This oceanfront condo was the best stay (and views) by far that we've had on Maui. Being on the 8th floor we were able to see the turtles below, the dolphins and whales, and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The condo had everything we needed and more! We were close to running trails, beaches and shopping.

A stay at this condo guarantees a wonderful and memorable vacation experience. There cannot be a better location anywhere. Additionally, the condo is outfitted perfectly. There are ample linens and supplies. Even things like boogie boards, ice packs, cooler, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella...it's all there! The WiFi worked flawlessly. Both bedrooms were very spacious, and having en suite bathrooms was really nice. The owners were wonderful to work with and before our arrival supplied us with plenty of information, including very helpful information on where to dine in the area, with both fine dining and low cost alternatives, so you could match it to your personal preference. We tried several of their suggestions and none of them disappointed. The beach is right below you, there is a pool and barbeque on site, along with a fitness room, ping pong table. We would have to say that our stay here exceeded our expectations. Thanks so much!

I can't imagine a more spectacular view in Maui. This wrap around lanai and view make this property worth it on its own. We spent many hours enjoying the lanai and for someone who just wants to kick back and enjoy the sunshine and ocean you would never have to leave. We also found Kahana to be a great location. We could get to everything easily yet it wasn't crazy busy. There were a variety of restaurants to chose from within a short distance as well as shopping and other activities. We were able to access the rest of the island easily. It was a great base location. The information regarding the location and property were accurate. The property was very clean and well maintained. The pool was a nice option and everyone who worked on the property was very friendly and helpful. Last of all dealing with Bill and Dondi was great. I spoke to Bill on the phone as well as e-mail correspondence. He was always pleasant and very helpful. They sent us information regarding the property and answered any questions we may have had. I would love to return to this condo but hope to come during whale season next time. Thanks Bill and Dondi.

Spent 10 days in this great condo with our two granddaughters. Tons of room, superb views and terrific location. Right on the ocean with plenty of beach space. The swimming pool was bigger than I expected and there were at least 4 very nice barbeques (maybe more) that we used frequently. Really can't think of anything else we could have added to make this a better vacation spot. Highly recommended.

Thank you Bill and Dondi for making your condo available. We had a fabulous time snorkeling, laying in the sun, dining on the wonderful lanai and watching the romantic sunsets. Our kids loved the beach and we all had a great time! The condo had incredible views and was everything we could have wanted. Our kids are begging us to go back already! The Tomkins

We stayed in this very nice unit with another couple May 10-17, 2011. The views from both lanais are fantastic. The unit is very quiet. Loved the pool area and quick access to the beach. The snorkelers with us liked the snorkeling on the condo beach. The condo was very clean and the a/c worked well. Would recommend to the owners to up-date the smaller 2nd bedroom some. We paid the same amount to stay in that bedroom as the other couple did for the master bedroom, so it could be a little nicer. But overall this is an excellent property and very convenient to Lahania.
Owner response:Aloha, and thank you for your comments. We are pleased you enjoyed our unit. I would like to point out that all the furniture is within 2 to 5 years old, and both the master and guest bedrooms are the same size. The differences are that the master bath area is slightly larger due to a large closet in that area, but that the guest bedroom has a large closet in it, too. The biggest difference is that the master bedroom has an oceanfront view, which makes it seem larger. We hope that if you return with the same couple, that you may switch places and enjoy the master bedroom and all of its fantastic views!

