Our family instantly fell in love with Bald Head Island and we believe yours will too! You will arrive via short and fun ferry ride departing from the quaint town of Southport, North Carolina, to the unique island setting where the only wheels allowed are golf carts, bikes, and scooters. Here you will say 'good-bye' to the stress of everyday life and 'hello' to much more than a beach vacation.Nature abounds around our comfortable, fully-furnished, 4-bedroom, 4 1/2-bath enchanted cottage home. Nestled in the sub-tropical maritime forest, amid the ancient live oaks and sabal palm trees, this charming family home is surrounded by a deck with views of the lake and golf course. Our delightful cottage also features a garage, with 3 golf carts for your use. Tooling around on the island in the cart (remember - the speed limit is 18 mph!) is half the fun of getting to your island destination! The decor and numerous amenities add to its charm, comfort, and ambiance. The modern and up to date kitchen provides every convenience you will need. It's the perfect setting for your family vacation! Enjoy the hustle and bustle of all the island has to offer during the day -- swimming, golf, tennis, kayaking, biking and hiking -- it's always nice to return to your home in the quiet, secluded forest for a relaxing evening.
Centrally located on Edward Teach Wynd, our home is just minutes away from the harbor area, 'Old Baldy', the chapel, creek access, golf course, both clubs and conveniently located near the Maritime Market, hardware store, recently opened spa and gift shops. It's less than a 3-minute golf cart ride to the beach! If you're into golf, tennis, or croquet, or just prefer lounging by the pool with a good book, temporary memberships at both the Bald Head Island Club and the Shoals Club are available to purchase for your use and enjoyment. You decide where you want to go, when you want to go and for how long. Our memberships at both clubs provide you with the flexibility your family seeks in planning your ultimate vacation.
