TOOMALES BAY STATE PARK is comprised of a 2,000-acre day-use park which features four gently sloping, surf-free beaches, protected from winds by Inverness Ridge, the backbone of the Point Reyes Peninsula, as well as forests, fields, hills, meadows and marshes - each with its own plant life, including varieties of trees, shrubs and wildflowers. One of the finest remaining virgin groves of Bishop pine in California is in the park's Jepson Memorial Grove. Wildlife in the area includes foxes, raccoons, badgers, weasels, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, deer, bobcats, skunks, wood rats, field mice, moles and other animals. There are also land and sea birds, including the spotted owl, quail, goldfinches, puffins, great blue heron, pelicans, ruddy ducks, woodpeckers, meadowlarks - and more. We had a wonderful stay at Helen's House and can't wait to return. The house is charming and the setting overlooking Tomales Bay is beautiful. Close to Heart's Desire Beach and one of my favorite hikes, Abbott's Lagoon trail. Very spacious home beautifully furnished and comfortable. Enjoyed the outside patio, tree swing, and hummingbirds.

What a hidden gem! We had a wonderful stay at Helen's House and so glad we chose it...the pictures don't do it justice. It's location is not only beautiful but very private making it quiet and relaxing. The home is well cared for with it's comfy furniture and beds to the local artwork inside and out. Between the beautiful landscaping, abundant wildlife and views of Tomales Bay, we felt as if we were in our own private sanctuary. Our children loved exploring the grounds, going to Heart's Desire Beach, then sitting in front of the fireplace at night. The only bad thing about Helen's House is having to leave! We will definitely be returning to this magical place for another stay! To Jeff and Barbie - thanks so much!

Four of us spent a splendid three night retreat at this well-appointed cottage. It was quiet and well situated to the trails of Point Reyes National Seashore and Tomales Bay State Park. The wi-fi was a plus. We'll be back.

Pt. Reyes is such a great place to hike, go to the beach & just generally relax. I'm glad we came to Helen's House this trip. It's the perfect complement to all that Pt. Reyes has to offer. Comfortable & cozy, with great views, we really enjoyed ourselves. Our daughter liked the swing the best.

A lovely place to still the mind and collect one's thoughts. Helen's House is thoughtfully and carefully appointed. Every comfort has been considered. Adventure lies just beyond the front door- Tule elk and the lighthouse await. A place to discover yourselves.

We found this house from the web site and had an unbelievable experience. What is not mentioned is the wonderful, natural gardens which surround the home and the dozens of hummingbirds. This home is immaculate, beautiful, and tremendously relaxing. The second bedroom has an extra twin bed, perfect for our child. We'd love to return soon!
