owners are easy to work with and attend to every detail. Now that they are planning to rent year-round, we are tempted to return to experience Maine in winter, which we’ve always wanted to do!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was a very nice, very clean, and very well equipped home. The location was wonderful and the view was beautiful from the front and side yards. The home was very conveniently located, only a short walk to the Rockland Lighthouse, and a 2 minute drive to the center of town. The appliances were all new and very clean. The kitchen was supplied with everything you could possibly need if you were planning on cooking for a family each night. There was an ample supply of towels for the bathroom and the kitchen. The home had a very warm and cozy atmosphere. All of the times I contacted the owners, they responded immediatly with answers to my questions. The owners also had current magazines and brochures on where to go, what to do, and where to eat in the area, which we really appreciated. We found the Rockland area a very nice central location from which to take day trips, one of which was to Acadia National Park, which was not too far away. But we also all enjoyed the Rockland area. The Farnsworth Museum was fantastic. The downtown area had a very nice shopping area and the Rockland Harbour was beautiful too. There were so many things to see and do, that we all want to come back. All of us would highly recommend this house to our friends or family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The pictures of the house looked nice and I was familiar with the area so I thought I knew what to expect. Was I pleasantly surprised when we got there. The house is so cute and spotlessly clean. Everything was provided that you could possibly need. Shopping is a block away for anything else. The view of the water was fabulous and it was a treat to wake up in the morning, sit up in bed and look out the window at the boats passing by. The owners couln't have been more accomocating or easy to deal with. We will most definitely be back again and will reccommend this property to anyone who is interested! 5+ stars!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I stayed in this nice sweet home during a visit back to Rockland to visit friends and the town I missed so much after moving away. This is a wonderful little house. The pictures just can't show you how sweet and homey it is. The view of the harbor is amazing, the sounds of the fog horns at night are just right to fall asleep to and the location couldn't be better! It is right off the main road to anywhere, but it is so quiet at night. The house is immaculate! and they provide the paper products! A nice change from having to first stop at the store for TP! We had a get together in the enormous backyard. There is a picnic table and a great grill. The owners were prompt with their replies to questions. The second half of the bill passed the invoice in the mail and the owner called to let me know that they had received the payment and to disregard the invoice before it even got to me. There are just not enough good things to say about this house. There is enough room to park at least 2 cars off the road. The kitchen was fully stocked (including the little things like trashbags and paper towels.) The owners have even made it easy to take advantage of the great recycling program that the city of Rockland has. If you are looking for a slice of Maine and wish to have a nice home to come home to this is the place for you. There is so much to do in Rockland and in the surrounding area! One word of caution: Lobster is expensive if you buy it in a restaurant. Best to buy it and cook it at home! It is so much better fresh anyway. Try getting it off of one of the local trucks! It's quite the experience. I was traveling with my 2 kids aged 13 and 6. This was a great place in that there are two bedrooms that are separated by the whole house so they didn't bother each other. The master suite has a delightful little sitting room that looks across the street and over the harbor. Great for a cool morning and a cup of coffee. When we go back we will rent this wonderful house again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
