The surrounding mountains are spectacular. When the sun goes down you can snuggle in front of the crackling wood fireplace and take in a movie on the large flat screen HDTV or cook a gourmet meal in the kitchen and settle in with a glass of wine after relaxing a spell in the adjoining hot tub spa. Wood is supplied for the fireplace and the kitchen is fully appointed.
Silverpick is one-half mile south of Durango Mountain Resort (DMR) and 15 miles from Silverton Mountain. Between the two, you will find epic winter skiing, fabulous food, shopping, sledding, snowmobile tours, Snow Cat skiing and a nordic center for cross country skiing. From your cozy base here at Silverpick, the option to explore some of the most dynamic back country skiing and hiking is right out the door.
In the summer DMR hosts 'Music in the Mountains' as well as an abundance of summer activities: mountain biking, an alpine slide, mini golf, and hiking just to name a few. Silverton offers historic settings and unmatched hiking, exploring, rafting and mountain climbing.
20 miles to the south will find you in the historic and delightful town of Durango which offers attractions, restaurants, shopping and more all year round.

About the owner: Lindsay, Brett and the kids are a long time Durango family with Brett's roots here going back to the late 1800's. Brett has been skiing at Purgatory (Durango Mountain Resort) since it was started in 1965 and Lindsay for the past 15 years. Our two youngest still live at home and between the mountain and town, we consider ourselves lucky to live, work and play in such an amazing place.
Why the Owner Chose Silverpick:
We wanted a way to be closer to the mountains we spend so much time in and driving past Silverpick each time we came skiing, climbing, hiking or just touring, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a cozy nest that allows us more time in the wild. Truly a gift to have this idyllic comfy get away for year round fun.

Compared to other properties nearby, we have the advantage of more on-site amenities, less traffic, a top-ranked restaurant, bar and game room, a hot tub and peace and quiet.
