We just spent several days in Paris with our 13 year old. We loved staying in the apartment. The location is great, it's got a good kitchen where you can cook if you don't want to eat out every night. The wireless internet is really good too. The pull-out in the living room makes a good second bedroom for a child. I highly recommend staying here. We had a great time.

It was her first time in Paris and Angie absolutely loved her stay. The apartment was very well located and fully stocked. We were constantly discovering little hidden treasures around each corner. My favorite was the roving 12 member brass band that jazzed up our stroll one afternoon. Or was it just sitting in one of the many cafes just soaking up the ambiance. All this was just blocks from the appartment! Yes, everyone says it but now I know why. We will be back. Warmest Regards, Brian and Angie

This is an ideal apartment for a couple or small family. Comfortably furinished with all amenities, lived in and not antiseptic, witha comfortable bath and shower. The kitchen is small (no surprise) but well furnished and well stocked with the basic so you don't have to go buy salt and coffee filters (we've had rentals where there was nothing). Having the extra room (rather than a studio) makes a big difference, so you don't end up tripping over your extra luggage. Location is very good, close to multiple metro lines and fairly easy to get anywhere in Paris. There is great neighborhood food shopping both above and below the apartment (Rue Lepic and rue des Martyrs). Most importantly, the apartment is very quiet, despite being close to a busy street and very busy tourist area. Area felt very safe because it is busy at all times. Some people might be put off by Pigalle just to the west, but it is very easily avoided. Definitely recommend and will definitely try and book again.

We had quite a tall order--find a nice apartment big enough for two adults and a five-month-old baby, with a washer/dryer, and convenient to all the sights in a safe, fun, and accessible neighborhood. Well we found all of this and MORE in Villa Dancourt. A gorgeous sunny apartment, where you can watch the sunrise and moonrise with your morning cup of coffee and pain du chocolat. Comfy bed, plenty of storage even for our long five-week stay, and fully equipped kitchen (bamboo steamer, even!). Close to great shops, grocery stores, awesome food shops, fun antiques, clothing, and also fantastic for walking around enjoying the street mojo. The sofa bed is also just as comfortable as the main bed (we tested it out) and there's plenty of room for a dinner party, we entertained family who came up to Paris to see us. And there are four or five metro stops within a five-minute walk, you can hit virtually all the major sites without even transferring metro lines. And for being in such a dense neighborhood, the apartment was absolutely quiet--six floors suddenly feels like a long way. Next time we're in Paris, we are definitely going to look up Villa Dancourt.

This is a great apartment in a terrific neighborhood. There's a huge variety of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, a great boulangerie on the corner, bars and cafés on just about everywhere you turn. The apartment itself is extremely comfortable and well furnished, with lots of modern appliances and the most thorough instruction manual we've ever encountered in a rental. Plus, it's a short walk to three Metro stops, which makes it easy to travel anywhere in the city. We stayed four days and it wasn't nearly enough. Can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone....

Well I was so happy to be at Villa Dancourt that when we first entered, I grabbed a glass of wine and went to the bed to finish my great book! Imagine a place that takes your heart away when you are in Paris...so that all you want to do is stay in the apartment, climb on the bed and finish your book. And I love Paris. We shall return and I hope it is sooner and I hope it is often. PS. One of the biggest bonuses: our 15 and 16 year old girls were so happy with the apartment and the location as well...now that is a vacation!

We (2 grown-ups and 2 kids, ages 12 & 8) had an excellent time playing house in Montmartre. We unpacked, had local croissants and coffee in, watched "Drake and Josh" in French, and even entertained some friends from back home who happened to be traveling in Paris. It's perfectly located--close to the Sacre Coeur but not too close to the overly crowded section of Montmartre. A real score. We'll be back.

What a fabulous apartment! From the moment of our booking to our departure our stay at Villa Dancourt was highly memorable. We felt completely at home and were very sad to leave. Montmartre is a great area to stay and we had nowhere near enough time to discover all that it offered! The apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. From DVDs to great cookbooks and more. Make sure you visit the Champion Supermarket around the corner on your arrival as there were so many delicious things to eat and drink - there is only so much you can consume in 7 days! We hope to visit again soon!

