Property description

Château des Granges is situated in 7 acres of stunning parkland with an array of exotic trees and bird life, in the picturesque Town of Souillac which rest on the banks of the Dordogne River in the South of France.

This boutique style château offers a very high standard of accommodation with relaxing indoor and outdoor living spaces where you can sip a casual glass of our own red or white wine.


On the ground floor there are 2 kitchens, one adjacent to the dining room and one large industrial kitchen for larger groups, weddings and conferences. Both kitchens come fully equipped. There are three living rooms including the library room with open fire, the main lounge with plenty of comfortable seating and finally a cinema/tv room. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and shares a partitioned open plan space with the TV room and has direct access to Truffles Retreat. There are also two WC´s. Upstairs the château comprises of 10 doubles and 4 twin bedrooms all with en-suite bath/shower room.

Truffles Retreat is a naturally shaded outdoor living area adjacent to the house. The private swimming pool comes with safety fence. Surrounding the pool is an enclosed sunbathing area complete with 2 outdoor living areas and a 6 seater dining table shaded by canopies. Adjacent to the pool is another lounge area and dining area with full outdoor cooking facilities and a poolside kitchen. The grounds are fully enclosed to offer exceptional privacy. Also within the grounds is a crazy golf course, the table tennis area and extensive gardens.

This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection. Energy costs: Included in the rental price. End of stay cleaning: Please enquire.
Terms: - Linen & Towels: Bed linen, towels and pool towels are included in the rental price. For bookings of 2 or more weeks bed linen will be changed halfway through the stay. - End of stay cleaning: The property must be tidied as it was found. The end of stay clean is included in the rental however unreasonable mess will be charged to the security deposit. - Energy Costs: The first 100 euro of energy is included in the rental. - Arrival time: 4.15pm. - Departure time: 10am. - Pets: Pets are under no circumstances allowed inside the property. Pets are negotiable if kept on the extensive grounds and are allowed only after written agreement from management. - Smoking: No Smoking indoors. - In order to cover any risk of cancellation or interruption of your stay we recommend that you take out travel insurance.

Location

The Ch??teau des Granges is located on the Route de Sarlat in Souillac. Walking time to Souillac town centre is 10-15 mins(2 min drive). The main Supermarket is 2-3 mins walk where you will also find an open air fruit and veg and cheese market.

It is just a 3 min walk to the banks of the Dordogne River. Local activities include canoeing, horse-riding, tennis courts, the rugby stadium and Quercyland (water park), fishing, kayaking etc. It is also 10 mins drive to Souillac Country Club for a round of golf.

Souillac is a self-sufficient town with a great array of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. It has a great market every Friday with local farmers and artisans selling their produce.

Sarlat is approx 15-20 mins drive and is steeped in history with its narrow streets and superb market - a must visit for all. For a city fix, Brive is 15 mins drive or 20 mins by train. For wine lovers, Cahors is a short drive away where we can arrange vineyard visits on request.
