  Dear Craig & Lori, Thank you so much for sharing your place with us! It was like a little piece of heaven! Our honeymoon was amazing and unforgettable. We absolutely loved everything the condo had to offer. It was such a peaceful, relaxing place, and we look forward to coming back and reliving it again! We'll definitely refer friends to you.   After reading JJ's post about Terrasol, I felt compelled to write my own review of the property.My wife and I stayed in this unit the week before JJ's visit and had a different impression. The unit is pretty much "as advertised" and in no way does it misrepresent itself. However, we did choose this location and this unit in particular because of the rooftop deck, but did not use it at all. At that time of the year, it was absolutely sweltering up there. Other times of the year, it might be quite pleasant. Also, the view from the deck is mostly of the parking lot...something to consider. The interior of the condo was very nice at this price. Wifi signal was excellent and we enjoyed the cable tv. I have no idea what the issue about the water pressure in the shower was all about because we found it to be fine. We did experience some minor flooding as we happened to stay during a downpour from a hurricane. When we returned to our unit, there was water coming in from outside the balcony and the carpets were wet. We wiped up the excess water and everything was fine, although it did smell a little. It rarely rains in Cabo, so I have little to blame the owner for. I cannot imagine a scenario where someone would need to "bail out" the condo and I am guessing this is mostly hyperbole. I can't recall if the unit was advertised as "beachfront" or not, but it is a 2 minute walk to the beach and this was such a non-issue, that I suspect that any complaints are someone trying to argue their way into a free stay. The property is nice (a litte dated) but more than okay for this price range. The pools were nice, Mario the bartender was great and the morning walks along the beach were spectacular. If you are looking for a nice place to stay at a reasonable price, I would recommend Terrasol.

• The Good, Bad, and ugly

  Well where do I start?? Lets start with the Good, That only seems fair, Communication with Craig was excellant, The location of the Terrasol is fantastic, The views are incredible, BUT don't let Them fool you this is NOT beach front, it is beach view, anyway more on that later, The staff at the terrasol are very good, Carlos did what he could with what he had, The staff down stairs in the dining area is very good, and the food is quite good. Having wireless internet and shaw satellitte were excellant bonus' The Bad.. Well They state his condo is beach front, when in fact it has a good view ( typical realtor marketing). Craig also mentioned he had a professional property management person come in and evaluate his propertys, to be polite she must have been drunk when evaluating it. The stove didn't work while we were there except for 1 burner, ( that got repaired) the stove fan didn't work, and never did get repaired, The water pressure in the shower was the worst I had ever experienced, The washer in the condo was awful, and it stopped working completley, this did not seem to be a big concern to the owners. The Ugly Well here is where it really gets bad, and keep in mind there is only so much the owners have control in some instances, The condo LEAKS perfusley, yes you have to understand that concrete quiality in Cabo isn't the best, but after reviweing our issues with other condo tennents our place had to be the worst of the bunch, we were up ALL NIGHT one night literally bailing the place out, with water pouring in the balcony doors, when craig was made aware of this he offered to have us stay at his bed and breakfast, so.. That showed me how much he cared about his condo, If we hadn't of stayed everything in the condo would have been ruined, He didn't even offer us any help, about 4 in the afternoon, after the storm had passed the maids came and cleaned, The looks on thier faces were complete horror, and of course I HAD TO PAY FOR MAID service. And when I brought the balcony doors up to some other tenants they didn't have this issue, So my conclusion is poor maintenence, and lack of caring by the owners, In conclusion... I feel bad for giving the resort a 2, when in fact the resort deserves a 4 and the ownwers deserve a minus 1 ( They did give me a bottle of wine as compensation) He also offered a discount on future stays, I would stay at the Terrasol again, I just wouldn't stay at a property owned by Craig

  From the moment i arrived, i felt relaxed, refreshed and invigorated. The condo is equipped with all the necessities of home, a neat and tidy TV lounge, a large LCD TV with 1000's of channels, great comfy king bed, large sunroof bathroom, large outdoor patio to suntan, BBQ and sip Margarita's at sunset. The roof deck has a comfy night mattress for outdoor romantic evenings and star gazing, with a hammock for reading and relaxing, sun loungers and a umbrella for shade. The view out onto Land's End is awe inspiring! I witnessed the splendid fireworks from the Marina every week and was treated to the spectacular view of Full Thunder Moon. I spent many a night star gazing from the amazingly comfortable roof deck and listening to the ocean. The hummingbirds greeted me every early morning. The resort is equipped with a descent gym, library, main pool includes a bar and restaurant where you'll enjoy the company of Mario and be pampered to your hearts content. Land's End is magical and offers a lovely long walk from Solmar all the way to Capella. You can even reach Lovers Beach from Land's End. The staff are super pleasant. Everything is so close by for convenience, the Marina is a 5 minute walk with all boat rides, sunset cruisers, fishing boats etc... as well as good restaurants, shopping and loads of night life entertainment. There is also a small convenience store 3 minutes away. I could not have asked for a better vacation break. I certainly will be back!

