Brookings cabin description
Cabin is ideal for couples and small families. The Cabin faces the ocean and also has forest views. We have queen beds in both the master bedroom and the loft. There is a queen pull out sofabed. There is one step up into cabin and a stairwell to the loft. Ceiling is low in the loft. We are located six miles North of Brookings, Oregon and just ten miles from the Northern Califonia Border.
The Cabin is located in the Whaleshead Beach Resort and within the Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor. Enjoy the view from the wrap around deck while relaxing in the Hot Tub. Or simply set back in the deck rocker and watch the many varieties of birds: wild turkeys, stellar jays, and quail to name a few. During the months of the whale migration you might get lucky enough to spot a whale or two. We have binoculars available for your search.
We have a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, pots, pans. A beautiful view of the ocean as you cook.
There is a laundromat on the resort property, but not in the cabin.
The Living Room has a queen size sleeper sofa, a recliner and big overstuffed chair. Perfect for lying around and doing NOTHING! (like our Cat). There is a 52 ' TV with DVD/VHS Player. Another TV is located in the master bedroom. There is a small library of DVD's and VHS movies and books available. Many board games, cards, and puzzles.

I really enjoyed my stay in this cabin - it was very quiet, everything worked well, it was clean and well-maintained, with a full and well equipped kitchen, and the distant ocean view is spectacular. The owner was very responsive and pleasant to work with; you can tell the unit is well loved and cared for. This unit is located in a development of similar cabins (not rustic, very modern) to the north of Brookings, proper. This is a good bet if you: (a) like quiet and privacy, (b) enjoy a wooded setting and distant ocean views, (c) want reliable WiFi, (d) are not traveling with very young children (the unit has a small loft with a very steep staircase). It's not so good if you want to be right on the beach or close to town - you won't be walking to any beach, restaurants or shops from this cabin. If you're in good physical shape you could hike down the steep hill to the little restaurant at the entry to the development (breakfast and lunch only) and back up - but it's a long steep walk. If you are traveling with teenagers or others for whom having a good TV and TV reception is important, you might be a little disappointed. And, while the description says this unit has a washer and dryer, they are not accessible to the tenant - they are in a separate building which the key does not unlock (this was a minor disappointment to me as I had hoped to have laundry access since this was a late stop in a long trip and I was running out of clean clothes). However, if you are looking for a comfortable, quiet and lovely place for relaxing, this is a good bet. It was the very nicest place I stayed during my Oregon coast travels.

Manager response: Thank you Theresa for taking the time to give our cabin such a thoughtful review. It was very helpful in giving others a good idea of what to expect from guest's point of view. It also made me realize that I need to make it clearer about the washer & dryer situation. There is a laundromat on the Whaleshead property for quests. Sorry for that misunderstanding. Happy that overall you enjoyed your stay.
Cozy Cabin, Amazing Views
Cozy Cabin, Amazing Views
I was so charmed by the photos here that I had to book. My family fell in love with the cabin as soon as we arrived. It's very cozy, surprisingly roomy (for a 1-bedroom and a small loft), very clean and well stocked for cooking. We ventured into the redwoods and for long walks along the beaches, but every night couldn't wait to get back to the cabin to take in the incredible view of the coast and stargaze from the hot tub. Linda, thanks for sharing your cabin with us! It was a highlight of our trip across Oregon.

Manager response: We are delighted that you enjoyed the cabin as much as we do. I'm actually at the cabin now soaking in the warm morning sunrise & oh the view I never tire of...thank you again for taking the time to write a review!!!
My husband and I LOVED staying in the cabin. The setting, tucked away in the towering firs surrounded by sword ferns with a great ocean view, is gorgeous. There's lots of decking to lounge on and a toasty hot tub for soaking and star gazing. Even though there are other cabins nearby, we felt very secluded. After hiking around the area, we thought it was one of the nicest cabins in the whole resort. The cabin is very cozy and everything you might need for a comfortable stay is provided including games and entertaining reading materials. The property owner was easy to work with. E-mails and phone calls were answered quickly. It was obvious that she cared about her guests and wanted them to enjoy her special place. We would love to stay here again.

Manager response: Thank you Mary for the great review! Having guests enjoy the cabin as much as we do is this the best! The only draw back is we have to plan ahead and reserve it for us before it gets snatched up.....not such a bad problem!! Come back and kick back soon....Linda Sanford
This was the first time my boyfriend and I have rented a cabin in Brookings and all I can say is WOW!! This little cabin was so homey feeling they had everything there for you like cookware, eating utensils, bathroom commodities.. you name it they had it. We had a blast would totally recommend this adorable place the views are amazing from the location of the cabin.. the weather was exceptional this particular weekend.. we WILL go back. The owner was so nice when I spoke with her, she told me if we had and questions or concerns to please give her a call.. really the only words I have for this place is AMAZING!!
