Buck Horn Lodge is located at 3800' above Maggie Valley with spectacular views of downtown Maggie Valley as well as near and distant mountains. We are located near the end of the road with no other homes in view where the cool breezes blow.
The home is furnished with everything you need for a relaxed vacation.
In the kitchen there's a range, refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee pot w/filters, toaster oven, lots of pots and pans, dishes and silverware.
The large dining room table seats 8 and there's a table on the deck for outside meals. Also on the deck are 6 rocking chairs for reading, morning coffee, or afternoon relaxing. The night time view of the valley with the lights is spectacular.
The living room features a large fireplace (firewood is furnished), 2 leather recliners, 2 love seat recliners, two glider rockers, and a new HD TV w/bluray player. WIFI is provided.
A new 14' x 22' Master Bedroom was just added with it's own private deck. You can enjoy your morning coffee in the King size bed and watch the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks play on the deck. There are hummingbird feeders with lots of hummingbirds flying back and forth feeding. In the evening you can retreat to the bedroom and enjoy the electric fireplace, watch the 47' HD TV, or enjoy the view of downtown Maggie Valley at night. The Master Bath features a large shower and spacious vanity. There's plenty of space for your clothes in the walk-in closet. There is an A/C for times when the cooling breezes are not cool enough (which doesn't happen very often).
Upstairs there are two large bedooms each with a Kingsize bed. Each room has a TV w/DVD/VCR player. These two bedrooms share a bath that is located between the bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own A/C unit for the rare night when they are needed.
Downstairs there is a small bedroom with a queen size bed. This bedroom has it's own private bath with a tub/shower. Just outside the bedroom is a sitting room with a TV. This TV is not connected to the Satellite system and is designed as a children's area for playing games or watching VCR/DVD's. We provide some family suitable DVD's but suggest you bring your favorites.
Located in the garage is a gas grill for cooking out (no the jeep and 4 wheeler are not included with the house).
If you are looking for some exercize take a walk to the top of the mountain. It's about 1 1/2 miles and in the summer you can pick blackberries to eat or make a blackberry cobbler. When you get to the top the views are spectacular. Be sure and take some water.
Maggie Valley has lots of shops and restaurants. There's a park on Jonathan Creek where the kids can play in the cold creek.
Also nearby is Waynesville with more shopping and dining, Cataloochee Valley where you can view the elk in the evening and tour old homesteads, the Blue Ridge Parkway with its views, Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, Biltmore Estate in nearby Ashville, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and lots of hiking trails and waterfalls.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Buck Horn Lodge! The home is gorgeous and so spacious. It is well equipped with all the necessary items needed to make our stay comfortable. The house was just as it appeared in the photos and it was kept very clean! Even in the summer, the weather is wonderful and the front porch is great for enjoying the beautiful weather and the view! There are also exciting activities close by that my children enjoyed such as the creek (just down the mountain from the house), river rafting down the Nantahala, and all the hiking around the area. This vacation spot and home was voted #1 by my family and we look forward to vacationing there again!
