Private family home on beautiful south end of Long Lake. Long Lake is a 5 mile long all sports lake with five islands. Very gradual drop-off has sandy bottom. Take the fishing boat out and catch perch, walleye, bass and grill outside! Enjoy dinner on the deck or lower patio. Take the peddle boat out for a sunset cruise or watch from the outdoor jacuzzi or hammock. Blue heron, loons, eagles and other wildlife often visit. Wooded trails across the street and recreation center nearby.

National Cherry Festival and the Film Festival take place in Traverse City just 10 minutes away. Wonderful dining, shopping, and galleries, right in town. Four miles to Interlochen for groceries, dining, shops, a small water park and Interlochen Center for the Arts, which provides world class entertainment. 1.5 miles to Boone's Long Lake restaurant and just 4 miles to Moomer's famous ice cream shop.
Take a 30 minute drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and climb the dunes, follow the winery trails and art gallery trails, and visit small towns in Leelanau and Benzie counties. Hiking, swimming, skiing, biking, golfing, charter fishing, kayaking, and canoeing are some popular outdoor activities in the area with its many lakes, beaches, and trails. You can even find a secluded spot on one of many Lake Michigan beaches!

About the owner: We are three sisters that now own the house jointly after inheriting it. This was our family home with lots of great memories. One sister, Karin, is a local resident who resides in the house part of the year. Karin is easily reachable for your concerns.

We don't hire property managers and live elsewhere. We are owners who have lived here many years and know details about the house. Over the years there have been many guests here and we love sharing the experience of Long Lake and this area with others. With this in mind, the decision to offer it as a vacation rental is the perfect solution to afford keeping it in our family for generations and share it with new friends. We want to provide a vacation to our guests as though they are guests of our own. (We can tell you where and when to find a secluded spot on a stretch of Lake Michigan beach) This is our first season (starting a bit late) and we welcome any comments you have!