I've stayed at lots of condos and hotels on Maui, all over Hawaii actually. And this one is now definitely our new favorite. Why? Well, first and foremost are the incredible views. I'd say "view" rather than "views", but there's so much to see: In front of you to the left is Lanai (the island, not the porch), and to the right is Molokai, both seen over an expansive ocean which, during much of the day, shows innumerable shades of blue and green and frequent whale spouts and breaches. And, there's a full view of the beach below and to the side, there's the pool area. Most days, down to the right I could see sea turtles, up to five at a time. And, behind to the left are the West Maui mountains although you only see a sliver of that from the lanai. Because the condo is on kind of a corner, the windows AND THE LANAI are both very very wide. Also, the high-up 8th story view presents a clearer perspective of the view than do lower floors. Facing the West, you get beautiful sunsets, and because that can make the condo a bit warm, that's ok due to your choice of a normally strong cross breeze through the condo OR two-zoned air conditioning. Nice. The washer dryer in the unit is a bit on the small and slow side, but it's free and allowed us to pack less clothes. The king bed in the master bedroom was firm and comfortable. We didn't use the 2nd bedroom beds, but we loved the extra space. I also like that the condo has 2 and one-half baths, making for an even more comfortable stay. While here, we took advantage several times of the free onsite tennis courts, the communal gas barbecue grills, and the free garage parking. If you're still reading this and you find yourself in Maui, I'm sure you've heard of several must-dos, like the drive to Hana, etc. Here are a couple you may not have heard about: (a) Whale-watching (in-season) with Captain Steve's Rafting (we've done several whale watches and like this one the best) and (b) the expensive Mama's Fish House restaurant just east of Kahului -- get the Polynesian Black Pearl dessert. Wow. Bill and Dondi have been GREAT to deal with from months ago when we reserved through today. We've now been here two weeks, and I'm sadly typing this on our last day here. We can't wait to come back.

Our stay in January 2011 was just terrific. The views of the ocean with the whales seemingly everywhere made the stay so enjoyable. We even had a large turtle right off the beach which we could see. The pictures in the listing are very accurate and the property was exactly what we expected. We would recommend this to anyone and Bill and Dondi couldn't have been more helpful. There are restaurants closeby, grocery stores within reach, walking areas, plenty of beach access and lots of information about the area and things to do.

The Royal Kahana Suite 811 for my wife and I is the perfect Maui getaway. The condo is huge with enough room to sleep 6. Views from the wraparound lanai are spectacular, with unobstructed views of Lanai and Molokai. All the ammenities that you would need are provided and all that you really need to bring is your bathing suit. The owners of the condo are very attuned to your specific needs and try to do everything possible to make your stay memorable. Spectacular views, wraparound lanai, large rooms and great owners....what else can you ask for? Highly recommended!!!

Upon arriving at sunset and opening the door (thanks to no keys or key cards), a wide open expanse with windows galore took our breath away. The condo is everything claimed to be and much, much more. Very relaxing and comfortable. After our touring and shopping days, we could not wait to get back "home". The huge lanai was great, and the whales did not disappoint us. We are certainly glad that we found your property and we hope to do it again soon. Thank Bill and Dhondi for your help and the information provided was very beneficial. Our 10 days 1/5-1/15/2011 was way to short.

Having just returned from 10 nights at this beautiful property, my husband and I would highly recommend it. Spacious and comfortable with stunning views, it offers many ammenities to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. It was even more than we expected from the photos and description. The owner(s) was most helpful and easy to deal with, even sending us a packet with all the information we needed for our stay plus suggestions and very useful tips regarding places to eat, how to get around, etc. The condo location is great, close to Lahaina Old Town with many options for shopping and dining out...or just eating in and enjoying your own meal on the roomy lanai. Tis easy to get around the area with a variety of activites available. We're looking forward to a return visit :).

