Villa Dancourt has been a favorite Montmartre address since it was built in the 1930s. Josephine Baker and Charles Aznevour both lived here, and it's still the home of Parisian and foreign entertainers, artists, writers, and filmmakers. Long before Amélie Poulain introduced Montmartre to the world, Villa Dancourt established itself as a peaceful oasis in the heart of Paris's most vibrant neighborhood. From Villa Dancourt, on the border of the 9th and 18th arrondissements at the foot of Montmartre, it is an easy walk to the Opera and the Galeries Lafayette, and a quick metro or bus ride to anywhere else in Paris. And some of the best eating in Paris is steps away.
We even offer optional private cooking classes with a master chef - ask us!
Montmartre is the only neighborhood in Paris that’s full of must-see sights — Sacré Coeur, Place de Tertre, the Moulin Rouge — and is also a lively, affordable, real French neighborhood. “For visitors who prefer to search for the crustiest baguette and perfect melon and cook for themselves,” Elaine Sciolino wrote in the New York Times, “there is no better place to rent an apartment and pretend, even for a brief time, to live in Paris.” It has also become a destination for trendy Parisians from all over the city.
Our light-drenched, one-bedroom apartment is filled with Art Deco antiques and oak floors—but it's as comfortable as your own home. The cafes and restaurants of Montmartre are bustling with people till the wee hours, but from the apartment you won't hear any of it—Villa Dancourt is in its own private courtyard, with little "French balconies" and views of the Paris rooftops.
The apartment has been restored to its original elegance, but the kitchen is completely remodeled and fully equipped, including a dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans and cooking staples—perfect for pulling together wine and hors d'oeuvres or for cooking a meal.
The apartment is on the 5th floor (6th U.S.) with an elevator, and is fully equipped with a washer-dryer; a modern remodeled bathroom with an oversize European-style tub, an American-style shower, and endless hot water; radiator heating in winter; and great cross-ventilation and a ceiling fan for hot summer nights. Other amenities include flat-screen cable TV, a DVD/CD/MP3 player, and high-speed internet (wireless or LAN port). Parking is available separately in a private garage downstairs at hourly, weekly, and monthly rates.
The apartment comfortably sleeps four—two in the bedroom and two on the sofabed in the living room. (Don't worry, it's not your parents' apartment, so it's not your parents' sofabed—it's super-comfortable.) Curtains on the French doors between the bedroom and the living room ensure as much privacy as you want. There’s plenty of storage space. And if you are here to get some work done, the most fabulous desk you have ever seen awaits you.
You will be greeted on your arrival by our wonderful Paris liaison, who speaks English and French and is available to help you should any emergencies arise.
Last minute specials for rentals of one week or more booked less than 2 weeks in advance - please check calendar for availability.

Fantastic location. Many family-run French restaurants nearby. Two wonderful bakeries within two blocks, including the "Paris -best baguette - 2011" winner. Carrefour supermarket a 5 minute walk, two greengrocers within a block. Easy access to 2 metro stations on two different lines. Unusually comfortable living room sleeper sofa. Quiet, bright, courtyard view apartment, two blocks to Sacre Coeur's funicular. One "negative" - toilet door right off the entry/living area, though in a separate room, as is common in France. Furnishings adequate. Full kitchen used daily for AM coffee, bakery goodies, evening aperitifs and dessert. etc. Happy to have a washer/dryer. Spent a delightful month here, early March-early April. A fine choice for up to four compatible people.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We just spent several days in Paris with our 13 year old. We loved staying in the apartment. The location is great, it's got a good kitchen where you can cook if you don't want to eat out every night. The wireless internet is really good too. The pull-out in the living room makes a good second bedroom for a child. I highly recommend staying here. We had a great time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

It was her first time in Paris and Angie absolutely loved her stay. The apartment was very well located and fully stocked. We were constantly discovering little hidden treasures around each corner. My favorite was the roving 12 member brass band that jazzed up our stroll one afternoon. Or was it just sitting in one of the many cafes just soaking up the ambiance. All this was just blocks from the appartment! Yes, everyone says it but now I know why. We will be back. Warmest Regards, Brian and AngieDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is an ideal apartment for a couple or small family. Comfortably furinished with all amenities, lived in and not antiseptic, witha comfortable bath and shower. The kitchen is small (no surprise) but well furnished and well stocked with the basic so you don't have to go buy salt and coffee filters (we've had rentals where there was nothing). Having the extra room (rather than a studio) makes a big difference, so you don't end up tripping over your extra luggage. Location is very good, close to multiple metro lines and fairly easy to get anywhere in Paris. There is great neighborhood food shopping both above and below the apartment (Rue Lepic and rue des Martyrs). Most importantly, the apartment is very quiet, despite being close to a busy street and very busy tourist area. Area felt very safe because it is busy at all times. Some people might be put off by Pigalle just to the west, but it is very easily avoided. Definitely recommend and will definitely try and book again.Did you find this review helpful? We had quite a tall order--find a nice apartment big enough for two adults and a five-month-old baby, with a washer/dryer, and convenient to all the sights in a safe, fun, and accessible neighborhood. Well we found all of this and MORE in Villa Dancourt. A gorgeous sunny apartment, where you can watch the sunrise and moonrise with your morning cup of coffee and pain du chocolat. Comfy bed, plenty of storage even for our long five-week stay, and fully equipped kitchen (bamboo steamer, even!). Close to great shops, grocery stores, awesome food shops, fun antiques, clothing, and also fantastic for walking around enjoying the street mojo. The sofa bed is also just as comfortable as the main bed (we tested it out) and there's plenty of room for a dinner party, we entertained family who came up to Paris to see us. And there are four or five metro stops within a five-minute walk, you can hit virtually all the major sites without even transferring metro lines. And for being in such a dense neighborhood, the apartment was absolutely quiet--six floors suddenly feels like a long way. Next time we're in Paris, we are definitely going to look up Villa Dancourt.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Well I was so happy to be at Villa Dancourt that when we first entered, I grabbed a glass of wine and went to the bed to finish my great book! Imagine a place that takes your heart away when you are in Paris...so that all you want to do is stay in the apartment, climb on the bed and finish your book. And I love Paris. We shall return and I hope it is sooner and I hope it is often. PS. One of the biggest bonuses: our 15 and 16 year old girls were so happy with the apartment and the location as well...now that is a vacation!Did you find this review helpful? This is a great apartment in a terrific neighborhood. There's a huge variety of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, a great boulangerie on the corner, bars and cafés on just about everywhere you turn. The apartment itself is extremely comfortable and well furnished, with lots of modern appliances and the most thorough instruction manual we've ever encountered in a rental. Plus, it's a short walk to three Metro stops, which makes it easy to travel anywhere in the city. We stayed four days and it wasn't nearly enough. Can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone....Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We (2 grown-ups and 2 kids, ages 12 & 8) had an excellent time playing house in Montmartre. We unpacked, had local croissants and coffee in, watched "Drake and Josh" in French, and even entertained some friends from back home who happened to be traveling in Paris. It's perfectly located--close to the Sacre Coeur but not too close to the overly crowded section of Montmartre. A real score. We'll be back.Did you find this review helpful? What a fabulous apartment! From the moment of our booking to our departure our stay at Villa Dancourt was highly memorable. We felt completely at home and were very sad to leave. Montmartre is a great area to stay and we had nowhere near enough time to discover all that it offered! The apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. From DVDs to great cookbooks and more. Make sure you visit the Champion Supermarket around the corner on your arrival as there were so many delicious things to eat and drink - there is only so much you can consume in 7 days! We hope to visit again soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
