  This is a very nice cabin, very nicely decorated and meticulously cleaned. We were really surprised to find out that this cabin actually has 3 bedrooms, not 2 like they say in the ad. I guess they didn't really count the loft as a bedroom but there's a bed and a bathroom up there. The kids had fun in the heart shaped tub! The owners were very pleasant to rent from too. Not many owners take credit cards, for most places we have rented, you have to send a check, but Kevin and Diane take credit cards which sure was nice! Most of the time when we go to Gatlinburg, we find tons of stuff to do, but this time we just relaxed and stayed in the cabin and played games, watched TV and relaxed in the hot tub. We will be back for sure! Thanks Kevin and Diane!

  We just returned from our trip to” Smokey’s Retreat” in Gatlinburg and we had a wonderful time! The cabin was so cozy, clean and comfortable! We have stayed in many cabins in the area and with this one, we especially loved it that it is a real log cabin. The weather was gorgeous with the leaves just beginning to turn so we got to see some nice colors. Thank you to the Lawtons for their hospitality and letting us rent their cabin. They were so accommodating and easy to work with. We will definitely be back!

  I rented your cabin on Sept 28,2012 til Sept. 30, 2012. We were very disappointed in the shape of the cabin. There are cobwebs in the showers and all the windows. The bathroom floor tile is broke and the floor is weak and feels like it will fall through. The toliet runs all the time you have to take the back off to make it stop running. In Kitchen the microwave does not work well.All the decoration above the cabinets are covered in dust. There is lots of broken furniture. The TV remotes some of them do not work. There are no batteries in the smoke detectors. We do not feel as if we got our moneys worth and feel we were misslead by the pictures.

  Owner response: Well, I guess you can't please everyone. I wished the renter would have let us know of the issues during their visit where we would have had a chance to rectify the issues. Unfortunately, we didn't hear of them until after the fact. We would have been glad to replace batteries and any broken furniture had we known of it. Some cob webs can be expected in a cabin in the woods of the Smokey Mountains. Never the less, we have apologized to the renter for the issues and offered some restitution. We have changed cleaning companies to one where we will be notified whenever there are wear and tear issues. We welcome the renter back to give us another another chance!

  Our group did not spend much time in the cabin we came down to go to Deal's Gap on our motor cycles & we had a good time. The cabin was very clean. If you don't mind being 4.5 miles up the mountain it was great. Most of us did enjoy the hot tub after riding all day.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

  Excellent Cabin, exactly what we were looking forward to. So quiet and peaceful!!! Will reserve cabin again!!! The Lawton's are wonderful people to work with!!! Stay here you will not be disappointed!!!!

  Our weekend stay at "Southern Exposure" was so relaxing. It was so private and secluded, away from the real world yet close enough to all the action of the Smokies. We loved soaking in the hot tub and waking up and enjoying coffee on the big front porch. Dede and Keven were very easy to work with. Thanks for a great weekend!!

  We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. This very cozy and comfortable cabin is located up the mountain right between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The rocking chair front porch is great. Our son LOVED taking a bath every day in the heart shaped jacuzzi. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was great. Only minutes to the Aquarium and all downtown Gatlinburg attractions. We also loved being able to take our little dog with us. She would go straight to her crate when she saw we were getting ready to leave. Not stressed at all. They provide games and children's movies so my son loved watching The Lion King. The people that take care of the cabin were very nice and helpful. One thing I need to mention is that like most fold out sofa beds, it would not be comfortable for adults. It has a very large hump but it's fine for small kids. My son loved sleeping on it. : ) ~ Thanks for the great memories!!! We would love to stay here again.

  This was the best cabin that we have stayed at. The cabin was in a great location it was clean and we all loved the jucuuzi and the fuse ball table that was there also you have a grill that you can cook on that is provided. You can sit back and relax and don't have to worry about anyone bothering you. And if you want to get out and go site seeing it is only minutes away from Pigeion Forge or Gatlinburg. This is absolutley a place that I would recomend to others to stay at. Property 117636 is the best and the owners are nice and help you out if there is anything that you need, also the person that cleans this cabin I give her a lot of credit on how good of a job that she is doing.

  The cabin was very 'homey'. Everything we needed was right there, including hot tub, horse shoe pits, foosball, dart board, grill, etc.. Charming cabin, very welcoming. We felt right at home. We would definitely stay again. There are two bedrooms downstairs, but if you are able to climb the spiral staircase, there is another bed in the cosiest loft and also the heart shaped tub in it's own private nook. Very nice......Great place to relax.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