Aloha! To those of you who may be considering a stay here, I highly recommend it!!! My boyfriend and I just spent Thanksgiving at this stunning condo and couldn't have had a better time! The view is a jaw-dropper and the condo had everything we needed to make ourselves feel right at home. It was so peaceful to fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves, literally a stone's throw away. The condo was very clean and it was so nice to have the extra bathrooms and bedroom. We had plenty of space and let the ocean breeze sweep through the plenty of windows in the condo. It is very "open" and the view through the sliders, leading out to the lanai, are enough to stop you in your tracks when you walk through the front door. Bill and Dondi were so helpful and were a pleasure to work with. They sent us some great information and recommendations prior to our vacation, which was much appreciated since it was our first time visiting Maui. We are already looking forward to returning and staying here again! Tips on places to go and things to do: We recommend going to the Old Lahaina Luau (it is very well done and the food is delicious ... although I'm going to have to say the Poi was, well, Poi), go snorkeling at Black Rock and Molokini Crater, have dinner at Mama's Fish House, and pack a picnic lunch for a magical drive on the Road to Hana. (Bring the "Hana" CD in the car with you that can be found in the condo. It was nice to have a narrative as we drove the road). Pick up a copy of the book called "Maui Revealed". It's a true gem and was the best guidebook we've ever used. You won't regret staying at this gorgeous condo! They even have fresh Kona coffee in the lobby each morning! Wishing you as marvelous a trip as we just had! Heather and George

Last minute reservation turned into one of the best 10 day vacations ever. We brought a first time visiting couple with us and they are hooked as we are. We come back to Maui at least every other year. This condo has it all. Two master bedrooms, an extra half bath, a wrap around lanai with breathtaking views from inside and outside. We lived on the lanai in the morning and late afternoon. Great beach to walk on outside the complex door. Clean and well kept grounds, pool, and BBQ areas. Could not ask for anything more. Will be back with our grown children hopefully next year

Hi Bill and Dondi. We're in our second week here and I would echo all the great comments we've read. Aside from the Condo being spacious (travelling with another couple), comfortable and well equipped, the location is spectacular. The large lanai has offered us a bird's eye view of the very active whales, turtles right below us, sunsets, rainbows and the snorkelling is good right from the beach below. The pool area is very nice, water is warm and lots of chairs always available. We've travelled to Oahu, Barbados, Mayan Riviera and the west coast of Mexico several times. This ranks as a 10 out of 10 for me. Great value also. Got to go -still a few more days to enjoy! Thanks again and regardsRob

Bill and Dondi, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your condo in Maui. We were there from Nov.5th-Nov.10th. The weather was great and the view from your condo is outstanding. We loved the wrap around balcony. There were several days that we saw rainbows over the other islands. Unfortunately we did not see any whales. I think we were just too early in the season. We did the full road to Hana which was a full day trip, but we experienced as much as we could that day. We had several people recommend Mama's Fish House, so we tried it out. Had heard it was expensive but was way out of our league. I would recommend other places over this one for the money. We went to the Old Lahana Luau. Would definitely recommend going to this one. Thanks for all your suggestions on places to go and things to see. Your condo was very convenient to everything and was easy to navigate the island from. We will recommend your place to our friends, for the price it was a nice place. Thanks for sharing your home away from home. Paula & Dicky Abell / Belinda & Mike Passanisi

Hi Bill and Dondi, We had an incredible time! The condo was great, lots of room for the six of us! The weather was superb, rained most nights, and sunny with cloudy periods in the daytime. We did lots of sight seeing, ziplining, shopping, from seeing dolphins, whales, snorkeling, and yes on your beach 2 sharks! Everything was awesome, it was a pleasure to have laundry facilities in your condo. Everything we needed was there for our use. Thankyou again, and we definitely will come back! Thank you for letting us stay in you condo again. It is so nice to be poolside and ocean front with a wrap around lanai. The first time we went to Hawaii we stayed in a place without airconditioning. Without the tradewinds for a week it was miserable sleeping and we will never do that again. It was very comfortable in your place and the people at the desk were nice and pleasant. We loved the warm pool, watching the turtles each day and the dolphins jumping out in the water. I have beautiful pictures of the sun going down in the evenings off the lanai. Your beds were very comfortable and we had everything we could need. I appreciate you asking how our stay was. We had a very unpleasant stay in one of our rentals from a U.K. owner who did not seem to care if we came back. We hope to come back to your condo in the future. Thanks again. Watsons-thank you so much for this wonderful place. We had an incredible family vacation here. Everything was just about perfect. One of our favorite spots on the whole island is your lanai. First thing every morning and every time we came in the front door, we could rush out there and just sit and watch the ocean. We all slept comfortably and enjoyed cooking breakfast to eat on the lanai and it was great. Some of our favorite parts of the island-Leilani's, Fleming beach, Hula Grill, road to Hana-breathtaking! Also watching surfers, boogie boarding on Makena Beach, and the sunsets too. We hope to come back soon! Mahalo, Mark, Roberta, Nicole and Jennifer