We just returned from a delightful two week stay at Villa Dancourt as part of a surprise birthday present for my wife. Since she had no involvement in selecting the apartment, the pressure was on to come up with a good choice! (We like to visit Paris as often as we can and are experienced apartment renters but this was our first foray in the 18th.) I am pleased to report that Villa Dancourt is all that it is represented to be on the website...and more. It is cozy, bright, has lots of character (with many art deco furnishings) and is incredibly well equipped. Everything worked perfectly and the apartment "manual" left nothing to the imagination in terms of operating the appliances. The neighborhood is eclectic in a positive way and very active at night, yet the apartment is extremely quiet. Jeffrey (the owner) was very professional to deal with and helpful in arranging special touches for my wife's birthday surprise. Based on our experience, I can state with confidence that Villa Dancourt makes a great Parisian "home away from home."

hi jeffrey! thanks so much for accommodating me at your beautiful apartment at villa dancourt. within the first few minutes of my 5 week stay, i felt immediately at home. i watched almost every DVD you had, took notes on the french slang book, and for the first time in my life, cooked pretty much every night. the kitchen is fabulously stocked with everything i could have wanted. the bed is super comfy and the apartment overall is comfortable and beautiful. i was extremely sad leaving at the end of my stay, and look forward to recommending the apt to friends and family. thanks again for a memorable stay in paris! - jessica kimia

What a fabulous place! I'd never spent much time in that part of Paris - usually have stayed in the 4th or 5th and what a treat it was to be in Montmartre! The apartment couldn't have been lovelier or more practical - gorgeous light, great location, very romantic, and Jeffrey and Jason have been very thorough and thoughtful in providing lots of info about the apartment and the neighborhood. can't wait to get back there again!

«It’s already been a few weeks since our return home and the usual emotional reunion with our two cats who do not find our Parisian tales a good enough excuse for leaving them in Montreal with strangers. We think they simply are jealous of all the pleasures we do not share with them except in inept human words and limited small cat-talk… More seriously, after our third wonderful visit, we wanted to express again our thanks to let us stay in your nice apartment, where we now feel dangerously at home. Repeated indulgence tending to create strong habits and needs, you may soon have to hire a “forced eviction unit” to ensure that, next time, we (as well as many other guests, judging by their testimonials) will leave within the contracted deadlines…In short, the famous “To be continued” signature remains our standing motto, and as you can guess, we hope to invade Villa Dancourt again as soon as possible. Donc, à très bientôt!»Noel and Hélène Cormier, Montréal (Québec)

Your attention to detail in your web site and your information booklet are not only helpful but commendable. My partner and I look forward to staying there again and will share our good fortune in finding the Villa with our friends. Sincerely, John Natale

Owner response:Thanks Noël & Hélène - and since your original posting was deleted when you added the new one, I'm including it here, if only for sentimental reasons (if was our first guestbook entry, after all!) From Noël & Hélène Cormier, January, 2005: Our visit was both blissful and a blast, mostly thanks to you and your charming, elegant little niche in Paris. The beautiful Art Deco furnishing, the nice clin d’oeil to the Nouvelle Vague, even the right films on DVD... Plus it is so fully equipped—and always with good taste—that we are still trying to put a finger on a particular utensil, appliance or SOMETHING that is actually missing. In fact, everything we wished for was right there, and it was always hard to go out. Indeed, walking up Abbesses and past Rue Lepic without coming running back to the apartment was nearly impossible, as we were always fully loaded with confits, fromages, rillettes, fresh haricots verts and petites pommes de terre... Add a good wine and the wonderful bread and éclairs from Boulangerie d’Antan and it was «Let’s eat at home again! ». Villa Dancourt is the perfect place to be, but definitely for more than a week (otherwise one is always thinking of the inevitable au revoir that is so close). But, even then, it is more than worth it! To make it simple, I’d simply say : « We LOVED it!» Thanks again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Villa Dancourt. It was wonderful to stay in a place where everything works!!!!! Also, we found the decoration and furniture very comfortable and cozy. The apartment is extremely convenient and well located and we always knew that Brigitte was there if needed. Last but not least, there is a wonderful film collection which we enjoyed after being out all day!!!!!!

