    My wife, baby daughter and I had an outstanding experience staying at this stunning location. The views and sunlight in the suite are amazing. We took advantage of the trails that start right out the door. We found the suite to be clean, well cared for and even came with an excellent wine. We have already recommended this rental to friends and are already looking forward to our next visit.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

    We had a terrific time staying at Mark and Judi's, close to our children who live nearby. The studio is large, the deck a wonderful place to breakfast, the hosts helpful and generous in offering clean sheets and towels midway through our twelve day stay. We hope to visit again when we are in CA.

    Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    I am writing for my parents who stayed at Mark's and Judi's studio while visiting us from Switzerland and I have to stay that they loved it! The view from the studio and the three decks was just astonishing! They really enjoyed their little breakfast down at the pool deck overlooking Marin. The studio was very clean and charming and Mark and Judi were just the best hosts. My parents felt very much at home there. We can only recommend it.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    My mother and I stayed here for a few weeks and it was perfect. We could come and go easily with out disturbing them, cook our own meals in the full kitchen, and had the privacy of our own house. Also the place was very spacious, comfortable, and the decoration was welcoming. The view from the room was wonderful and there was a walking path just up the road from the place with a wonderful view. I recommend staying here highly for short or long periods of time.

    Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    My wife and I really enjoyed this "gem in the hills" as I call it. It did indeed have a fabulous view and the apt. itself was filled with natural light which made it uplifting to return to at the end of the day. A beautiful deck and small pool were added benefits. It was not far by car to shops & restaurants or any destinations in Marin County. This is also a very well equipped apt, all of which meant we ate in more than out since it was so pleasant to be there.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    All of the comments that have been said here are so true! This rental was such a great place to stay. We fell in love with the town of San Rafael, as well as with Mark and Judi's vacation destination. It was close to San Francisco, Napa Valley, Muir Woods and many other attractions. The hiking trails in the hills at the end of the street were fun too. The rental is filled with every extra you can think of and is very comfortable. The view was amazing and the pool and hot tub were a great plus. You won't go wrong with this place. Enjoy your stay in San Rafael!

    Thank you very much, Mark and Judi, for your hospitality during our stay at your place last week. The studio is comfortable and fully equipped, very cosy for the rainy days we had. Glorious when the sun came out (we enjoyed breakfast by your pool). Hot tub was great. Thanks for your restaurant and hiking recommendations, all good. We used your place as a base for exploring the Bay area and wine country, you've got a perfect location. Thanks again for a great week.

    We loved our stay in the studio in July and August 2008, Everything we needed or may have needed was there As for the pool and dexk it was great to soak up that Californian Sun each day St Rafael is a great town with plenty to do and it a great base for Northern California

    Dear Mark and Judi, Thank you so very much for having us! It was a delightful abode and we can't say enough nice things about it or the two of you. Great night views and what a perfect place to wake up! The wine was a special treat and we so enjoyed it. We'll look for Taft St in the future. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. We also really enjoyed the hot tub on the nights we were able to use it - and we appreciated your heating it up for us. Russell loved the comfy robe to wear around the room (me too) and I can't think of anything we'd do differently. We'd love to come back and will tell our friends. The park at the top of the hill was the icing on the cake - perfect. We rent through vrbo quite a bit and your place was really so special! I was in heaven the entire trip.     Staying at this fabulous hilltop home was wonderful.After staying in busy San Francisco for several nights we ventured to San Rafael what a wonderful surprised. The house is located on top of a hill with a gorgious view. We were able to walk daily on the hiking trail which was much needed after hitting the resturants in San Rafael.Venturing to surrounding areas was very easy(Muir Beach, Mt Tam.,Golden Gate National Park, wine country,and San Francisco)bring your camera.The studio was very clean, well equiped, peaceful with wonderful sunrises.There was a morning where the clouds were just below us San Francisco in the background it was as if you could step out and walk over on the clouds.Oh be prepared lots of deer walk through the neighorhood fantastic!Great rental we highly recommend and we would definitely return. Great BIG THANK YOU to Mark and Judi

    We had an amazing stay at Mark & Judi's apartment. It is a quiet and comfortable studio. Mark and Judi ensured that we had everything we needed and even more! Well located for visiting San Francisco, wineries, Stinson Beach, Muir wood, etc. It was nice to cool off in the swimming pool at the end of the day. Mark & Judi, thank you for everything you really contributed to making our stay great vacations.

