Escape to Angels Landing, our comfortable mountain cabin just two miles from the charming town of Highlands. Watch the day break on the wraparound deck among the treetops and native mountain laurel and breathe in the cool, crisp mountain air. Feel the stress of your everyday world melt away in the bubbling, private hot tub under a tin roof. Gaze in awe at the star-filled sky at night.
Just in case you don't want to be completely away from it all, wireless internet service is provided.
Relax in front of the stacked stone fireplace below a beamed, tongue and groove ceiling. Enjoy the quiet of the mountains or listen to your favorite music. Create your own culinary feats or choose from among Highlands' famous dining experiences. A brand-new Weber gas grill is on the deck and just steps away from the fully-equipped kitchen.
Master bedroom with king bed and private bath is downstairs, adjacent to the hot tub. Upstairs is a spacious second bedroom with a queen bed and private bath (tub only). A loft with futon is just off the upstairs bedroom and makes a great reading nook and provides a twin bed for an extra guest. The split floor plan affords privacy for two couples and gives kids their own world away from parents (and that works both ways!).
Walk to nearby Glen Falls and select one of several interesting trails and waterfalls, enjoying a fabulous view of the Blue Valley not far from the trailhead. Located in the Nantahala National Forest, the area is filled with many other hiking trails and waterfalls as well as a variety of outdoor activities.
Venture into town and experience a unique blend of quaintness and sophistication. Interesting shops and exceptional restaurants staffed with friendly locals will delight even the most experienced traveler! Art galleries, regional theatre, and a summer chamber concert series will further stimulate the senses. An exceptional day spa in the heart of Highlands offers a variety of treatments for men and women.
At an elevation of 4118 feet, you will encounter a moderate climate year round with cool summers and just-cold-enough winters when the quiet beauty of the abundant evergreens (possibly with snow) and slower pace offers a real retreat. (Rates are lower in January through May, too.)
Firewood is provided as are all linens, including flannel sheets, down comforters, thick towels and terry-cloth guest robes. Iron, ironing board, and a full-size washer and dryer will help you to look your best! Also available are a selection of books, games and movies. Television contains VCR and DVD. Kitchen is fully-equipped with service for eight, coffee maker and coffee grinder, blender, microwave oven, gas range, refrigerator with in-door ice and water service. All you need are personal items and food!
This is a no-smoking property. Because of the hot tub and open risers to the second floor, this is not an appropriate property for children under age 6.
