A three stall barn with turn out allows the horse owner to explore new country their favorite way - from the back of their horse! Watch deer, hawks, birds and small game from the front porch. Premier fly fishing is found just down the road at public access to Penns, Elk and Pine Creeks. Woodward Sports Camp is four miles away. - Located near the bustling small town of Millheim where you find local micro brews, farm markets, meat market, and unique gift shopping. Fly fishing, kayaking, canoeing and tubing on Penns Creek. Horseback riding in the Bald Eagle State Park. All this makes for a happening place at the end of the lane. Yet, Martha's Meadow is a place of peace and quiet with more horse drawn vehicles on the road than cars as Amish neighbors go about their business....moreless

Little piece of paradise
Little piece of paradise
This is a great place - I am glad we stumbled upon it. Martha is a super host, the space is awesome, the animals are friendly and I liked the ability to wake up whenever we needed to and make breakfast for ourselves. If we ever come back out to Penn St or the surrounding area, we will stay here again in a heartbeat.

Relaxing to the Max!
The owner is warm and inviting, and provides a clean retreat to read, watch the horses, play with the dog or just sit on the front porch rocking chairs and take in the awe-inspiring views. And, the farm fresh eggs for breakfast are amazing! However, if you are looking for things to do, Penns Cave is nearby, as well as State College where you can find practically anything.

About the owner: I am a life-long resident of Penns Valley. An ethusiastic equestrian, I have been riding the local trails since I was a young girl. I am active in the local community, most recently becoming involved in a feasibility study for a proposed rails to trails project. My family lives in the area, my brother owns and operates an organic grass-fed dairy which produces artisan cheeses.
Why the Owner Chose Woodward:
I can name who has lived at this home for the past fifty years. From the road it's hard to see the property but when I saw the 'for sale' sign twelve years ago I knew what was behind it and I scraped together all I had and added a whole lot of prayer and was able to buy this little piece of paradise.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
I've made the place my own by adding a barn. I can just saddle up and ride out. A half mile of back road and I'm onto the unpaved road into the mountains. Its private and yet convenient to town. The 'back' of the house faces the mountain. I never tire of the view.
