Killer views, fantastic location

Property very much as advertised and pictures -- ocean front, fantastic views of Lahaina harbor, wonderful whale viewing, etc. No real beach, just a strip of sand that floods at high tide, so be prepared to schlep to beach. Well furnished, but cleanliness was iffy in places (dust, etc.). Biggest disappointment was nonstop construction on unit next door. We had no warning of this (a hotel would tell you, or at least accommodate you), and it killed us as having 2 small children nap during tile cutting and power saws was impossible. Rental owners were polite but made no accommodation or offer of partial refund. Be prepared. As former HI resident, I found the Puamana community residents typical of relocated mainlanders -- they like "their" Hawaii undisturbed, barely tolerate the tourists even though they were once that, and they do not socialize with Hawaiians. We befriended other tourists and the grounds staff, as they were all genuinely friendly. As long as this is ok by you, it is a picturesque and pretty location, and highly recommended for walkability to Lahaina.

Owner response:I was quite surprised by this review as my husband and I had just personally finished cleaning our unit. I even wiped down all the baseboards!! Because we are only 25 feet from the ocean, the tradewinds blow in lots of dust in a matter of just a few hours, but the unit was very clean when we left it only an hour before the guest arrival. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do about the construction noise after the fact. If we had been contacted, I would have spoken to the contractor and asked him to work around the nap schedule. I can understand the frustration of pounding, etc. (no tile work was done last week). The beach at Puamana is constantly changing and therefore we do not make any guarantees regarding its condition. Our unit is oceanfront, not beachfront and that is how it is advertised. Lastly, we have NEVER had a complaint that the residents of Puamana were in any way unfriendly. In fact, many of our guests have told us how much Aloha they experienced during their stay. Our previous guest comments are much more reflective of the vacation experience you can expect if you were to rent our piece of paradise!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Great location, recently remodeled, well cared for grounds and surrounding area. Very quiet and nice pools plus a beach within walking distance. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset each evening right out the back door. I would highly recommend this condo.

Family vacation

My husband and I took our two grown daughters, their husbands, and our 11 year old grandson with us. The photos were great but an understatement. The townhouse was fabulous. We had everything you could want. The cupboards were full of more dishes, pots & pans than a gourmet chef could use. There were all types of spices and oils for cooking. We didn't have to worry about going and buying all of them to cook. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were fully stocked too. The patio was just feet from the ocean and the views were spectacular. Three pools on the property and a beach. What more could someone ask for? The center of Lahaina is close enough to walk if you want to. I highly recommend this townhouse to anyone who wants all the comforts of home in a great vacation spot. Definitely 5 stars!

Such a beautiful home, set in a beautiful location! This is an amazing place to stay. Our 25th anniversary brought us back to Maui for the 2nd time. The home is situated right on the ocean, 30 ft. from the back lanai. We slept to the sounds of the ocean and drank our morning coffee on the patio while watching the surfers. The home is fully equipped with about any you would need. Every bedroom is tastefully decorated and the bathrooms and showers are amazing - beautiful stone and granite. Each bedroom also has its own AC unit & TV (not that you'll be watch it much). We will definitely be back! We highly recommend you stay here for your Hawaiian getaway!!!

Best Vacation Ever

What a spectacular condo. It was fully equiped for our three couples. The view is amazing sitting on the lanai watching the surfers and the sunsets. It is an easy 10 minute walk to all the action on Front Street. We are already counting the days til we can return for another dream vacation on Maui. The only thing that should be brought to your attention is the second bedroom upstairs is very small. There is nothing at all wrong with it but it does not have the view the other two master bedrooms have. This property was our home base for two weeks in Maui and it was truly an awesome vacation. I would highly recommend this property.

We were here with our three teenagers for three weeks, this was our second stay at Puamana . This property is even better than what the photos suggest. It is clean, very well maintained with everything you need (nice bathrooms, very nice kitchen, wifi, air conditionning on both floors, lanai, balcony and ... champagne glasses to enjoy the sunset from the lanai with the ocean 30 feet away). Puamana is a very nice resort, quiet, safe. We did many excursions on the island and we appreciated going to Lahaina close by , Lanai by catamaran, molokai... The owner, Cathy, was very helpful during the reservation process and our stay. We are dreaming of coming back to this unit in the future and we defenitely recommend this unit.

