Beautiful location right on the beach. I had a wonderful time with my family away from all the stress of everyday life. Panoramic views and everything we needed to make our stay great. We will treasure our tiime in the Round House and will go back again.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children.

May stay lasted 2 days, June 9 thru 11, 2011. I have to agree with the earlier "tear down review", add that the sliding glass doors did not slide or lock to the outside, no screens. Lots of bugs and termites flying in house. During a wind and rain storm the whole door frame was shaking, the roof leaked throughout the house, we collected up to 6 inches of rain in pans while wandering in ankle deep water trying to find the circuit breaker to turn off the electricity to avoid electrocution. The circuit breaker was later revealed in a locked closet. We called the owner who said we'd work "things out" because we left the next day. We have yet to hear from the owner after two registered letters sent. Note he does not return deposit or reimburse for terrible conditions.

Owner response:I have expressed my sincere apology to the renters who left this review, their deposit has been returned (months ago) and I have extended my hurricane guaranty to them (free replacement holiday at the Round House for their full 11 day stay) even though the unusually severe storm was not classified a hurricane. The month of June is considered the "rainy" season, and it turns out that the timing and force of this storm early in their 11 day stay, did unfortunately cause some roof leakage. I ensured that things were worked out (i.e. fixed and addressed) once the storm had subsided. Had my guests not decided to depart prematurely, they would have witnessed the reparations I had scheduled and would have gone on to enjoy 9 straight days of beautiful Bahamian weather.

This property is paradise! The beach is in a perfect location and it is a vacation oasis. The house has panoramic views and simple decor. Waking up in paradise each morning was worth it!

Tear-down House

The house needs to be renamed “Tear-down” because of it’s condition. Built maybe as late as the 70’s and no remodeling since then. Small sinks and toilets, slow drains, sticking doors (some don’t even open), low water pressure, etc. Nice piece of property is the only good thing to say about it. Note that the car that is “available” is a piece of junk also: hard to start, no A/C, no radio. Oh, and the owner won’t return your deposit either….

Owner response:I was kind enough to allow this guest to enter the property 1 day early, at their last minute request; I always do my best to work things through with my guests. Of course that requires logistical changes regarding housekeeping and such, but I was assured that I would be compensated for my gesture. I was not compensated. The available car was ready (with furnished gas) 1 day early as well. The gas was not replaced at the end of the stay as is customary. The electric used during this stay was over the standard allotted amount. I duly return security deposits when my guests conform to contractual obligations as stated up front, but unfortunately these costs exceeded the deposit amount.