  Owner response: This is the first time that I met Paula, who rented this unit when she was living in San Diego. Co-incidentally, she happens [like me] to be a South African, so when we found that out, we got together. She told me that she owned a Property Management Company in South Africa, and was in North America, looking to relocate to either San Diego, or Mexico. I asked her to let me know during her stay if there were any things "wrong" with this unit ...... as well as our Terrasol 3BR Penthouse [15309] and our very large Terrasol 2BR [13639], "if she had time". Well, she did a Professional Analysis & Report with Recommendations. So, after finding out that she had the time & flexibility to stay on ........... I gave her a couple of "free weeks" in 236, on the understanding the she would preside over the implementation of ALL the improvements she recommended, for all 3 units. This turned out to be an incredibly good move on my part - she extended her Cabo-stay and got a "freebee" from me, but I ended up with three units, that are now in "tip-top shape", so you, the Reader - can enjoy your stay with us in Cabo in the future !! Thanks Paula-Sean and good luck as you transition your lives from South Africa to Cabo !! And if you do continue to make Cabo your home, count me as "your first client" .................. !   Craig, thank you so much for sharing your Terrasol  unit 236 with us.  We honestly couldn't have been happier with it.  Upon arrival we couldn't get in right away because the people who rented it before us left passed the check-out time. (by no means your fault) we were driven by cart down to the pool and bar area to wait for it to be cleaned.  This was not a problem as golf was on and we were introduced to Mario and his awesome margaritas.  They came back to pick us up and drive us to unit 236. I can see why it took so long to get in, the cleaning staff had everything just sparkling.  When we first walked in the view of the ocean, and the sound of the waves, just hit us.  The balcony is larger then I thought it was going to be, with wonderful outdoor furniture.  The inside of the condo couldn't be any cuter with all the Mexican accessories.  Everything one could ever need for a comfortable stay was there. Then we walked up the stairs to check out the roof top deck, which was one of the reasons we picked this unit.  Great view of the marina from up there.  We then walked in to town for dinner and check out the marina.  By the time we got back we were exhausted and went up to the deck.  We put up the hammock and said we would rest for a little while........we woke up at 3am. All I can say to anyone looking online at this unit is go for it you won't be sorry.  For what Craig rents it for it is one of the best deals in Cabo.  Craig was great to work with, he sent us wonderful, helpful information on the area.  (things to do, restaurants to try, and transportation) Whenever I emailed him I heard back from him within an hour or two. I like how he lives in the area too , I knew if something went wrong he would be able to take care of it in a timely fashion Terrasol is a beautiful, well kept resort.  We had the best of both worlds staying here.  We could walk to where all the action is and then come back to the peacefulness of Terrasol. I hope to return soon, and I will try to rent this unit again. Till next time, Kathy and McGregor

You will be pleased to know, that although you said that it was pretty much perfect, we have a friend [from South Africa] that owns and manages properties back home, staying in all our condos over the next month - and today, she, with the Manager of Terrasol and his Maintenance and Gardening staff, supervised by my friend, are methodically going through each unit - and upgrading, replacing and repairing "everything" !!   First of all I have to thank Craig and Lori for all of their help and advice on our trip, and for this wonderful condo. It was all we could have asked for, the view is amazing, not a day went by when we didnt see a whale from our balcony, the rooftop deck is perfect for sunbathing. The condo itself is very spacious for two and the king bed very comfy! This was my third trip to Cabo and when i make my fourth this is where i will stay!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

  My husband and I just stayed here for a week for a romantic birthday getaway and it was perfect, except that it was so relaxing and peaceful we largely ditched our plans to partake in all the available Cabo activities. The unit is very comfortable and just the right size for two. We enjoyed the ocean breezes while inside and really enjoyed sitting on the patio or the rooftop terrace and watching for whales or just taking in the sound and beauty of the surf. Terrasol is in a perfect location, with beautiful beach and a short walk to the marina and hundreds of restaurant options, yet the complex itself is probably the most peaceful in the area. Craig the owner of this unit was very responsive to all my many questions and very easy to work with. Note that to get access to wireless Internet here you have to cross the small parking lot to the clubhouse, but since this actually reduced the amount of time we spent checking messages from work it was ok for us. This was our first trip to Cabo and we are planning to return; it has so much to offer. Stay at Terrasol, enjoy having the pool and the palapa bar almost to yourself during the day and head to town or the Playa Grande next door if you want the bustle of lots of other tourists in the evening. (Check out the forums on tripadvisor.com, especially the Cabo forums, for answers to every imaginable question about Cabo, car rentals, activity, money,and all the fabulous restaurants.) Also, renting from an owner through VRBO can save a lot of the hidden fees and taxes of hotel stays in Cabo.

  Well, we just got back home from an incredible Cabo-visit .......... we could not get into the condo for a week [they were booked], so the owners [now friends] who have a spectacular B&B in Cabo as well, suggested we split the vacation - spending the first few days in their unit at their condo, then end off our stay at their B&B. It is hard to imagine a nicer unit. It has a spectacularly large first floor Deck, which wraps from the spacious bedroom with king bed & wonderful vaulted ceilings - to the living room - dining room, kitchen and bar area, but that's just the beginning. Take the stairs from their entrance hall up to their Roof-Deck - and you have a panoramic view of all that Lands' end offers - we even see the first whales of the season from the decks as they passed Terrasol, and watched the fishing boats leaving the marina while sipping coffee in the early am !! They apparantly are the only owners with a roof deck, it's private and great, we slept on the roof [under the stars] one evening !! We love Cabo and are already planning to return .............

  I recently returned from a vacation in Cabo ..................... and it was "made" by the location of Terrasol, and by this unit - I was there for two weeks, actually met a lot of renters when I was down there, and we hung out together, in each others units. I can honestly say that the consensus was that this unit [which has obviously recently gone through a complete overhaul, fresh paint, new wood etc.], was the clear favorite of all of "us renters" - I stayed here 5 years ago, and the new tiles on the Roof Deck, upgraded furniture, bed etc., were all a pleasant addition and a plus - but "the bones" of this condo - are unbeatable !! I'll be back ............. for a 3rd time !!

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
