Situated well away from the bronzed and baying crowds, Château Le Chemin incorporates the odd remnant of the fortified castle it was half a millennium ago, since transformed by the calm, civilising regularity that is the hallmark of grand French architecture.

The superbly modernised Château is set within a large impeccably landscaped garden replete with pools and fountains, bowling green and archery court, parterres and an exotic terraced swimming pool with an island at its centre, in addition to a heated swimming pool. There is also a Jacuzzi, a sheltered courtyard equipped with a barbecue, a tennis court and a sauna, the whole surrounded by woodlands, olive groves and vineyards.

Ground Floor: There is a large, well-equipped kitchen, two large, bright and comfortable living rooms with pianos and grand fireplaces for convivial winter comfort. There is a cosy traditional wood-panelled library with computer access on this floor. The dining room seats 20 with ease. For the more energetic there is a gym, and a sauna for post work-out relaxation. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor with its own bathroom and toilet, perfect for the disabled guest.

First Floor: All the bedrooms throughout have satellite TV and radio, a minibar and a safe. There are seven light and airy double bedrooms (two suites with an extra bed and three spacious Grand Luxe suites with sitting rooms and extra beds) on this floor, each with its own bathroom. The decoration throughout reflects the classic love of pattern characteristic of Provencal textiles, with traditional terra cotta underfoot, and the bathrooms combine glamour with spacious practicality.

Second Floor: A large double bedroom, with an adjacent bathroom. There is also a comfortable television room equipped with a flat screen TV and a plethora of dvd’s, and a billiard room on this floor.

The Château is open throughout the year, as self-catering, B & B or catered for. There are cots for babies, air conditioning and central heating. Bedlinen and towels are included, as is end of stay cleaning of the property. There are housekeepers, drivers and gardeners on site.
