Why the Owner Chose Playa Conchal
We chose the condo at Reserva Conchal because it comes with great resort amenities as well as outside the property enjoyment. Here you can't beat the amount of activities that are available to you with all kinds of watersport as well as great fishing. There is also a well manicured 18 hole golf course in front of you and tennis courts if you play. The resort pool is hugh with all kinds of activities planned. The staff also provides nightly entertainment shows. For quieter times, there is a private Beach Club that has 2 swimming pools, an outdoor hot pool, a refrigerated cool pool, inside locker rooms with a wet or dry sauna, work out center and restaurant/bar facilities.
Away from the resort, we enjoy the little towns around us that offer great eating, shopping, nice beaches and great scenery.
I will also say that we bought the condo after we realised how great the area and the people in it were. This gave us a very comfortable feeling about buying and being in this part of Costa Rica.

I am sitting at the kitchen island with my 2nd cup of Costa Rican coffee. The sun is filtering through the lush greenery and I will soon have some fresh fruit and toast. There is no rush only relaxation. I will pack my beach bag soon and shuttle down to the beach club. I like to visit with a sun salutation thus paying my respect and a nice stretch. The sandy beaches and water are really tropical and I am amazed how quickly I went from the 57th paralall to the 7th. The other 3 women wlll be arriving today, 1 at noon and 2 after dinner. We all arrive safely thanks to our local 'Tica'. He is a wealth of informtion and can arrange just about anything I want to do, see, or eat. Meanwhile I am safe and secure looking forward to the day. No rush no worries its all here. Enjoy Pura Vida

While the condo was large it was not very clean. The dishwasher flooded all over the kitchen and the man who was our greeter and supposed to take care of issues did not help us. He also never brought over the crib he promised for our baby. The only bathroom with a tub for the kids did not have a working plug so it could not hold water. The shuttle service that takes you to the beach has very friendly drivers however it is difficult to get in touch with the office to call them. They rarely answer the phone. You could choose to walk 4 kilometers but in 95 degree weather with three small children this was not an option for us. The pool at the resort has a bar and therefor the pool is covered with left over drink cups which are rarely collected. They stack all along the walls of the pool. Once a day they are collected. If you are into a clean feel this may not be for you. The air conditioner works well. The beds are comfortable. There is nothing that indicated that you are in another country because this is a sprawling condo resort that seems to go on forever. There is a very very small town 1/2 mile away. with a small grocery store and a restaurant and two tacky tourist shops selling the same things. A cab to the nearest town, Tamarindo, twenty minutes away will cost you 60 dollars. Some good restaurants there and small tourists shops. They resort have you wear a bracelet to have access to the pools etc, which is not removable unless you cut it. It thus allows everyone to identify you as a tourist from the condo community and it seems like an invitation to try and charge you more and take advantage of you.
Owner response:The above guest booked the busiest time of the year in Costa Rica. Easter week has the resort and condos filled solid with families and guests. Patience and a willing to understand you are part of a hugh holiday, with-in a packed resort environment is important. It was very unfortunate that the dishwasher leaked. I will add that this has been repaired since and that maintenance has inspected every appliance in the condo to ensure they operate properly. I understand this event would be upsetting and as condo owners we make every effort possible to ensure our guests have a great, relaxing holiday. We definitely want positive feedback. We have been renting for over 3 years and have never had a problem or a complaint of any sort from our guests. So this was a bit of a surprise and although in life it is not always perfect we wish our guests never have to deal with any distracting matters. So answering this particular review was important. We are very fortunate to have this condo and to have use of all the amenities of this 5 star resort as well with the added attraction of our beach club. This on top of being in an amazing country that is not Florida. As written on the condo opening page, we feel an appreciation for this country and its surroundings. I know you will too, so come and see for yourself, we do have returning guests.

"Pura Vida" -the good life. We've lived it for the last 10 days. We've discovered the sheer beauty of this country through the beaches (Sugar Beach) the many wonderful places to eat, the condo (beyond comfort) and all the activities and mostly the people....friendly and polite. The Palo Verde river tour was a blast -so much fun. Rainer (guide) was great and the food amazing. We'll be back...10 days is not really enough time to enjoy all that Costa Rica has to offer.

Well, what can I say but "pura vida"! This place has the life! My first time here in Costa Rica and it was a blast! This resort or reserva is beautiful right from the beach, to the beach club, the resort pool and spa and the views! I was lucky enough to experience the suba diving, fishing, volcano and ATVing up to the ziplines amongst other great adventures The beaches here are beautiful and there is so much to do and see. Sunsets are beautiful here. I will definately be back, hopefully sooner than later!!! Great condo, in a great reserva, in a great country!! Todo bien!

Thanks for the great place to stay we enjoyed your condo, the beach club, tennis courts and beach. The food at the club was great. We also enjoyed the restaurants in Brasilito! We took the canopy zipline tour - it was safe & fabulous and rafted the Torro river in Fortuna, it was the best.