We had a truly wonderful time in Maui. The condo was perfectly outfitted with anything we needed. The view was unbeatable and all of the beds, including the foldout were so comfortable. We loved our location and were grateful not to be in the Kanapali crowds. All though we loved eating by the ocean at the Hula grill or Leilani's. My nephew lived in Napili all last year, until he was transferred, but his restaurant list and yours matched almost eye to eye. It is so thoughtful the trouble you go to in your letter for things to do and places to eat. Thank you for treating us all to such a wonderful place to stay at such a reasonable price. I happen to have stage 4 breast cancer, and I only mention this now so you can know just how much I appreciated the comfort and ease of staying in 811. It was a magical, relaxing vacation, due in no small part to the accommodations. If at all possible, we will be back. Lynne and family Saratoga, CA

Once again we had a fabulous adventurous and restful vacation in your condo. Last summer we took our daughter and son-in-law and couldn't wait to go back to see the whales this time. I daresay there is no other view like this one on Maui. The views and sounds of the ocean are so calming. We could see whales and turtles from the lanai. This trip we were traveling with our friends, who have a condo on Kauai, and normally stay in Kihei. They were totally impressed with our choice of accommodations. Although we did our share of dining out, taking whale watching and snorkeling cruises, some of our most enjoyable moments were spent at the condo, barbecuing by the pool, mixing our own drinks, enjoying the sunsets, and making memories together. Thanks for the opportunity! We will be back as soon as we can.

We just returned from Maui and stayed in unit 811 at the Royal Kahana. The condo is well eqipped and located on the western side of the island offering great sunsets and superb view. We ate most meals on the wrap around lanai to take advantage of the view and atmosphere. Our hosts could not be more accomodating providing excellant support prior to our arrival. We just returned from a magnificent vacation in Hawaii to celebrate our 40th anniversary and stayed at #811. It couldn't have been better! (unless we could have seen whales!) The condo is so accommodating, with everything you could possibly need. We ate breakfast on the lanai every day with the exception of a visit to The Gazebo (a must!) for outstanding omelets and macadamia nut pancakes. Each day as we got up and as we returned from the day's excursion, we went straight to the lanai. The views are incredible and so mesmerizing we could sit for hours. Thank you for sharing this beautiful site with us. We will recommend it to friends.

What can I say that no one else has? This condo has the most beautiful views, and the largest Lanai to enjoy them from. We took my parents for thier 50th Wedding Anniversary, and they had the best time. My Mother fell in love with the place, and it really felt like home. Even with 4 people, we had plenty of room, and spent most of our time on the Lanai, especially in the morning and early evening. From the lanai we could clearly see a sea turtle swimming along, and of course whales, even still, in late April. We did the trip to Hana on a tour so we could let someone else do the driving, snorkled, took walks on the beach, and generally relaxed. It was a trip to remember, and we are already planning on coming back as soon as we can! Thank you so much Bill and Dondi, for opening your home up and sharing it with everyone, we are very grateful!

We had a great time at this condo - our only wish is that we could have stayed on another week. The views from the condo are breathtaking, and we spent every morning at breakfast on the wrap-around lanai, which was my wife's favorite spot on all of Maui! Compliments also on the well-equipped kitchen - we enjoy cooking and had several nice meals in the condo. Access to all locations was great - and Lahaina was a mere 10 minutes down the road. This condo is definately a great value - and the owners go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant. Mahalo, Bill and Dondi!

My husband, son and myself arrived from Boston for the 1st week of our vacation and it was wonderful to vacation with family in your awesome home away from home!

