A Shade of Blues is a luxury villa on the hillside above Princess Margaret beach in Bequia, an island in The Grenadines. The Apartment sits privately at the top of the building with its own balcony. Each bedroom / bath area is the same size. The eat-in kitchen is nicely equipped for holiday living with your own bbq outside.
The rooms have cathedral style ceilings and are cooled with ceiling fans in all areas - including the balcony.
A shared pool is perfect for cooling off during the daytime...but you will really enjoy swimming at Princess Margaret, which you can walk to / from in your bathing suits. At early morning or sunset periods you can be the only person in the water...a turtle sometimes swims offshore...magic!
The apartment faces west....wonderful for enjoying sundowners and the often magnificent sunsets.
You have the option, at additional cost, of more housekeeping services.
There is a beautiful cliff-side Trail from Princess Margaret into The Harbour or over to Lower Bay, so can walk most everywhere.
About Bequia: To find out more about this unspoilt, beautiful island, google bequiatourism.com. It's all there... Go to Activities / Bequia This Week to get a flavor of nightlife. Expect more music and dancing during the winter season.
Bequia is less expensive than Barbados. There are inexpensive places to eat out.
There is no need to hire a vehicle, unless you do not like to walk. The island is small, and safe for walking. Taxis are fun and inexpensive - either a boat or back of a pick-up truck (although now there are a couple of air conditioned vans too!). And very cheap dollar (EC$) buses run the main route from harbour to airport-side (but not to the airport).
About travel to Bequia: Please feel free to email with any questions. Bequia remains special largely because it requires more effort to get there. As most tourists choose to return, most find it well worth it!
Money: The local currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar ($EC). This is tied to the US dollar at 2.67. Local currency is easily obtained from the two holes in the wall / automatic tellers in the harbour - remember to tell your bank that you are traveling to St Vincent & The Grenadines before you leave home.
US dollars are always well received.
Almost all restaurants and shops take credit cards.
Each bathroom area has 2 vanities with sinks, an outdoor shower with solar powered hot water, and a separate wc.
It is wonderful showering with a view of the stars!...moreless
The apartment is located at the top of the property with its own access, nicely independent.
The pool is available for apartment guests between 9 am and 9 pm, shared with residents in the main house below.
Children are welcome, but there are open steps up to the property that could be dangerous for the very young.
The house was completed in 2010. Fixtures and furnishings are of the same vintage. Landscaping is work-in-progress.
Access to the apartment will add to fitness levels. There are magnificent views because it is located high above the beach...please be prepared for steps up....moreless

Located at Princess Margaret Beach on Bequia, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in The World. Walk to and from the beach and Jack's Bar - an exceptional Caribbean beach bar & restaurant - in your swim gear.
There is a beautiful cliff-side Trail into The Harbour (Port Elizabeth) or over to Lower Bay.
The island is a favourite destination in the Caribbean for sailors from all over the world. It is common to see the world's most expensive yachts moored offshore. Yachties love restaurants and bars, so Bequia offers an excellent choice. The island also has some good musicians.
Popular with divers and walkers; the most experienced divers are not disappointed. Bequia has undeveloped countryside with majestic views when 'out and about'. There are no big resorts.
Swimming is wonderful at Princess Margaret. The water is usually clear for snorkelling around the headland and there is a sophisticated beach bar with great food. Jack's Bar provides a jetty to catch water taxis to the harbour where the dive boats, shops, and more bars and restaurants are located.
Facing west, the views are wonderful and the sunsets magical.
Day trips to Mustique, St Vincent, Tobago Cays, or to a deserted small island for picnics and snorkelling via yacht or motor boat offer special travel experiences.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: For us, the ability to go for a swim in the warm Caribbean Sea at Princess Margaret, one of the World's most beautiful beaches, without the need for transport or long walks was so very, very special.
And we love the views - bring binoculars if you like watching people on boats!
