- The 'Holly House' is in a great location, not far from Lake Arrowhead village and a short drive to nearby ski resorts for winter play. Lots of hiking trails nearby or if shopping is your thing, there is lots of that, too! With Blue Jay a stone throw away, there are plenty of restaurants to chose from. I personally, like making my meals and enjoying the surrounding of the cabin off the back deck. It is plenty spacious to entertain a number of people...moreless

Holly House was exactly what I was looking for in a cabin. Rustic charm with all the amenities. Really clean, easy to access- right off the main road. Bedrooms are larger than I expected. Really comfortable. We did not have any road noise problems (we were there for Thanksgiving- busy weekend) Owner easy to contact and really accommodating. This house is adorable. Will definitely stay again.

Love this cabin! Every thoughtful detail was carefully added to ensure your visit is cozy and comfortable. It's everything you could ask for while being secluded in the woods. Quiet area yet still close to everything. Not to mention it's as cute as can be inside. Perfect for 3 guests and my small pup. We were there for the first snow so we weren't able to enjoy any time on the deck but hope to return during summer. Can't recommend this cabin enough.

Owner response: Thank you Alyssa for your kind review. Sorry the weather didn't cooperate for you, there is no telling this time of year what you're going to get in the mountains. A safe bet for good weather would be June to September (definitely my favorite time). Hope you can come back then and be able to enjoy the mountain air on the back deck. Hope to see you soon!

Such a great experience from booking the cabin to getting our deposit back so quick. The owner was awesome to work with and we would definitely visit again and recommend this cabin. It was beautiful, comfortable and very cozy. It had everything we needed. Just wish we had been able to stay longer. It was so peaceful and quiet. The cabin was beautifully decorated, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom is huge. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Can't wait to visit again.

We stayed here for the weekend and loved it! The house is absolutely beautiful and its location is perfect. The house was completely stocked and has updated kitchen appliances, washer/ dryer, and a beautiful copper tub. A lock box was provided with keys so there was no need to coordinate to have the house opened. The house sits on a road with neighbors nearby but it was so peaceful and quiet. We recommend driving into town and eating at Texifornia tamale co which was pretty good. Overall it was such a relaxing weekend and we really look forward to staying here again!

Owner response: Thank you Marina for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope that the weather held out for you. I plan on trying the tamale company you suggested, I didn't know it existed. Hope you can come back soon and enjoy all the seasons at the "Holly House".
The Holly House is absolutely everything you think of when you hear the word "cabin": warm, cozy, and deliciously detailed. From the cherry kitchen cabinets to the enormous brass freestanding tub, there is no place like this home. My husband and I are here with our two kids and are enjoying the gorgeous scenery that fall has to offer up here. A walk with no particular destination and a piping hot cup of cider is the only priority we have! If that sounds like your cuppa, look no further than this beautiful rental. Thanks Pam!

Owner response: Thank you Jessie for your wonderful review! You are right, the Fall season is so nice up there. The trees put on a incredible display of colors; brilliant reds, orange and golds. It makes for some great walks or scenic drives. Glad you and your family enjoyed themselves and we look forward to your return. Pam
Nice cabin but traffic noise is too loud
Nice cabin but traffic noise is too loud
The cabin is very nice, clean, and well equipped (although the windows clearly need to be updated). I was looking for some quiet time. However I did not find it at the cabin. Since it is located about 20 yards from highway 173 (which is the main road to Lake Arrowhead), traffic noise is constant. It was impossible for me to enjoy the deck during the day. Luckily I had brought my white noise generator with me so I was able to sleep at night.

Owner response: Dear Marlena, I'm sorry your stay at my cabin did not meet your expectations; however, in response to some of the things that were stated in your review, I feel I need to clarify. The cabin was built in the 1940's, so when it was remodeled the contractor thought (and I concur),it would keep its original charm of the cabin to have the windows that you suggest we replace. The windows upstairs were replaced with double paned windows so I am a bit surprised you needed your white noise generator to sleep. As for as the noise factor, it is true that we are not far from the highway, although I think your estmation of 20 yards from the highway is completely inaccurate. That being said, with all the travelers that have stayed at my cabin, you are the first to mention that it was a problem. As a matter of fact, there is a review that you could read from a previous traveler, that said there was road construction being done and that they couldn't even hear it. In closing I'm sorry that your stay was not a positive one that all my other visitors have had. We really love when people enjoy themselves at the "Holly House". Sincerely, Pam
This cabin was so wonderful! It was tucked away on a nice, quiet street with lovely trees surrounding the property. The cabin itself was warm and inviting. The two bedrooms were nice and big and it had every immenity that you'd need. Beautiful back porch that was great for relaxing. I highly recommend this cabin. :-)

Sweet little cabin
Sweet little cabin
I wasn't sure what to expect since this is the first cabin I have ever rented. The cabin was warm and inviting, clean and well stocked. The location was just off the highway, but you couldn't hear a peep and there was street work being done. It definitely felt like a home away from home. The house wasn't hotel neutral, but cabin warm. The location is less than five minutes to Lake Arrowhead Village and ten minutes to beautiful Lake Gregory. The best thing I can say is that we are already looking forward to our next visit to Holly House.

All the Comforts of Home!
All the Comforts of Home!
Our family loved our stay at the Holly House! Pam has such an eye for detail- creating a home that feels like "home" with delightful cabin charm. It had easy access to trails, the lake, and the highway. After a long day outdoors, it was such a blessing to come back to the comforts of the cabin. Our children especially liked the hammock, and spent many hours reading in it. They also kept busy with the puzzles and coloring items that Pam so thoughtfully provided. I would highly recommend this property for families with children.Thank you for a wonderful mountain experience- my kids are already asking when they can come back!

Owner response: Thank you Rachel for your nice review of the cabin. I too, like to hang in the hammock to laze around, read a book or just watch the clouds roll by. Hope you and your family can make this a regular tradition. Hope to see you soon.
Our little escape
Our little escape
My wife and I have taken to staying in this area for our anniversary. This year, my wife found this charming cabin and it fit the bill perfectly. Pretty much the entire place is very well thought out and almost no space is wasted but my favorite things are in the details. The little flashlight/nightlight on the floor near the stairs above and below, the bathtub that sits on the rocks along with the custom hand-made curtain rack, the beautiful floors and counters..... Also, since my wife was about 6 months pregnant she was very much interested in napping and relaxing so the TV and film collection was a very nice touch. Never in my life did I ever imagine sitting inside a cabin on a beautiful summer day but when the wife is preggo, it's a game changer. This turned out to be just what we needed for our weekend to celebrate our 4 years together and to talk about what the next 40 or so might be like.... Pass another glass of wine and thanks for everything!!!

Owner response: Thank you for your lovely review of the "Holly House". I'm so glad that the cabin added to the enjoyment of your anniversary. Congratulations all around on 4 years of marriage and expecting your new little blessing. As you have more children, you may need more retreats at the cabin. Hope you will keep us in mind when that time comes. Good luck to you two and all the best! Pam

Why the Owner Chose Lake Arrowhead:
This cabin is nestled amongst pine, fir and maple trees. When I first saw this property I instantly fell in love with it. I loved the location, close to everything: the village, shopping, skiing, restaurants and within an hour drive to Big Bear for a scenic drive. Even though it was remodeled the contractor kept the original 1940's charm. You feel like you are really in a cabin in the woods. It's so quiet that you can also hear the faint church bells in the distance...there's nothing like it!