We had a wonderful time here! Great location right by the water; hear the waves from the upstairs bedroom. The condo has been remodeled and is lovely. Also... the Puamana development has a nice surf break out front of the condos for intermediate surfers and it's a 5 min walk from here

We had a great trip while staying at this condo. The unit is exactly as represented and moreover is tastefully furnished with high quality furnishings. The plentiful electronics in the unit are all new or almost new, and the whole setup is carefully and meticulously maintained. The location is also perfect, just outside of Lahina (you can walk) yet in a quiet location and right on the ocean. Visiting Maui, we'd never even consider a different choice.

It simply does not get any better. As a former owner and now renter at Puamana, this is the most beautiful, well equipped and well cared for unit we have ever rented. Steps from the ocean, the lani is perfect to watch the sunset, bar-b-que and enjoy family and friends. Cathy was extremely helpful when booking the reservation and gave us excellent information. Without a doubt, we will always book this condo for our Maui vacations!!

A Truly "Perfect Vacation" Location

Our party of 6 (2 adults + 4 teenagers) LOVED this vacation townhouse. The minute you walk through the front door, you are drawn to the gorgeous views from the lanai. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There was ample room to spread out and relax. TV's in every bedroom (but really, who needs a TV in this spot?), comfy beds, and bathrooms that remind you of a luxury hotel (the view from the masterbath shower is a real standout!) The sounds of the surf lull you to sleep and wake you with a smile each day. Our favorite meal of the week was a BBQ on the lanai. Why pay high prices for a restaurant meal when YOU have the best view on the island? A well-stocked kitchen allows you to cook your favorite meals. The location is just perfect! You are just 5-10 minutes from downtown Lahaina, but are in a very quiet and private part of the gated facility. Our family was looking for a perfect spot away from the crowds and we found it. Staff at the property are very friendly and accomodating. The owner, Cathy, was so helpful and kind. She quickly answered questions to help make our vacation stress-free and memorable. Our favorite activities: road to Hana, snorkling at Molokini, Kapalua & D.T. Fleming Beaches, "Drums of the Pacific" luau at the Hyatt in Kanapali, shopping in Lahaina, Dave & Annabelle's Magic Show (for adults). Kimo's (best Hula Pie) & Cheeseburger in Paradise (our teenager's favorite) in Lahaina are good restaurants with awesome oceanfront views. We have rented many properties from VRBO over the years. This is an incredible property that suits the needs of the entire family. The upgraded, spacious condo is in a great location (steps away from the ocean and short walk to Front Street in Lahaina). I would highly recommend to family and friends. We had a wonderful time!!

We stayed at this beach front townhome in June '09 for our daughter's wedding. The location is incredible, having coffee in the morning or drinks at sunset was so relaxing on the lanai. The unit was equipped with literally everything you need. The recent updates to the home were very much appreciated. The memories we made there will last forever for our family. Thank you! My husband and I treated our 2 adult children and their spouses to 10 days in Maui. This condo is fabulous and is even more impressive than the pictures show. We could not have found anything more perfect - 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom plus an extra full bathroom. We woke up every morning to the sound of the waves and watched the surfers right outside. The lanai had a large table with six chairs along with 2 more chairs and 2 lounge chairs. We barbecued and lit the tiki torches - it was unbelievable. The oceanside pool is so unique. We contacted the owner more than once with questions and were always answered immediately. Puamana is centrally located - we were able to go to all parts of the island easily and relatively quickly. We would definitely recommend this unit.

we spent 2 weeks here in April 09, and had a wonderful stay, the property is very impressive. Having my morning coffee on the Lanai, and watching the whales jumping was marvelous.The condo seemed to swallow the 6 adults and 2 children with room to spare. We will return,and I have highly recommend this property to my friends
