Oak Bluffs house description
This 3 bedroom 2 bath Cape style house has an open living-kitchen-dining area, one bedroom and bath on first floor, and 2 bedrooms with skylights separated by a landing and a shared bath with tub on second floor. The amazing part of this adorable house is the light! Light pours in from every angle/every window and the newly constructed entrance with cathedral ceiling even has three windows in it to maximize light.
The living room has new chairs and couch, a flat screen TV and DVD player, and WIFI is available. Cell phones and smart phones work reliably in this home! Art galore. Never a mildew smell! Recently updated with all appliances new or within a few years. Includes d/w in kitchen and all appliances, as well as w/d in the full basement. All flooring is oak, and bedrooms are carpeted with additional Mexican throw rugs.
A long oyster shell driveway (about 100 feet) between mature trees allows for privacy and peacefulness with the house not visible from the road. On the side of the house is a wood-burning, beautiful sauna. A lovely outdoor shower will (hopefully) be built in spring near to the sauna for easy access. In summer and spring the property has flowered trees, bushes and flowers. The property is set on a 1/2 acre and is surrounded by mature trees, flowering bushes and backed by a forested area. A wood deck off the kitchen is accessed by sliding glass doors. Very private, peaceful, relaxing setting.
The house has always had one owner and no renters. It was built in the mid-90's with some renovations in 2010 and more in 2012. This is a lovely, well kept, well-loved house that would be perfect for a couple or a small family or good friends. ...Well stocked, art filled, interesting throw rugs. Tidy and easy upkeep. A delightful place to hang out in or just use as a home base for island adventures.
On a peaceful street and an easy walk or bike to Eastville Beach on the Sound. The bike path is right in front of the house! We are located mid way between Oak Bluffs Center and Vineyard Haven, a mile+ in either direction. Easy to walk, bike or bus to the towns and all the fabulous beaches and sites on the island. Great central location!

The description of the house was accurate & the photos accurately reflected the houses appearance. The property was clean & well maintained. We came to the house during the first week of September for a ladies weekend of fun & relaxation. This was the perfect spot, sunlight played through every part of the house making it easy to enjoy the backyard & front yard views. The owner was helpful in answering questions about the house & the island. I would recommend this property to friends & relatives.

I was looking for a house to accommodate an annual "Girls Week" vacation and this house was ideal! The owner was a pleasure to deal with- very accommodating and helpful with everything. The house was very cute, updated and clean. The location was perfect- situated right between Vineyard Haven & Oak Bluffs, which allowed us to take either ferry. We were able to walk to the beach (about 20 min walk) and jump in inexpensive taxis at night. The house is set off the main road, which gives it peace and quiet. The backyard is beautiful with gardens and a nice patio. Overall- we had a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this rental.

A Friends' Vacation
i arrived with two friends the Thursday before Memorial Day Week-End. The house was filled with light and very welcoming. It is nicely furnished with open space in the living room dinning and kitchen area. You can see the large backyard with the vegetable garden from the eating area.. the outdoor deck of the eating area is another pleasant area to dine or just hang-out and watch the birds. It felt very private and is located in a lovely area for walking biking and watching the sunsets at eh nearby beach. The house was clean and well kept with no bleach, mildew or moldy smell. We all plan to return.

A bucolic thanksgiving on the island.
A bucolic thanksgiving on the island.
As soon as we arrived at the house, I felt as though I was in a Norman Rockwell painting. The house and grounds were covered in snow. My family and I were immediately comfortable and charmed. The house had the feeling of home. The furnishings and art were tasteful and lent the house a personality that added to the holiday experience. The perks were exactly as described. The family had a great time after our thanksgiving feast, donning bathing suits and running through the brisk (35 degree) air to the detached sauna. The bedrooms were charming and comfortable. There was ample outdoor space on the property for the kids to play. The pictures on this site do not do the home justice. We would totally recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a special family experience. The owner was enormously helpful and personable. We LOVED being there and look forward to returning.

About the owner: New Yorker fell in love with the vineyard years ago as a visitor and renter.
Why the Owner Chose Oak Bluffs:
Having looked at many homes which had the 3BR, 2BA configuration I needed through a number of years, I fell in love with the long lovely oyster-shell driveway nestled between full trees, especially the gigantic holly tree at the end of the driveway. House was tidy and contained and as I walked through the light filled rooms to the deck and amazing vegetable garden in the large yard, I said 'this is MY house.' and so it was
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It was the light! the ease and dollhouse quality of what seemed like a perfect 'no project' house for me and for my grown kids. And the piece de resistance was the totally charming stand-alone sauna at a tiny distance from the house.
