Spacious in the Heart of Stockholm Archipelago

Vaxholm is a picturesque town in the heart of the Stockholm archipelago. World unique nature, lots of activities and a lively town yet only 30-45 min away by car, bus or boat from the city center of Stockholm. The town was founded in the 14th century and has for hundreds of years been the backbone in the defense of Stockholm from attacks by sea. Today it is the center of marine activities in the Archipelago and a popular high end residential suburb of Stockholm. Vaxholm municipality consists of a total of 57 islands and our house is located at one of the largest ones - Resarö (the island has car access).
Our architect created a house that is “classic on the outside – modern on the inside”. The plot is 1500 m2 (16,150 ft2) of garden and a large wooden deck surrounds 3 sides of the house. The 220 m2 (2400 ft2) house (built in 2011) has large common areas, 4 bedrooms (9 beds in total), 3 full bathrooms, a sauna, a laundry room and a small office. The house has stunning sea views and is located at an island that offers plenty of outdoor activities – lots of small harbors and boat life, a large forest for hiking, beaches, possibility to rent canoes and kayaks etc. In addition there is a separate guest house with full bathroom, small kitchenette and sleeping loft, sleeping a total of 6 persons.
We envision a large family (perhaps with grandma/grandpa joining) as guests – a property that has 4 bathrooms and 9+6 beds is not easy to find. Here you also have a beautiful two-way fireplace, a new Weber BBQ on the wood deck, great wifi Internet in the whole property, Sonos music system, and a sauna where you see the cruise ships passing by in the distance. So come explore the Swedish Archipelago and Stockholm while being comfortable in our house.
We have a summer house in Southern Sweden so we are primarily looking for guests during July-August and during typical Swedish holidays such as Christmas and Easter time. If you end up being here during the beautiful winter time we can tell you that the floors in the entire house are heated.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: I’m the dad in a family of 5 who loves traveling and have had the good fortune to do plenty of that. During our travels, often with the kids, we usually rent apartments/holiday homes around the world and believe it’s the way to be both comfortable and for a short while be part of a normal life neighborhood. As we spend a lot of time in our holiday home in the South of Sweden we are looking to rent our home during the summer months of July/August. We are here ready to help you and we do know Stockholm. We also have a Stockholm city center apartment so combos are available. We speak English, Spanish and Swedish. My wife also has Portuguese and German on her language list. So don’t hesitate – get in touch.
Why the Owner Chose Stockholm:
Vaxholm provides a unique atmosphere. So much going on and such tranquility at the same time. The town founded in the 14th century to protect Stockholm from attacks at sea is a charming center of the marine life in the archipelago. And you are only 30-45 min away from the city of Stockholm – by car, boat/ferry or buss.
