Elverson chateau / country house description
Private 1st Floor Guest Suite in 19th Century House.
*****6000 Acres of Nearby State Game Lands*******
Visit Amish farms to the west, historic sites to the east, then travel south to Longwood Gardens or north to Outlets, Ski and Adventure Parks. It's all within easy reach. That's because Greystone sits near the County Lines of Historic Lancaster and Chester Counties. Numerous nearby roads make exploring easy. English equestrian sport and fox hunting are the theme of the rental. This contrasts with the Amish horse-drawn buggies found among wineries, grist mills and near the historic iron-works of Coventry Forge. Travel south to the Hagley Museum and tour the gun powder mills of DuPont.... or perhaps Valley Forge to the east, then Civil War Gettysburg to the west. Old Philadelphia, Hershey Park and Harrisburg State Capitol are within an hour’s drive. Come see them all or simply escape for relaxation in luxury at Greystone, knowing that it's all within easy reach when you're ready.

Husband and I stayed a week in order to visit three grandchildren and family in nearby Birdsboro. Wonderful day trips to Wilmington enjoying museums: learning and loving time. Driving through Chadds Ford/Brandywine Valley ideal for leaf peeping. Huge kitchen fabulous for family meals. Comfortable stay, no detail is overlooked. Hope to go back, as the children grow.

We spent 5 nights here. The place is so nice and roomy and beautifully decorated. We loved it here. It was THE perfect location to sightsee around southeast Pennsylvania. We loved the "no-hassle" of renting from Chris compared to so many rules/regulations/paperwork that we've encountered with other rentals. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a great time at Chris's place. Super clean, great location and just an all around good feeling at the house. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be back.

This is so lovely, it's very nearly perfect. Grand, peaceful view out back. It feels rural though you are in the middle of a small town. I chose it for it's location, central to the gardens and museums I wanted to visit, and was rewarded with a charming, comfortable place at a reasonable price. In a beautiful part of the state the drives to attractions can be done on lovely country roads without much traffic. I only encountered heavy traffic going to and from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was worth it though! The surprise of the trip was the garden at Chanticleer, charming, not to be missed. I highly recommend this property and hope to visit there again myself.

Year Purchased: 1990
About the owner: Life-long inhabitant of Historic Chester County. Started my company Vixen Hill Cedar Products on a Chester Springs farm then moved it to Elverson in 1985. My rentals are designed and decorated to the highest 5-star ratings. I believe in doing it right or not at all.
Why the Owner Chose Elverson:
I purchased this property as a personal project. My intention was to renovate an enduring monument equal to the best of America's grand homes of the early 1900's. This 1880's house is constructed of black granite from a local quarry.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
The property is conveniently situated near numerous roads that lead directly to both historic and recreational destinations. These destinations are equally numerous and could easily consume a week or two to visit them all. I've often remarked that there's virtually nothing you can't find within an hour's drive.
