Beautiful 3BR/2BA Lodge Home in Redding, Lake Shasta - 5 Acres
- Minimum stay:2-4 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
Located in the Bear Mountain area of Redding, this lodge-style, home is ideally located for your Lake Shasta area vacation. This is a wonderful location for a family vacation, a peaceful getaway, a fishing retreat or a trip to enjoy the natural beauty of the Shasta-Cascade area.
The main room has floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Bear Mountain and the many oak trees on the five acre property. There is also a nice woodstove with plenty of firewood provided.
The property is 5 acres, mostly level, with rolling hills, perfect for children who like to explore. The house is located only a few miles from Jones Valley Resort on Lake Shasta, where you can launch your own boat or rent one of theirs.
We purchased this property recently so the furnishings and amenities are all new and contemporary. We have furnished one upstairs loft bedroom with a queen bed, one bedroom downstairs with a queen bed and one bedroom with twin bunk beds and a full-size futon. Our goal is a nicely furnished and maintained house, where we feel comfortable enjoying it with our family and proud sharing it with you. Since we have children, we have taken extra steps along the way to ensure that it has conveniences that any family will appreciate.
Outside, there is a redwood deck, a landscaped seating area and a gas barbecue. If you are considering vacationing with a pet, we would be happy to discuss reasonable arrangements.
The house was originally built in 1988 and has had only one owner who has taken very good care of it. We plan on continuing this tradition.
We welcome any inquiries, suggestions or comments.

Shasta House was a excellent choice for our stay in the Redding, Calif. area. We attended my nieces wedding and did some sight seeing. Shasta Dam, Sundial Bridge and had a great brunch at 202 Restaurant on Mother's Day. I would highly recommend the house to anyone interested. It was clean, roomy and a great location!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit in our home. Nick

Home is nice but had some broken fixtures and the couches had numerous stains but it is a rental. Kitchen was fairly well stocked. Home is nice as is the property. The master bedroom up in the loft is a bid odd as there is no way to keep it dark so you can't sleep in and the noise carries from the living room and kitchen below. AC works great and was definitely needed. 30 minutes to Packers to launch boat was not bad. Overall a B. Price a little high.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for your visit. I appreciate you letting us know about the broken light fixtures and stained couch. That must have happened during the guest's visit prior to your arrival. We have a damage protection policy that paid for replacement and repair of those fixtures. We have the couches cleaned when needed and they are now clean again. The upstairs loft has wonderful views and light, however it is not possible to keep it dark in the mornings. This is the way the house was configured when we purchased it. We have reviewed our pricing and have lowered it to make sure we are providing a good value.

The description of this house was just as it was described in the listing. Very well maintined, and had everything we needed. The house is in a great location to many outdoor activities. The owner was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. The only reason we didn't rate it a 5 is because the hot tub had a leak and needed to be filled every day. We would highly recommend this house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners.
Owner response: Thank you very much for your stay and review. I'm very glad to hear that you found the house to be well located, maintained and furnished. Thank you for letting me know about the leaking hot tub as I was unaware of that. We temporarily took the hot tub out of service while the leak was repaired and I'm pleased to report that it is fully functional again. We have the hot tub on a weekly cleaning/service schedule to ensure that it is ready during your visit. Please let me know during your stay if there is an issue with the hot tub and I can ask the serviceperson to visit the house to address the issue.

This rental was in a nice location in the Redding area, close to Shasta Lake. The kitchen was well stocked with all essentials to prepare meals. The linens offered were bare minimum, but you could wash them if needed. The house was fully functional, but not in the least luxurious. The cleanliness was a bare minimum standard. The air conditioning was a problem. It would go up to 85 degrees every two hours so we were constantly adjusting the thermostat, and the loft would get very hot, especially at night. It is an adequate "home base" but I wouldn't want to hang out there.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you very much for your review. Our house is indeed in a very nice location convenient to both Redding and Shasta Lake. Our kitchen is fully stocked with most things that you need to cook meals. If there is something missing, please let me know so we can stock it for upcoming guests. Our sheets are 400+ thread count and our towels are high quality. We regularly replace them to ensure that they are in good condition. We have had the same housecleaner for 7 years and if there is something not cleaned to your satisfaction when you arrive, please contact me and she will visit the house to address it. The air conditioning system is serviced regularly to be able to perform when needed. I do have the thermostat set to default to 85 so as to reduce the electrical demand when the house is empty. There are instructions in the house binder regarding how to hold the temperature during your visit to be comfortable. Many guests have found our house to be a great home base and a relaxing place to spend time together.

We had a wonderful time here as we were celebrating our 50th with all our kids and grandkids as well as grandaughter's graduation from High School and a birthday boy. Would recommend this as a very quiet, nice place to stay. We watched many deer and saw lots of criters.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to our house. It is a very peaceful place to spend time together. We have also seen many deer, wild turkeys, woodpeckers, foxes, and wild rabbits.

My four sisters and I rented this house in the Lake Shasta for a week in the summer. It provided a great base for us to get together and explore the area. It had everything we needed and more. The many amenities made for a very enjoyable week for a very reasonable cost. The house was clean, comfortable and very spacious. It was really ideal. We highly recommend it and want to thank the owners for being so gracious and accommodating. You do need a car though. The area is quiet & very pretty but it's a bit out of town.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have rented homes in the past and this home is far superior in comfort level. Working with the owners was easy and we loved the privacy the house afforded us. The house is close enough to Jones resort to dock a boat a jones. I highly recommend this home. Eugenie BroussardDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
