The cabin is high on the sunny side of the mountain in Cascade with really nice views. It is easily accessible from Highway 24 without the sight and noise of the highway. It is centrally located to many of the attractions in the area, including North Pole/Santa's Workshop, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, etc.
We have 2 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a queen size bed and a half bath. The other bedroom also has a queen size bed and if needed, the twin roll away bed fits nicely in it. The full bath and the half bath have been fully remodeled and we supply the toilet paper and Kleenex.
The kitchen has also been completely remodeled including cabinets, counter tops and most appliances have been updated. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee pot, toaster, plates, silverware, cups, glasses, utensils, mixing bowls, cookware, a blender and a hand mixer. We supply salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash, plastic wrap, plastic baggies, paper towels and foil.
The living room has a fireplace insert, perfect for those chilly nights and we have extra blankets too!
There is a front porch with a porch swing over looking a small yard with a 4 ft. semi-private wood fence and nice mountain views. There is a 2 car carport to park your car.
It is a 5 person maximum occupancy.
The rent is $150.00 per night for a 3 night minimum during peak season and Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year (we will consider 2 nights to fill in spaces where available) and 2 night minimum for the off season. If you rent it for 7 nights or more it's $125 per night. We have to charge a small county tax of 5.13% and a $300.00 damage/cleaning deposit that is refundable if the place is left in good, clean condition. We don't charge up front for a cleaning fee like most places do. If you clean it and leave it like you found it, no charge. We wash the sheets and towels so you don't have to!
We will consider one well behaved, house trained dog of any size by approval only (we have a very specific dog policy).

Possible dog friendly. Please, only well behaved dogs! Must be kenneled/crated when left alone or at night and are not allowed on the furniture or the beds. They cannot be left alone in the yard at anytime because of the wildlife in the area. And they cannot be left alone inside the cabin because even the best dogs when left alone in a strange environment will get anxious and chew, etc....moreless

There is some hiking and biking in the Ute Pass area. Across Highway 24, you'll find Wines of Colorado for good food and spirits. Or take the kids to the North Pole/Santa's Workshop on the Pikes Peak toll road. Take a drive all the way to the top of Pikes Peak and see 'Clear to Kansas' as we say.
It's just a 5 minute drive down Ute Pass to Manitou Springs for a day of shopping, eat in one of the many restaurants or bars, play games at the old Penny Arcade, take the Cog Railway up Pikes Peak, visit Miramont Castle or the Iron Springs Melodrama.
On Highway 24 above Manitou visit the Cave of the Winds, The Cliff Dwellings or further down Highway 24 is the Ghost Town Museum. There is also a Safeway, a Walgreens and gas stations.
A hop, skip and a jump from Manitou, you can hike or bike on one of the many trails in the Garden of the Gods or climb on the red rocks. Close by is Old Colorado City for more shops, dining and bars.
Head to downtown Colorado Springs for shops, dining and a little night life. Also, there is the Pioneer's Museum, the Fine Arts Center, the U.S. Olympic Training Center, the World Arena, or the Air Force Academy located north of Colorado Springs on I25. On the south side of 'The Springs' is the Seven Falls, the famous 5 star Broadmoor Hotel, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo or Fort Carson.
If you go west on Highway 24 from Cascade, you'll come across Green Mountain Falls which is a charming small town that offers a fishing pond or ice skating in the winter, with a Gazebo and several good places to eat. The Pantry for really good breakfasts, lunch and dinner and on nice evenings you can eat outside in the back by the creek and listen to some really good local talent. The Mucky Duck around the corner offers great food also. Or visit the Blue Moose Tavern for drinks and play some pool.
If you go further up Highway 24, in less than a 5 minute drive you'll find Woodland Park which has shops, dining, bars, a Dinosaur Museum, a bowling alley, grocery stores, gas stations and a movie theater.
Drive the scenic highway to Cripple Creek for a day/night of gambling or ride the Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad.

About the owner: Darell's dad, Henry, built this house in 1955 and together with his wife, Dona, they raised 3 boys here. There are lots of memories and stories here. Jeanette grew up in Chipita Park, just down the road. Darell went the first 3 years to the little old school house which is now the Cascade Library. We both went to Ute Pass Elementary School in Chipita Park, then we were bused down the pass to Manitou Springs to Junior High and High School. We now live in Colorado Springs.

After Darell's parents passed away we wanted to buy it because it's such a special place. We decided to share it with other people and we hope everyone will enjoy it as much as we do.
