You will be soothed by the gentle breeze of the Tradewinds wafting through the apartment to bring a refreshing feel to this tropical climate.

LOCATION INFORMATION
Located on the small island in the lagoon in the beautiful marina resort of Port St Charles, boasting one of the best beaches and reefs in Barbados. Peaceful setting.
Port St Charles is 500m north of the small historic town of Speightstown. Here Caribbean life is as it has been for hundreds of years, with the fishermen bringing in the day's catch to be sold at the town's fish market, the colourfully dressed ladies by the side of the main street selling fresh fruit and vegetables, the general hustle and bustle of a genuine Caribbean 'town'. There are also small supermarkets, a variety of shops, art galleries, rum bars, and restaurants. The more modern Holetown is 15 mins and Bridgetown the capital 30 mins away. Travel by bus (a hair raising ride in a yellow bus for $2) or more sedately by car or taxi.
The wild rugged East Atlantic coast is about 20 minutes away. Between PSC and there enjoy visiting Plantation Houses, working Sugar Cane fields, villages, the hills of Scotland, amazing vistas and more.

Why we chose Port St Charles: Owned by Mark and Nicola Aldridge. We fell in love with Port St Charles the first time we drove past the gated entry in 2002. We were exploring the Northern part of the island, and just had to stop and view this delightful place. Construction was still going on, but the place was so beautifully managed it didn’t matter.
We viewed several apartments, but the added bonus of a plunge pool on the terrace and being close to the water left us with no option but to choose 'Windward'. We have had no regrets since. The ambience in the apartment and in Port St Charles is so relaxing and refreshing. It is a delight to walk around Port St Charles taking in the beautiful tropical gardens and the heavy scent of flowers. We are also so fortunate to have one of the best swimming/ snorkelling/ sunbathing beaches on the island, and despite all beaches in Barbados being public the beach at Port St Charles is never busy. There is no need for me to say all this - just read the reviews, and you will wish to stay here too.

We spent a wonderful week at "Windward" in Port St. Charles. The apartment was exactly as described, clean, well stocked and spacious. The "getting started" food basket of coffee, tea, jams, cheese and rum punch was a very nice touch and much appreciated. The pictures on the website do not come close to doing the beautiful marina setting of Port St. Charles justice! The property and surrounding area was clean and well maintained. Nicola (the owner) was quick to respond to all our questions. We did not rent a car, but did not need one. Groceries and restaurants are a short taxi ride away. Better yet, try the local buses for a less expensive option - and truly an adventure! The local folks are very friendly and always willing to help tourists with their questions. The apartment did not have a barbeque, however the electric grill was an acceptable substitute. The beach was great. A quick call to the front desk and we had beach chairs and umbrellas ready and waiting when we arrived. Very good snorkeling right off the beach. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday away from the hustle of the touristy areas, yet close enough to shopping, site seeing and good restaurants, Port St. Charles is the perfect choice. Definitely on our do-again list, thank you Nicola!Owner response: So pleased that everyone just loves my apartment and its location - and that it exceeds expectations.

Spent just over 2 weeks with my husband and parents in this lovely, very comfortable apartment and we all had a fabulous time, could have stayed a lot longer, plus the beds were very comfortable! The apartment is perfectly located overlooking the boats and the marina, and very quiet. It is also right next to one of the best beaches in Barbados - which is where we spent a lot of our time swimming and relaxing. Speightstown is a pleasant 10 minute walk away along the beach, and we also loved Gibbes beach which is not far away. We had some very nice meals at the Yacht club, and then in the second week when we rented a car had some enjoyable meals at the Fishpot, the Beach House, and the Roundhouse. Port St Charles is a great place to stay, ideally situated for some beautiful, quiet beaches. Wish I was there now...Owner response: So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Nicola

Hi Nicola, Just a note to say what a lovely relaxing time we're having at your beautiful apartment. The location is fabulous and the apartment very comfortable. The only problem will be when we have to leave... :) We had a really fantastic holiday in Barbados thanks, and came back to reality with a bump when we were greeted with snow at Gatwick last Tuesday morning! Your apartment is fabulous, very comfortable, and we really liked Glenda, she was lovely. Port St Charles is great, we think it's the best area to stay in Barbados - quiet and plenty of great beaches around. Anyway we had a really super time, and would love to go back! Thanks too for the welcome pack which we really appreciated. Thanks again for renting it to us.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Cheryl Beeden Dec 15th 2012 The apartment is well stocked with towels, kitchen supplies (cutlery, plates, glasses, pots and pans etc). My daughter read in the guest book that internet was slow, however I can assure you that the internet service was fantastic. The apartment was spacious for the four of us. The patio is wonderful. The dining table and lounge chairs were great. I loved the plunge pool, perfect for a quick dip to cool down.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have been spending our winter vacations at Port St. Charles for the past decade; a luxurious & well maintained property. We have stayed in this particular unit for the past several years. The apartment has beautiful living spaces, an outdoor dining area, plunge pool, full kitchen, washer & dryer. The unit is also close to two swimming pools, a pool bar, restaurant, tennis courts & two gorgeous beaches. The apartment is clean, bright, quiet, & well maintained. We look forward to our next stay in 2014.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

November 15, 2012 to December 1, 2012 This was our third stay at Port St Charles with this owner. Nothing was lacking. Everything that we needed and more was available from this apartment. The owner was accessible, helpful and forthcoming with recommendations of things that we could see or do while we were in Barbados. The unit is beautifully situated and clean. The beach was amazing and we enjoyed many meals at the Yacht Club. We look forward to our next visit and would have no hesitancy in recommending this owner and/or apartment to friends. Definitely a five star experience. Nina and Len Huntsville, Ontario, CanadaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I stayed at Windward with my family and it was very comfortable, clean and very peaceful. It was a home way from home with everything that we needed. We used the outside dining area every day for breakfast, enjoying the view of the lagoon and watching the occasional yacht pass by. I am particularly fussy about bathrooms and these two did not let me down. They were spacious and clean with great showers. We all had a go on the kayaks that were provided, some of us were more successful than others but it was great fun. My husband even used the kayak to visit the Yacht Club to pick up some bottles of beer. I can assure you that he didn't use the kayak to return the empties! The Yacht Club is part of PSC and they have great food there. The staff are incredibly friendly. They gave my daughter some bread to feed the turtles and we enjoyed watching the Olympics in the bar. Bajans are some the friendliest people in the world! The welcome pack on arrival was greatly appreciated. It was nice to have some essentials for breakfast, snacks and even a drop of rum punch to welcome us. All the information and communication with Nicola leading up to and during our stay was great as was all the information provided in the apartment from restaurants, shops, and places to visit. Port St. Charles is at the north of the island so it is out of the way of all the busy tourist spots and night life which was perfect for us. The island is small so it doesn't take long to get get anywhere by car. Speightstown is about a 10 minute walk away. Holetown is the second nearest town, more cosmopolitan and about a 10 minute drive away with a variety of nice restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend the Lime Grove Centre in Holetown, especially the cinema. The Beach House Restaurant has amazing food. We enjoyed The Fish Pot restaurant in St Lucy as well as it's sister restaurant The Atlantis on the East coast. The beach is where we spent most of our time and at it's busiest I counted just 30 people. It's a real treat to take a water taxi to the beach and have your sun loungers and umbrellas waiting for you on your arrival. We had an absolutely fantastic time in Windward, Port St Charles, a water taxi ride away from the beach and in such beautiful and serene surroundings made it all so much more enjoyable and relaxing. I certainly would love to return to Barbados and this apartment again soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
