We so enjoyed staying at the Papa Bear house over President's Day weekend! We were three families, and there was plenty of room. The giant living/dining/TV room was amazing. We loved the hot-tub, and the little deer that visited us two days in a row. I would highly recommend it, and would love to stay at the Papa Bear again!

I stayed here with a group of friends over the New Year's holiday and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and the owners are incredibly hospitable. They even had bath robes laid out on the all beds for us! I would recommend the Papa Bear to anyone looking for the perfect getaway in the woods.

Our three families of four had an exquisite time in he lodge. We spent our days lounging and reading, and our evenings by the river. It is obvious that you take great care in this special place and we thank you for sharing it with us. Memories were built.... P.S. this was the best 40th birthday weekend I could imagine.

Dear Drue, We had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the large living room at Papa Bears. Ideal for a rainy Memorial weekend. We barely noticed the kids underfoot. They swam and hiked in the Yuba! We look forward to coming back in any season. Kind regards. P.S Sorry we didn't meet Rene, but we loved her pottery and style-next time.

Just a note to thank you! We had such a good time in your wonderful lodge. My dad was very surprised... actually, shocked by his surprise 80th party. We would love to come back again....This is a memory that all of us will hold in our hearts forever.

This was the perfect place for our daughter's family to stay for her wedding. It reflected on so many values we hold. Nature, natural setting, quiet and room to come together and share. Rene and Drue, you were so helpful and flexible, thank you. We had a wonderful stay. I am exhausted from the wedding but renewed in spirit. I think I will smell the lavender before I go to take a little of Papa Bear with us.

We spent the weekend at Papa Bear's and hardly left the house! We ate breakfast on the large deck while deer and wild turkeys passed by, played ping pong and soaked in the huge hot tub. Drue and Rene were fantastic and very accommodating. This is an amazing location! We loved it and will definitely be back again.

We found this place last minute through VRBO for the Labor Day weekend. The lodge was great and we had a ver relaxing time. The short drive to downtown (which we also found very dog-friendly) meant lots of nice shoping and excellent dining choices. We will definitely consider this place next time we are in town.

We just stayed at this property this past weekend. Truly a wonderful house with great amenities. I have rented many homes through VRBO and this one is top notch. Great backyard with deck, ping pong table, bbq. Close proximity to the beautiful Yuba River for swimming in the summertime. Rene and Drue are great hosts as well!

The upscale log construction and antique furnishings of this cabin were quite comforting for us. We had several week long stays. Besides the quiet wooded atmosphere a few minutes from town, we had functional space for sleeping, cooking, eating, reading and videos. It is a place to get some office work done in peace away from all the distractions- except for the many regional ammenities beakoning outside. We felt a part of this unique mountain neighborhood and yet had our privacy to unwind.

I had a fantastic 1 week stay at your beautiful and charming log cabin. The cabin is very cozy and comfortable. I really had a great time swimming in the rivers,driving through the mountains and beautiful places around Nevada city, and to Lake Tahoe. Not to mention, the great hospitality of Rene and Drue made my stay a memorable one. I will be back again, if possible.

Your cabin is beautiful and most comfortable. I slept wonderfully and enjoyed my daily hikes. I will be back.
