About the owner: Timothy Dobson is resident of Boulder for 38 years, an alumni of the University of Colorado and a graduate of Naropa University. Over the last 2 decades he has built community through teaching the Dances of Universal Peace and serving SpiritKeepers Interfaith Fellowship in Boulder as minister. This mountain home has provided a peaceful respite in nature to balance his busy community involvements. Learn more about him and his wife, Vera and their work.
Why the Owner Chose Boulder: They have lived on this property for over 20 years surrounded by 10 acres of Alpine Forrest and neighboring Forrest at each border of the property. It is adjacent to the Starhouse (Mt. Temple) and EarthStar Organic Farms in which they have been deeply involved for 2 decades. It has provided the perfect balance point location between the progressive community that they know and love as Boulder and the mountain wildlife that reminds them that many creatures share this Earth as home.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: Quiet relaxation and privacy are important to me. Time spent in the hanging Sky Chair on the deck looking at the surrounding mountains, or lying in the sun or hammock, or watching a crescent moon set over the Continental Divide from the hot tub ... all describe features of this peaceful mountain abode. Set back from the canyon road by a long driveway, traffic noise is rarely audible. We welcome travelers seeking a quiet get away and encourage revelers to find a better fit in town.
Built in 1960 by a Quaker couple from Chicago as their Colorado summer home, this log cabin is a perfect blend between rustic and modern living. Some of the features are central heat, wood burning stove, new washer and dryer (2012), wood burning sauna, outdoor hot tub/ jacuzzi, flat screen T.V. wireless internet, etc.
There are hiking trails from the immediate property and Bald Mountain trail loop is less than 1 mile up the canyon. One neighbor's house shares the driveway, so the house is private, but not isolated.
