Marfa is a one of a kind town. It's a peaceful West Texas getaway, with a high desert climate. I can not recommend another house to stay while in Marfa. Jud's listing is accurate and he was in constant communication and extremely helpful. The property is well maintained and the backyard is huge! Appliances were all maintained as well and we were even able to grill in the back. Definitely recommended and I will be staying here again when I visit Marfa again. As ElizaBeth B., mentioned...bring a bike!

Pure Marfa Bliss
Pure Marfa Bliss
I have stayed in all sorts of places in Marfa over the years and this house is the most spacious, artistic and comfortable. It captures the true essences of West Texas. The kitchen is large and the dining room has the most beautiful light looking out over a large yard and the wide West Texas sky. I can't wait to go back and bring a dog and a bicycle. (You can ride your bike to anywhere around the little strip there) There is also a great selection of books and DVDs on hand and the solitude of the home lends itself to possibly not leaving it at all (if that might be the scenario you are looking for.) I had to work at a festival in Alpine most of the time I was there but I looked forward to returning to the house collapsing in the comfy bed every night. It was in perfect shape when we got there and tried to show it the respect it deserves by leaving as close to the same way as when we arrived. The doors and the leather handles on many of the doors are exceptionally charming. I'll try to stay here every time I can get out there.

About the owner: I am a guitar player who lives in Austin, Texas. I've been lucky to play with a lot of really great songwriters and bands. I've spent a lot of years touring and on the move, this home is where I go to center myself.
Why the Owner Chose Marfa:
Over the years I've realized that the far west region of Texas is where I hope to live one day. This home is the embodiment of that hope. This area is one of the most inspiring places I have ever been. I hope you find as much peace and rejuvenation here as I have.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I loved this place the minute I walked in it. The adobe walls, the morning light coming through the dining room windows, the cool fresh air and the quiet of the place. It's also a twenty minute walk to downtown Marfa.
