  7 of us stayed at Cayuga Cottage for a girl's weekend getaway wine tour. Upon arrival we found the accommodations in order. Our only difficulty was that we arrived at night and it was difficult to navigate the property to clearly identify the cottage. The heat was on when we arrived and the house was clean. The beds were comfortable and we had all of the necessary items (towels, toilet paper, fully stocked kitchen) to meet our needs. One recommendation is that if you enjoy wine and would like to enjoy wine from a proper glass, bring your own as they are not provided. We were not in the cottage much as we were gone most of the day on Saturday on a wine tour and left early Sunday morning. The time we spent there was very comfortable. I would most certainly recommend staying there.

You are quite correct that it gets very dark and very quite at Cobtree late at night but is beautiful when the full moon comes over the lake on a clear night. Simply breathless. Although each of our homes do have a name and number plaque by the door and there is also a site plan on our own web site showing the locations of all of our properties, it can take a couple of minutes to locate your property when it is pitch black outside. Jane and I are perplexe3d about the wine glasses though. All of our homes are fully equipped and all have long stem wine glasses in one of the cupboards. My only guess is that you must have looked for them in the wrong one. I did go and check the property this afternoon and wine glasses were there. 12 of them in fact.   Just back from another great stay at Cobtree. We stayed in the Keuka Cottage and everything was perfect!. So quiet and peaceful. The cottage was spotless! Beds are so comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Our Lab had a great time, especially meeting other doggie "guests". We will be back!

  Description provided was accurate and excellent. The photos did match the write up on line. Property was clean and well maintained, the owners were friendly and cooperative, there were extra propane tanks for the barbie, and would recommend these units for self catering. Only issue with Hemlock was loud pump noise under the first floor at night but we managed. Beds were super comfortable, clean and well provided. We did not know that pets frequent the homes as this has been an issue previously in rentals. We would most definitely stay here again in the future if the need arose.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  We had a wonderful weekend at Cobtree. This is our second stay in one of the cabins. We love that it fits all of our needs. We like that the kitchen has everything that we need. We love renting the house since usually there are four of us and this time there was six. It beats staying in a hotel and not all being together. The cabins have always been clean and the grounds are well kept. We will probably stay there again.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  We were a little apprehensive back in October 2008 when we booked out first week at Cobtree. It was the first time we made reservations over the Internet. Well, we loved that week so much we have just returned from our eighth visit. The setting is exquisite –farmland, woods and a beautiful view of Lake Seneca. Yet 10 minutes away is Wegmans and a number of fine restaurants. Each day we choose a different State Park or waterfalls as our destination –with stops along the way at the wonderful Finger Lakes wineries. And we have our lovely cottage or cabin at Cobtree to come home to. Our dogs love walking in the woods every morning and evening. Jack and I look forward to our breakfast on the deck and our glass of wine in the evening watching the sun set. You really don’t have to bring a thing. It is the most well-equipped place we have ever stayed. And Robert and Jane are wonderful hosts -- warm and welcoming. We have travelled throughout Europe and the US over the years, but Cobtree is now our only vacation destination.

  Our stay in the Hemlock Cabin was everything we expected and MORE!! The cabin was exactly as listed, size, layout, amenities....The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy your stay, from pots&pans, glasses, even coffee, filters, tea and a wine bottle opener! :) The cabin was immaculately clean and welcoming. We will not only recommend this to friends and relatives but will be returning ourselves! Cant wait to come in warm weather to enjoy the views from the porch! We enjoyed the proximity to all the vineyards. We always love walking around Watkins Glen and took in Sushi from Hong Restaurant! Thanks again!

  This was our second time staying at the cabin. The photos and descriptions on the website are completely accurate. The property was clean,with a fully stocked kitchen.Free Wi Fi and free use of the land line phone was very useful considering that cellphone reception was spotty at best. A washer and dryer in the cabin made life ALOT easier! Besides all the wineries nearby, our family was able to enjoy hiking to waterfalls, biking on lake trails, kayaking,horseback riding, and blueberry picking! The owners Robert and Jane live on the property and are a wealth of information. As a whole,the entire stay was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I believe that our rates whilst not being the cheapest rates available for a rental property in this region, I do believe that our rates offer very good value for money because our base rates do include 7.5% sales tax, free WIFI, cable TV with over 800 channels to choose from, free USA and Canada wide telephone calls, Air-Conditioning, no additional cleaning fees payable on check out, no commissions or booking fees, no security deposits, free trash removal and recycling, campfire areas with wood available to burn, a fully equipped deluxe home with everything you need as well as a propane gas BBQ unit with free gas refills. No, we may not be the cheapest place to stay in the Finger Lakes region but based on the many online reviews we have been fortunate to receive from our many guests, we believe we are the best place to stay when you visit the Finger Lakes!   What a wonderful weekend stay at Cobtree Vacation Rental Resort. Greeted by the rich smell of cedar, our log cabin quickly became home with the comfortable furniture and luxurious linens. The beds gave us all great night’s sleep and everything we needed for a great weekend away was ideally placed throughout the home. If I had to choose a favorite part, it would be the great front porch for it’s comfortable furniture and great views. We plan on coming back to Lake Geneva for many years and plan on staying at Robert and Jane’s Cobtree homes for each and every year.

  Owner response: The beds at Cobtree are renowned for giving our guests a good nights sleep particularly the beds in our log cabins. Night time is also a great time at Cobtree as being out in the countryside and with very little ambient light, the night sky is simply stunning and if you have an IPhone4 there is a neat little AP that you can download (using our free WIFI on site of course) that you can use to locate all the stars and planets by name and see the galaxies. Sitting out under the porch of one of our log cabins is such a joyful experience together with friends drinking for example, a locally produced wine or a beer from one of the many local micro breweries located in the Finger Lakes.