Captivating! Magnificent! We were amazed by the beautiful view from the #811 balcony and viewed rainbows every day! The kitchen was equipped for our comfort even down to the smallest conveniences as utensils! Condo was comfortably spacious and clean just as described! It doesn't get any better than this! I will be a returning customer and next time plan to spend two weeks at your lovely condo! Thank you for extending to us your kindness. Mahalo! Joe & Donna

What a place to be! This is our 4th visit to Maui in two years. 811 was beautiful! While here on Maui, my 5 year old, Summer, learned how to swim in 2 days, although she got 5 lessons since it was so much fun. The instructor came right to us at the Royal Kahana!! The pool is nice and heated!! My husband and two children Thomas & Kendyl watched Summer from the room as she got her lessons, that alone was fantastic! I could not say enough for 811, but I would definately come back to stay her again, Mahalo, Mahalo & Ahuiho Jennifer DeAngelo

From the moment we rented #811 we knew it was going to be a very positive experience. Bill couldn't have been nicer on the phone. He answered all my email questions promply and sent a lot of good information (directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.) From the photos on the internet we knew that the condo would be nice and the views from the lanai would be fabulous. Well, no photograph would ever do justice to what we encountered when we opened the door to our home away from home. The view, the view, the view. The condo is very well equiped for entertaining. Having the extra half bath was really nice when we were all getting ready for our wonderful evenings out. We spent two glorious weeks and truly didn't want to leave. We have every intention of returning to Maui and will be certain to check availability of #811. This time we plan on staying for a month. Our very best thanks to Bill and Dondi for all the kindness they showed and for providing such a nice place to vacation in the most beautiful place on earth. Mahalo!

We spent 2 weeks(2/14-2/27) in Maui and had the best family vacation ever. We so enjoyed the spacious condo with the most spectacular views and accomodations. Everything you needed was in the condo and the information provided for area restraunts and activities was accurate and very helpful. We would definitly stay here again. The Watsons have a beautiful vacation spot in Maui and we were so fortunate to have picked #811 for this special family vacation. Mahalo. The Jonssons

We just returned from spending Christmas in Maui at the Royal Kahana, room 811. It was a wonderful trip and a great condo -- what a view! We watched whales frolicky daily, the beautiful sunsets, the sunrises hitting the clouds over Molokai and Lanai and the waves crashing below us. This is a great location and a comfortable, spacious and well equipped condo. It's close to LaHaina and Kaanapali for great dining and shopping. We would definitely stay in the Watson's condo again! Mahalo!!

We spent a week in condo 811 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The unit was clean and well furnished. The view was spectacular. We would definately return. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pictures of the unit were very accurate though it was more beautiful in person.

Aloha Y'all from Texas :-( For a first time in Hawaii, I can say we finally found paradise AND with a launi to boot! I've traveled a lot of places, Europe, the Carribean, Mexico, Jamaica, but by far this was the most beautiful spot on earth I have been to. My family thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the day from the sunrise to sunsets and everything in between. Being so close to the neighboring towns was excellent as well. We enjoyed the local restaraunts like Bubbba Gumps and Cheesebuger in Paradise. All the activities nearby like snorkleing, parasailing, the sunset cruise were both awesome for my family and romantic for my wife and I. All in all,it a great family vacation. One thing I would suggest is Mama's Fish House on the road to Hana. For Romance and scenery, it too, was a slice of paradise. But before you go, take the helicopter ride around Maui. I could go on and on but no doubt, we were treated extremely well and could not have asked for more with the room we were in.

We just stayed at Royal Kahana 811 and it was just great! The condo is perfect and we loved the wrap around launi. Perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets every night. We have rented two different units from Bill and Dondi over the last couple of years and have been very pleased with the way they have delt with us. If you are looking for a hastle free place to stay in Maui I would suggest any of the Watson's properties. Thanks again, Ken & Heath Dallas, TX
