Chris, thanks once again for arranging our stay in Portugal. We all had a wonderful time together..our 9 seater van was just the ticket although became a tight squeeze on some of those narrow streets in small towns. We were all very happy with the accomodations at Balaia and will recommend it to friends who are interested in travelling there. Owner listed weekly condo cleaning but two weeks before our arrival, he informed us that it would only be done once a month. Even when the cleaning staff finished, the condo was not clean. The countertops, appliances, cabintes and table tops were not touched. The sofa is very worn and dirty (we placed a sheet over so we could sit on it). The grout in the bathroom was dirty, with black mold in the sealant around the tub and the wall tile had orange mold in grout. By the end of our 3 month stay, it became worse. Not many kitchen utensils and I bought several items such as a veg. peeler, cutting board, baking pan, etc. There are no measuring cups or spoons. There were ants in the kitchen and bathrooms and owner did not respond when we notified him. The location was the last building which was farther than we were led to believe. One absolutely needs to rent a car to have access to any shopping or restaurants. The condo is quite roomy and comfortable,however. The owners were helpful organizing our airport transfer and have a book with suggestions for area activities. Do not believe that we would reccommend to friends. If owner had told about the cleaning, us before our stay we would have been able to decide if it would work for us.

The pool nearby was lovely and everywhere was very clean. The weather was beautiful, not like here now at home. We hope to book your apartment for next year and will let you know as soon as possible. Chris & Linda Thanks very much for the use of your apartment at Balaia in July this year. We had a fantastic time, the apartment was lovely very modern and clean and in a nice location. It had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay including 14 days of glorious sunshine, who could ask for anything more? The resort was great, very well maintained and the staff very helpful. The kids loved the pools - we had to try all of them!!!!!!! This made it a very relaxing holiday for us as they were quite happy splashing around while we chilled. (as they say" just what the doctor ordered!") We found plenty of great places to eat nearby, all of which we have left info on for others and yourselves to enjoy too. Wild & Co and Invictus in the New Town were fab as was Fratelli's in Olhos d Agua. (All great for the kids too!) All in all we had a great two weeks at Balaia and would definitely return in the near future. We have also recommended your apartment to friends who are looking for a relaxing holiday in the sun as Balaia ticks all the boxes! Thanks again. Caroline Scotland.

Not only did I score with the weather on my recent break to Balaia but the apartment was home from home. Everything you could possibly need for a stress free holiday in Portugal. The beach is a 15 minute walk if you fancy a change from the numerous onsite pools. There is a supermarket to stock up on basics, restaurant, clubhouse or poolside cafeteria for dining out; the gym and tennis courts to work of the calories or if like me you are not so energetic go for the various beauty treatments offered and be pampered! The local transport runs right outside or a taxi ordered from reception to go further afield. I can't guarantee your weather but clean, comfortable accommodation in a quiet location with superb views I can. Mandy Aberdeen, Scotland April 2011

The weather was great (the last sun we'll see for a few months). The resort was relatively quiet which suited us down to the ground and evidently well looked after by the staff. Terrific appartment, whith lots of extras. Very clean,bright, owner has nice taste in decor. It is a distance from reception15-20 mins leisurely walk so would be better with a hire car, but I managed to walk everywhere and sometimes took taxi back. I am 80. Restaurants nearby good,golf house very friendly and good food. Wonderful 9 hole challenging golf course with lots of practise areas around . Sparkling blue clean pools. Lovely beach very close, within walking distance. Very peaceful location with open outlook and lots of wild birdlife to enjoy.I will book again and recommend to friends

Hi Chris, Yes we are back to reality! Once again the apartment was spot on and the sun shone for the whole fortnight. The boys certainly enjoyed having their own TV (as did we!). The water filter was a big plus also. The boys spent all their time on the driving range and the golf course (using the golf clubs in the apartment). We had a car for the fortnight which really made a difference this time and we were able to see a lot more of Portugal. We did have a problem with luggage - we arrive 4pm Monday, our luggage 6.30pm Tuesday! We also had a bit of trouble with noise from other apartments (partying at night - it wouldn't have been so bad if we were invited!) but we spoke to reception and it was sorted out. Once again we had a brilliant holiday ably supported by the apartment, location and sunshine. We will certainly recommend your apartment to friends and you never know we might be e-mailing you again - soon! Thanks again for helping our holiday to be a big success. Regards Mike and Ann

Hi Chris, Just a short note to say we all had the most fantastic time in Balaia.......very reluctantly returned home early yesterday!! We all agreed, the accommodation was the most luxurious and well equipped we have ever stayed in in Europe, and we will be contacting you soon for details on booking for next August!! Our only problem was that we wished we had realised the walking distance the apartment was in relation to the pools and reception,we ended up having to arrange a car for the week when there, however this was no real effort, as all the staff at the resort are so friendly and helpful, making everything so much easier; we even had to use the local dentist and doctor, but again, all so easily arranged, speedy and fantastic care received each time. Thank you for all your help, making this holiday so easy to arrange, fantastic value, and very easy to enjoy!! We have already recommended you to several friends. Chris, Thank you for the use of your apartment in Portugal. It was everything we expected and more. The weather was just fine and despite a couple of days of rain it was sweater weather. Great for golf. That little par three course is just what we needed after six months of no golf. It's a great way to start off the season. Your apartment is very comfortable and well appointed. We lacked for nothing It is ten years since we were last in the Algarve and it has mushroomed in the meantime. I'm not sure I'd like to be there in high season - it must be wall to wall with people.
