This place was amazing. The photos just don't do it justice. We can't say enough good things about it. Our extended family of 8, (Mom and Dad, Two daughters and their spouses and children made up 6 adults and two children ages 2 and 6) had an amazing week at this home. The management staff was wonderful, friendly, and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The scenery was magnificent. You felt like you were in your own little world sitting on the huge deck on the very comfy furniture overlooking Superior and listening to the birds and the waves crashing along the ledge rock. Being on vacation for some still means having the conveniences of home and this home had every "modern" convenience we could possibly ever think of that made everyone happy: washer/dryer, dishwasher, wireless internet, satellite TV, DVD player, whirlpool bath tub, PS3, gas and charcoal grills, and an ipod dock on the stereo. It truly felt like a home away from home. Actually it was better! At home we don't have the shores of Superior and everything that comes with it. We had several campfires out on the ledge rock at night with the firewood that was provided. There was enough room for everyone to be together and enough room to have your space when you needed it. It was close enough to town to run in at a moments notice to have pizza at Sven and Ole's or play a round of mini golf, yet it was completely surrounded by woods. We spent a lot of time sightseeing and hiking in Lutsen, on the Gunflint Trail, and over on Isle Royale. We saw deer in the driveway almost every day. We've stayed in many houses over the past 28 years of taking family summer vacations and this was our favorite, by far. It was just such a peaceful relaxing time that we were all sad to go. It is most defiantly a place we plan to visit again some day.
