Owner's Map of Gardiner

My husband and I currently live in Little Rock, Arkansas. We have two adult children - a daughter who lives in Bastrop, Texas (just east of Austin) and a son who lives in Houston, Texas. I inherited this house from my father who worked in the Park and lived in Gardiner for 30 years. We have spent my husband's work career moving around the country but hope to be able to spend our summers in Montana when he retires.

Second stay-still great

Guest: Lon from Paris, France (Paris, France)
Date of Stay: 08/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/04/11

My wife and I and two of our three adult children (youngest son and daughter) stayed in the home from August 2-12. It was our second stay (see review in 2009) and it was just as good as the first. We agree with all the previous reviews which provide an excellent overview. We have particularly enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen, the use of the washer and dryer, the living room and den-both of which have TVs and the 3 bedrooms. Being able to walk to downtown Gardiner (Gardiner is a friendly, small town) is great and the views of Electric Peak and the mountains in the morning and evening are wonderful sights. The entrance to Yellowstone National Park and the Gallatin National Forest is very close and we have used the home as our home base for our hikes and explorations. The owner and the site manager are wonderful. We plan to be back again and we hope to be able to stay in this home when we do. It has everything needed for a comfortable visit to the area..

Great place

The home is ideal for Yellowstone visitors as it is within about a mile of the northwest park entrance. It was clean and well furnished including lots of videos for our grandson and board games for the adults. The only downside for a large group is the single bathroom but we managed fine with 5 people. One could easily walk to downtown Gardiner which has several restaurants and shops. We also arranged for our river rafting and horse back riding in town at the Flying Pig. Both were good experiences led by very good guides. We spent most of our time in the park to which the proximity of the home was very helpful. Working with the owner, Nancy, was a pleasure and I would recommend the home without reservation.

Absolutely Warm and Inviting home!

Date of Stay: 06/07/11 Review Submitted: 06/22/11

We had a fantastic time staying in this property. The house is spacious and neat as a pin. There is an excellent and safe backyard space which was good for us because of a toddler. The house is equip with everything you could need (except the food)!! And there is a very decent (a little pricey)grocery store (Food Farm) to accommodate. Although we did learn that the closest sliced ham was in Livingston!! Would also recommend driving to Livingston for a steak at The Stockman. It is a perfect location for seeing Yellowstone and the Tetons. We also were able to get to Bozeman on a rainy day and go to the Museum of the Rockies which I would recommend to anyone especially with children. The owner of this impeccable home is responsive and gracious down to the great goodie basket left for our arrival. I would recommend this property to anyone who would like to get close to the Yellowstone entrance and not stay in a motel.

BEST VRBO RENTAL EVER!

Guest: Mike (Newport News, VA)
Date of Stay: 10/09/10 Review Submitted: 10/24/10

"The house is awesome. Clean, comfortable, and every convenience you can imagine. There was a 3lb can of Kirkland Coffee when we arrived. Talk about feeling "at home"! The on site manager, Pam, is one of the nicest and helpful people you'll ever meet. The Grille cooked up some great Rib-Eye's from Food Farm (in Gardiner) and we loved the views from the front windows at sunset. I can't say enough nice things about Nancy the owner and Pam the manager. They made our stay (1-week) the most enjoyable we've had in recent memory. Pam put toys (very clean toys) (my daughter noticed) for my Grand son to play with as he was staying with us too. The basket of treats that greeted us upon arrival was a wonderful touch. Great town with excellent places to eat (Cowboy Grille was my favorite) and the Tumbleweed Coffee shop has great lunch sandwiches. You couldn't ask for a nicer more convenient place to stay and a friendlier more comfortable town in Montana. I only hope its available next time we plan to come back to Yellowstone! The best VRBO rental we've had and we've had some pretty good ones over the past few years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OWNER AND HOUSE!"

Wonderful Time

My family and friends all had a wonderful vacation using your home in Gardnier, WY. We visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and also the Bighorn National Forest. We couldn't have asked for anything nicer. Your home was as described and a prefect base to see all the wonderful sites Montana-Wyoming has to offer. We saw 29 different species of animals during our stay, including some we never thought we would get to see, the Wolves, Mountain Goats and Bighorn Sheep. We hope to visit again with more family and friends and we will be contacting you again for availability. Thank you so much! It was perfect.

The house was everything we expected and more. It was just right for my wife, myself and our 3 adult children. There was more than enough room and all the amenities to allow each of us to have his own space to relax after being out hiking and site-seeing in Yellowstone. Very conveniently located to take advantage of all that a great national park has to offer. The owner and the on- site manager were very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay and highly recommend this vacation rental.

Date of Stay: 09/15/08 Review Submitted: 09/15/08

This house served as a wonderful home base for our explorations in Yellowstone National Park. It is only two minutes from the North entrance to the park and is very convenient to the grocery store, gas stations, and shops in Gardiner. The owner has thought of every item you might need to be comfortable during your stay, ranging from a welcome basket to a selection of movies and books to handy items such as trash bags and soap. Having a full kitchen was very handy for a family with a gluten intolerant individual who needed to prepare meals to take on day trips. It was wonderful to fall asleep with the cool mountain air blowing through the windows and the twinkling lights of other cabins up on the hillside.
