- When seeking a destination, one would be extremely hard-pressed to find a town offering a better mix of , rich historical culture, and southern charm and hospitality than what the beautiful city of Fairhope offers. What makes Fairhope so unique is its juxtaposition between the rich culture centers of New Orleans and Mobile, and the sugar sand beaches of Gulf Shores and Pensacola. Most would say, however, that it isn't the beach scene that makes Fairhope's attraction so compelling. It stems more from its rich culture that really cannot be found anywhere else. Though many have compared Fairhope to New Orleans, Fairhope, extraordinarily has developed its own very own distinct culture -- an amazing social circumstance from a town that has just in the last two decades reached a population greater than 10,000 permanent residents. This small cottage is a perfect property to exemplify Fairhope charm....moreless

Superb location and functionality
If you love Fairhope, you can't help but love this cottage. The walk ability to downtown restaurants and shops, and to the bay front park and pier put this place way above just 'convenient'. Also notable was the amount of storage space in the kitchen. There's actually room to store foodstuffs if you are doing your own coking; highly unusual for a rental. Plenty of privacy for two groups of adults. Patty is very accommodating and easy to work with. She has thought of everything, really. All you need to do is show up and enjoy yourself!

We were in Fairhope for the Wadewitz Regatta. This house was very convenient to the yacht club and downtown Fairhope. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. I would stay here again and would recommend it to my friends.

Girls' Birthday Weekend
Girls' Birthday Weekend
The 1918 cottage is cute and well located within a couple of blocks of the shopping area of downtown Fairhope. Everything we needed was provided. We loved the two outdoor porches for sitting with our glass of wine - even in the rain. The only problem was that the sunroom bedroom needs curtains because of the bright security light right outside the windows. Everything else was great! The owner is especially easy to contact and work with. We loved having dinner at the Camellia Café. The food was awesome.

Owner response: Hello, Thanks so much for the good review, so happy you enjoyed your stay. I will put heavier curtains in that back bedroom so the security light isn't so bright in the windows. Please contact us when we can book for you again, and ask for a repeat customer discount. Sincerely, Patty Edhegard, owner

Welcoming and Charming Cottage
Welcoming and Charming Cottage
We have family living in Fairhope and surrounding areas. Your home is a lovely place to relax and catch up on old stories. We felt immediately at home when we walked through the front door. The lovely hardwood floors to the charming antiques, welcomed you in and made you feel, you had stepped back in time to the charming south. Our family loved sitting on the front porch telling old stories and visiting with our relatives from Fairhope. The location is only two blocks from town, but you felt you were in the country surrounded by lovely trees and scrubs. We enjoyed walking to the fishing pier and watching the local residents throw their cast nets from the pier. The experience was restful and a wonderful time for reflection.

I was attending a meeting at the nearby Grand Hotel in Point Clear, but the Grand was full. This was a great alternative. It is located in very easy walking distance to shops/restaurants of downtown Fairhope and also the pier. It is even an easy bike ride (3.5 flat miles) to the Grand.

We stayed four nights at this cottage on Fairhope Avenue, attending a wedding down the street at Emma's Bay House. The house is lovely, so comfortable for our stay, and we could walk to everything--downtown Fairhope with lots of restaurants and shops and to the wedding and city beach. (We walked to the Windmill Market two mornings for a great breakfast!) A cute little town and beautiful accommodations for our visit.

This was a wonderful cottage. We had a girls getaway weekend and the location was perfect for a short walk to town or the bay. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. The cottage was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. I highly recommend this cottage. The town of Fairhope is so quaint, the shops wonderful and we had a great meal and a fun time at Vardaman's Restaurant on the bay. The owners were awesome as well! You won't regret staying at this cottage.

We were the first people to stay at this property (hence this being the only review). We were very pleased with the location; 3 minute walk to downtown, 5 minute walk to the pier/beach park. The home itself is very cozy with a comfortable antique feeling that creates a very relaxing setting. Will definitely stay again!

About the owner: We are a local family from right here in Fairhope and have made hospitality our lifelong endeavor. This is the first property of this format we've owned but have 30 years of experience with accommodating vacationers whether on the Bayous of Louisiana, the slopes of Colorado, or the suburban scene. We do our utmost to support ourselves by making others feel welcome. If there's ever something we can do to make your stay more enjoyable or comfortable we'll happily do so. We look forward to your staying at the property we've poured our souls and tireless efforts into making cozy and clean for you.
Why the Owner Chose Fairhope:
This property interested us in the Summer of 2012 because we'd recently left the world of small business and had always been curious about the world of vacation rental. Vacation rentals of this nature attract different demographic than we've ever before serviced at the various motels we've run in years past. Simply, we needed something that's less of a full-time job than we'd had managing multi-unit facilities. It is now a privilege to own a property of which we are so proud because, we believe, it's the best thing available for rent in the whole darn town.