We loved it. I stayed at the Villa Dancourt with my daughter and nephew. The apartment is very well organized and has everything you need ranging from pots and pans to fabulous DVD's. Some of the best bread in Paris is right around the corner and the metro is just down the street. I highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment at Villa Dancourt is charming, as were the neighbors. The location is fantastically convenient to the most user-friendly public transport system I've ever used, and of course to the wonderful food and drink that helped lure you to Paris in the first place. The apartment comes equipped not only with wireless internet access (a big boon to trip-planning in itself), but a pile of maps, guidebooks, restaurant guides, and literature about this most romantic of cities. Also on the shelves for students of French: French-English dictionaries, 501 French Verbs and another language aid or two. Arranging for the rental was easy, and I found everything just as I expected. If I were looking to stay in Montmartre, I would certainly return to this apartment.

Villa Dancourt is an INCREDIBLE place and was an absolute highlight to a lovely time in Paris. The space is beautifully decorated, and every convenience has been thought of (from the washer dryer and free wifi to a great selection of CDs and films to great knives and cookware in the kitchen). It's also in a great location and easily accessible by metro; it's quiet and homey. We absolutely loved the space and would love for Jeffrey to come visit us in Seattle and decorate our home for us. Thanks again!!!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a week in Paris, using Villa Dancourt as our home base. I would highly recommend staying in this wonderful apartment. The location is excellent with Metro stations within walking distance. Also, you can shop for food at a nearby supermarket and store it in the apartment's refrigerator. We brought a small laptop with us. The apartment has wireless Internet and we were able to connect to it. We enjoyed the convenience of emailing pictures of our Paris vacation to our friends and relatives. What I liked most about the apartment was the washer-dryer. I was very grateful not to have to spend time in a laundromat! Thank you!

We truly enjoyed our stay in the apartment--a welcome change from a crowded hotel room. The apartment was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed exploring the quartier, eating at some fun restaurants and the convenience of a Metro stop so close. We are looking forward to our next trip to Paris and will definitely plan for another stay at Villa Dancourt.

The apartment is absolutely fantastic. I was there for a month and could not have asked for a better neighborhood or place to call home. One of the highlights of my trip was shopping for food and cooking for myself in the nicely equipped kitchen (this may have also saved me some money). And I particularly enjoyed its location--close enough to everything, but also far enough from where the hordes of tourists start to get scary. I expect to return!

The apartment was perfect for my two-month stay in Paris. I love the area and the apartment was well situated for walking and public transportation. I used the bus as much as possible and got a better picture of the city. The food speciality shops provide anything you might desire (strawberries, cherries and melons were in season). And of course the best tarts in Paris are to be found in a shop on rue Lepic. I strongly urge anyone with a yen for Paris to stay at the villa Dancourt.

The Villa Dancourt was an ideal location for the three of us to stay in Paris without getting into each others hair. I had worried that the apartment might feel claustrophic and cramped but the elegant decor and room layout made us feel quite comfortable. Everything was thought of and provided for, all beds were very comfortable, and we made ourselves right at home! Would we recommend staying here? You bet. Come back ourselves? In a heartbeat!

I loved my visit to your elegant yet totally comfortable apartment! Everything was provided; the internet connection was super fast; the mattress was incredibly comfortable. Traveling alone on this trip. I really appreciated how safe I felt in Villa Dancourt. The serenity surprised me-- here I was in the middle of Paris and it was so quiet! This really was a treat after long days exploring the city and walking everywhere. Lastly, the connection to CDG airport was a breeze. I had to leave in the early a.m., but the quick Metro ride to the RER made everything easy. I can't wait to return with my husband.

We're back from our week at your Paris apartment, and I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. You have obviously given a lot of thought to the comfort and needs of your guests, and it is much appreciated. It was for us, a 'sympatico' kind of place...in furnishings, location, small details...our young Montmartre friend (who lives just north of the vineyard) was quite impressed! Thanks for being so organized and efficient, and for having the foresight to set up your wonderful place!

My partner, Kris, and I stayed for 6 weeks in the spring of '05. The apartment was exactly what we wanted. We ended up cooking quite a bit. With Rue des Martyrs just steps away, how could we pass up the fresh meats, cheeses and veg? The apartment itself was beautiful and peaceful. The perfect place to spend six weeks in the most beautiful city in the world!

