We are honored to have you and your family as our guests, we look forward to helping make your stay a lasting memory. Our condo was just remodeled entirely February 2013. The the first floor lends ease to family time spent around the fireplace, kitchen, game area and dining room while enjoying spectacular views.
All bedroom mattresses are new Sealy's. The master is furnished with a King size bed, desk, deck, flat screen, soaker tub and fireplace in master bath. The queen bed, located on the first floor, is finished off with a custom 120 year old barn wood headboard. Two twin beds, a twin roll away and Queen pull out sofa sleeper are all located on the second level. New granite countertops are found throughout all 3 bathrooms, kitchen and wet bar. New wood floors on first floor, and a neutral carpet on second level is warm underfoot. New showers with beautiful large scale tiles are finished off with frameless doors. The high thread count bed linens and plush bath towels make for that luxury feeling after a fun filled exhausting day! Many custom designs can be noted throughout the condo. There are two balconies with spectacular views - one in the Master suite, the other located off of dining room. Gas grill available for renter use located on first level deck. Your condo is well equipped with kitchen utensils, baking dishes, cookware, etc. A glass and travertine tile backsplash offers a classy look with purpose. A kitchen aid mixer, Cuisinart blender and more are available for the motivated chef! The dining table seats 8 while the game table seats 4. All new dinnerware await your prepared meals! Coffe, hot chocolate and tea along with popcorn are provided to all guests. Large flat screen TV in family room, loft and Master suite. Plenty of storage for long stays. Sit for a soak in the outdoor soaker tubs located near the lodge, or take a dip in the indoor heated pool. The tennis court has been recently repaved and the fitness room is just 2 doors down! - Our condo is located on what is known as 'The Million Dollar Highway'. If you are visiting to take in the magnificant mountain views - no need to leave the condo! However, the town of Durango offers much to do - much to see - and much to eat! This laid back western town offers the most simple to the most sophisticated activities. If you enjoy photography or taking in the spectacular views, riding the Durango Silverton train is a must during any season. You won't be disappointed after a short drive to visit Mesa Verde National Park for the day; the park is full of history and local culture. If you are looking for exceptional food, we have two favorite places. Ken and Sues is located on Main Street downtown Durango - you cant leave without trying their springrolls - YUM! If you are longing for lobster, Cosmo's is a must! Most nights, owner James will greet you at the door and suggest an amazing wine pairing for your entree choice. Both places are extrememly friendly and attentive to your dining needs! You will find an endless list of activities during any season in the Durango-Silverton area. Take a scenic drive north over Red Mountain Pass to Ouray and sample delicious chocolates from Mouses Chocolates! No need to get in the car, there are amazing hiking trail heads right out your door. One of our favorites is the short and rewarding Spud Lake hike. Pack your lunch and spend the day! Bring your bike! Mountain biking, road biking or the 7 mile in town bike path are waiting for you! My husband and I brought our four children on vacation over Spring Break and had a wonderful time. The condo is beautifully decorated with plenty of cozy throws and pillows for lounging around relaxing after skiing. There were board games and a wonderful snow bank right outside the door that the kids had a blast playing in. The kitchen was as well stocked as my kitchen at home so I very much enjoyed having everything I needed readily available. The property was a short shuttle ride to the ski area but a couple of days we drove our own car and had no problems with parking. We did have a communication issue with the housekeeper upon our arrival but I will give the owners full credit for getting on the phone immediately and making it right asap. The condo has plenty of room for a family of six to relax and not feel crowded at all and we would love to visit again sometime. Overall it was a wonderful and memorable vacation and we would recommend it.

About the owner: We are Mike and Amy Neikirk. We are from a tiny southern Illinois town where we both grew up on farms, attended the same high school and were married 16 years ago. We have a lovely daughter who loves to travel - thank goodness! We are owners of a Civil Engineering firm that is licensed in 18 states which calls for much travel. Our favorite place to spend time is our 'home away from home' - our newly renovated unit #44. We are honored to oversee a ministry called The Great Banquet. As Community Lay Directors we have the amazing opportunity to serve the Lord alongside other believers.

As a young boy, my husband learned the art of high quality construction from his father who owned a home building business. I enjoy the structural and interior design portion of new construction; the potential in this unit was evident to us both. Thanks to family, friends, lots of travel and many hours of hard work, we have a home in the mountains to enjoy and share with you. In regards to Cascade Village, we love the private feel and the views are incomparable to any other condo community in the surrounding area. We love the onsight amenities including ski rental through Performance Sports located at the Benchmark Lodge.

When we first viewed this property, my husband commented 'this space just feels good'. We enjoy and were drawn to the open feel of this condo. We love that there can be 15 people here throughout the home but yet it feels as though we are all spending time together in a cozy space. I also love having a dining room where we can all sit down together for a hearty dinner. I love how upon arrival the turquoise and orange stained glass entry door greets us and reminds me of the windows at my parents church in Illinois. Truly a home with family comfort in mind.
