This superb, oceanfront condominium is situated on the beautiful beach of Praia da Luz in the Algarve. The large veranda with garden overlooks the beach and has uninterrupted views of the ocean and Rocha Negra (the black rock).
Praia da Luz is a delightful village with wonderful restaurants, all within walking distance, and a clean protected beach. Water sports are available at the beach in Luz and a wide variety of other sports are available nearby.
The closest town is Lagos (approximately 7 km), a wonderful old walled city with many restaurants and bars and shops. Boat hire and deep-sea fishing are available at the large modern marina. Several excellent golf courses are within a 10 to 40 minute drive from Luz.

Upon entering the condo in Praia da Luz, we immediately opened the door to the patio outside, and knew we had chosen well. The condo itself is very clean, and very well appointed, it certainly met all of our needs and wants for the week. I don't think the pictures of the listing do it justice, it was a very nice surprise to get to the property and see that it exceeded our expectations. The outdoor patio however, was absolutely gorgeous, and we found that we spent all of our time at the condo on the patio. We had breakfast there every morning, and although we wanted to go explore the area, it was hard to tear ourselves away from the view. The beach is beautiful, the town is charming, and the restaurants in the area are varied and plentiful. We were able to travel to many areas that we were interested in, and most places we visited were an hour's drive or less from the condo. We certainly hope to return to this property in the future. A week was not long enough. This property has something for everybody.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

8/2/2009We have had a really great holiday – thank you for setting the tone of it. The flowers, provisions, etc. were most welcome and kind. You have provided great facilities for your guests which makes it very personal. Once again, thank you and we hope to return next year.

3/8/09 – 17/8/09Dear Pat & Al,Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely apartment. We loved the balcony view and ended up eating there as often as eating out. We had 14 days of hot and sunny weather – just what we needed as the summer in the UK has been awful. We enjoyed the water sports from the beach. They may be a bit intense for young children but fine if you have experienced the coasters at Cedar Point, Ohio.We found the sea temperature ok, probably because we live in England. Trips we did which we recommend, Cabo de São Vicente, Sagres Fort, Dolphin Trips from Lagos. We saw many bottle nose dolphins, Lagos old town, trip the mountains (Point Foia) and Caldas de Monchique, Burgau, if you have young kids try Zoomarine, if you have been to Seaworld in Florida, you may be disappointed, the grotto trips from Carvoeiro were very good, visit Cliff Richards Vineyard Adega do Cantor at Guia.Once again, Pat and Al, many thanks, our Luz holiday was very different to the stay in Port Clinton. We loved them both.Regards.

The view truly is spectacular! Since my first stay at this beautiful condo in 2005 I have been back four times and have rented it again for February 2010. The condo decor is inviting and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with every amenity that you might need. I have been most impressed with the owner's attention to detail and the care taken to provide a positive experience for those renting the condo. While staying here I have always felt welcomed as a special guest in to someone's home. I look forward to returning many times