    I had a lovely stay in this quiet, very comfortable apartment. It has fantastic views and great walks 50 metres away. Also Mark and Judi, the kind and friendly owners are very helpful and there's great wifi access as well. I'm trying to get back later this year!

    What a terrific 'home base' for anyone visiting the SF area. We were there to visit our son, his wife and new baby, and the kitchen proved ideal for cooking some meals for the new parents to freeze for busy days. (Everything I needed was available, including some spices. Oh, and a dishwasher!) The rest of the apartment was welcoming after busy days, with home-like comforts and amenities, including special touches like shampoo and lotion. It's a perfect location: near everything and has a million-dollar-view. Thanks, Mark and Judi; expect us back!

    Your studio was the perfect retreat for us after days of helping our daughter find a house to rent in Berkeley. We would start our day with a fantastic hike and end it by coming home to a quiet sanctuary. Thank you for the cozy,comfortable vacation rental. You just can't beat that view!

    My girlfriend and I went for 6 nights in Mark and Judy's apartment, and we have to say that the experience has been very pleasant. The room was very clean and roomy. The deck was awesome, sun-drenched during the day with a great view of the mountains nearby. Near Wine Country also. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Michel Boyce

    As a family of 4 (couple with a 4 year old boy and a 5-month old baby) we truely enjoyed the accomodation which suited us perfectly. Decoration is simple and warm and of good quality. Room size is perfect. Attention to detail is ensured by Judy - you will not miss anything in the kitchen nor in the bathroom. View is brilliant. Location is ideal, not far from SFO while at the doorsteps of the Tamalpais mountains and just a few miles from stunning beaches. Vast choice of local restaurants. Will definitely go back at next ooportunity.

    We had a great stay. Enjoyed all the walks up on the hills, the quit of the place, the sun out on the deck (in December!!!), the friendly and very helpfull hosts, the comfort of the studio. All was well. A good place from where we could do our studies and enjoy our spare time! We will be back.

    Lovely apartment with a fabulous view of the hills and bay, I woke every morning early to walk the trails and see the moon set and the sun rise. I couldnt have asked for a more serene setting. Inside was comfy and cozy. Nice bath and kitchen! Would love to come again. Thanks

    I work for a local company and this was a great alternative to the usual hotels. Great bed and kitchen and great WiFi access for me to work. Nice and quiet too. I'll be back.

    Had a wonderful 2-week stay. Spacious comfortable studio with good kitchen facilities, nice hot tub, lovely views and great hosts. Conveniently situated for visits to the city, the wine country, the Marin coast and the pretty little communities of Larkspur, Tiburon etc. Would love to make a return visit.

    This is a very cozy and inviting unit, with lots of extra touches like mints on the pillows, nice soaps/shampoos, quality dishware, plentiful books and videos, very comfortable queen bed. The owners are friendly, kind, and cordial. Nice walking trail nearby with great views. Although for the most part we didn’t need it, be advised the unit is not air-conditioned.

    We loved the apartment. Everything was very comfortable, bright and cheerful. The view from the house was spectacular as well as trail near the house. The house is so high the birds fly below you. I highly recommend this place and would stay there again.

    Perfect place to stay. The beds are so comfty, lots of books to read when you relax by the pool. Views are fabulous! Kitchen has all the essentials. The trail above the house provides vistas to San Francisco and Oakland too. Location to many areas is great. Would stay here again for sure. Thanks