Utterly perfect. My family and I stayed at Villa Dancourt for five days last October, and the location could not have been better for us, and it was SO close to the metro! We were able to get around town with great ease. The apt. notebook was particularly helpful, with its menus and recommendations. We were able to sleep five comfortably - with one person on the sofa cushions on the floor. My only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time in the apartment!

Delighted! My 13 year old son and I stayed for a week in villa dancourt. The apartment is in a magical location. It is beautifully presented with everything one could possibly need (even bath robes). The booking arrangements with the owners were easy and straightforward and everything went without a hitch. I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment to anyone who loves to shop, buy in local markets, cook and experience a piece of paris that no hotel-goer can ever hope to gain. My only reservation in providing this review is that it may make my next reservation more difficult if word gets out. My thanks for an unforgettable week. David & Gabriel Saul Sydney, Australia

It took us all of an hour after moving into Villa Dancourt to feel as if we actually lived in Paris! The apartment is charming and well appointed and conveniently located along both the metro and bus lines for easy and fast access to the heart of Paris. As part of our visit was business oriented and hectic, lovely Montmartre and the apartment beckoned us home each evening to a hot bath or shower(great water pressure by the way!)and dinner at one of the local bistros. We have been back for two weeks and are already planning our return to Villa Dancourt.

We had a great time in Paris and at Ville Dancourt. The apartment was very comfortable for the five of us (four adults and one toddler). Having such a great place to stay in such a lively neighborhood really contributed to our enjoyable time and made traveling easy with a 20 month old. All the appliances were great, but the best part was the detailed instructions that were left in the handy booklet that also included restaurant recommendations and information about the neighborhood. We also took advantage of the DVD library and high-speed internet. Several nights we cooked meals in and found everything that we needed. My father was so impressed with the sofa- bed that he wrote down the name of the manufacturer's information to see if he could get one back home! After our eight days were up we found ourselves wanting to stay longer and would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

As guests enjoying the charm and comfort of Villa Dancourt, my 18 year old daughter and I had a memorable and relaxed visit to Paris, this our second. Without question, having a "home away from home" enabled us to sustain a active and busy week in Paris, one that let us pace ourselves by shopping, cooking, reflecting on the wonderful experiences we were having. We especially appreciated the simple elegance and comfort of the apartment. While very hot in Paris when we were there, the open windows provided a delightful breeze and we were impressed at how quiet the neighbors and neighborhood was. It took no time to get settled, the welcome book provided a rich resource, and it was very easy to plan the daily itinerary with what information we brought but also all the great information and books provided in the apartment. Paris speaks for itself, but without question we will go back knowing that we have a special place to explore more fully. We give Villa Dancourt the heartiest of recommendation. The only regret is not having more time there. Best, Stephanie and Chelsea Piedmont, California

Thank you! We all loved the place! When we were heading home and going over our trip highlights, our fourteen-year old son noted how much he liked “coming home to our apartment” and we all readily agreed. I think we had all been prepared to be disappointed in what we found despite your website description and pictures. However, it was a perfect place for us! Each day we walked up to Sacre Couer at least once to see the city unfold below. We walked all over the city from Villa Dancourt, from one wonderful highlight to the next, fueled by all too many baguettes, croissants, and pain au chocolat! We hope to go back to Paris again, and when we do we hope that we will be able to stay once again at Villa Dancourt. Bravo!--Lori, Ben, Micah, and Anya All the Best, -Lori

Bravo! --Lori, Ben, Micah, and Anya All the Best, -Lori

I truly enjoyed every minute of my amazing Thanksgiving vacation in Paris. My vacation was made even more special because I stayed at Villa Dancourt. Villa Dancourt was the ideal place to have spent the holiday and following weeks. It is a cozy, beautifully decorated apartment located in the lovely Montmartre district. The apartment is the absolute perfect home away from home. It is fully equipped for entertaining as well as spending quiet nights indoors. Wonderful cafes, boulangeries, wine stores, and open-air markets are within blocks of Villa Dancourt. Staying at Villa Dancourt made my vacation to Paris all the more marvelous and memorable.
