We just got back from our trip to DC and I am so happy that we rented this apartment. The space is perfect for 2 adults. And as an added bonus there are 2 bicycles (no helmets) and locks that you can use to tool around the city. Bathroom- plenty of big soft towels, heater and fan, Kirkland soap and shampoo products. There isn't much counter space but there is a large medicine cabinet and you can clear some towels on the shelves and put your stuff there. Bedroom- closet space and a dresser, sheets are great and plenty of pillows, bed is comfy, there is a large TV as well Kitchen- fully equipped with plates and cups, etc, there is a dishwasher and microwave and BONUS a washer and dryer! Since it rained we needed to do laundry and this was perfect. Soap and detergent in the cupboard. There is a great breakfast bar and super relaxing bar stools to hang out in. Living Room- Big comfy leather sofa that 2 adults can easily sprawl on. We moved the coffee table and put the ottoman there so we could stretch out. There is another large tv in there as well. We loved the electric fireplace and turned it on every night! Cons There are a few stairs to this basement apt so if that is something you cant handle then be advised, also there is no working porch light so it is really dark when you get home late. Bring a flashlight so you can see the lock. The traffic on the street is pretty loud and lasts til 11pm. Anyone in the apt next door coming or going you will hear clear as day. And while the owner lives upstairs in the main house, you can hear furniture moving around, you can hear the dogs nails clicking across the floor and occasional barking, and you can hear when their water is in use. It's all muffled but if you are a light sleeper, then bring earplugs. Pros This price is excellent! Most hotels are starting at $250 and are in bad locations This location is super excellent The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and safe to walk around in, even late at night 2 Bikes available - what a great idea, use them, bring helmets Walking distance to the Metro 10 min! Or take the bus, its so easy and there are 2 stops right outside on the corner Tons of restaurants all within 10min - so many choices! The Eastern Market is right there so if you want to cook, get your goods there Very Comfortable digs If I come back to DC, I would stay here in a heart beat. The owner is very nice and easily accessible if you have questions. Great experience overall! A++Recommended for: Tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are DELIGHTED that you enjoyed our property and the bikes! Yikes, there is a porch light the bulb was out! So sorry didn't know! I replaced the bulb, no need for a flashlight now. Ill keep checking to make sure it works! Please come and see us again! Warm regards from the HILL!

What a wonderful apartment. Very modern and very very clean and really comfortable. My wife and I really enjoyed our DC stay in the apartment. It is in a safe family friendly neighborhood. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. It could not be in a better locatioin to tour the sites! Bikes are available and bike only lanes are in front of the property and go all the way to the mall. Evenings we spent our time trying out all of the restaurants on 8th street! There are so many and just a few blocks of the apartment. Cava Mezza, Belga, and Box Car were our favorities! The only night we cooked we gathered our groceries from near by Eastern Market! The scallops from the fish market were terrific! The apartment had everything we needed during our stay as well as lots of little extras like paper products, shampoo, detergent, dish soap etc. The owner thought of everything! Our teenage daughter stayed for one night and was very comfortable on the full pull out sofa. If you are thinking about a DC trip you really need to stay here! It was perfect!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

Such a wonderful apartment! We had a few snowy days in March for our visit but the weather didnt put a damper on our stay. This apartment on the hill is just so lovely. Everything is brand new and so nicely appointed! Everything was so comfortable and the floor plan so well layed out. We arranged a tour of the Capitol with our Senator's office before we arrived for a very private tour of the Capitol! Dont forget to do this! My two tween boys enjoyed the visit very much. We were able to walk everywhere around town to see all the sites. This Hill neighborhood is very safe (this was a big concern of mine before booking). We noticed the Hill is filled with strollers and dog walkers. People said hello to us as we passed on the sidewalk! Restaurant row is a short stroll up 8th street. There is a lovely local restuarant to suite every taste. We particularly enjoyed Cava Mezza (greek tapas) and dont forget to stop at the Sweet Lobby on 8th for great cupcakes and sweet treats. Eastern Market is 3 blocks away and a huge hit, along with the Flea Market. I wish we had time to try the Market lunch or breakfast, very famous apparently but ran out of time. You will love this apartment it is so comfortable! TV's in the living room and another in the master bedroom gave all of us a little "space" in the evenings. The owner lives on site and was very nice and helpful with supplying local info and had great suggestions for activities for the boys. We have been to DC before but never stayed on the Hill. This is the neighborhood to explore! And you can explore it all on foot! This has to be voted one of the best places on the Hill! We will be back to DC and back to this lovely property!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are delighted that you found the property so comfortable! Come back and see us soon! There is so much to explore from the Hill!
