The Tolle House is an historic two story brick Victorian home built in 1898 which has been renovated and updated consistently over the last few years, most recently in 2013. The house retains its old world charm, but has all of the modern amenities of an upscale rental. Just a five minute walk to the park, a dozen world-class restaurants and the town center, you can leave your car at the house and relax for the duration. Enjoy the quiet retreat of a grand old home filled with a mix of fine antiques, modern amenities and new, high quality furnishings. Laze in the private, shaded backyard, complete with in ground pool, spa (with wireless remote) and BBQ and enjoy a meal with a glass of fine Paso wine. If you are a bicyclist, look no further. The house is surrounded by some of the world’s finest road cycling (with excellent mountain biking just a few miles away) and offers easy, moderate and challenging routes right from our door. Being cyclists ourselves (we fell in love with Paso on a cycling trip) we know how nice it is to have a place to securely store your bikes and work on them. In the dedicated (spacious) bike room you will find Park Professional Repair Stands (two regular clamp style, one fork mount style); a Park Tool Wheel Truing Stand; a stainless steel work bench; floor pumps; and a variety of Park Tools for basic maintenance. You will also find a modest supply of tubes, lube, CO2 cartridges and some Gu hanging around (use and replace, please). There is a huge wall map with the excellent routes highlighted and we are always happy to share suggestions for daily routes on request. We have two vintage Schwinn bikes, and 2 fat tire bikes, available for our guests to cruise around town on. If you need to rent bikes, the fine folks at www.pasobiketours.com will deliver bikes right to the house at your request. Our central location is a short walk to town square and numerous restaurants, wine tasting rooms, a good coffee shop, antique shops and other boutique stores. We are within easy reach of happenings in the park; the state fair grounds; vineyard and wine tasting tours; the beach; Lake Nacimiento; Hearst Castle and beautiful scenic drives along the wild California coast or inland hills. There is much to see and do here. We have enjoyed filling the house with a mix of quality antiques and new, more modern furnishings. The house has its original Douglas fir floors, doors, hardware, and baseboards throughout. Some of the original light fixtures still hang in their place as well. We have tried to remain true to the era in our work and let the inherent beauty of the old home shine through. Decoration has been done with a respectful nod to the Victorian period, but without any of the fuss. Emphasis is placed on simple elegance, inviting comfort and warmth -things we have come to expect in a quality home. There are four bedrooms and three baths upstairs. In addition there is a queen bedroom downstairs. The master bedroom has a king bed and spacious private bath attached with walk in, marble tiled shower and pedestal sink. A second bedroom holds a queen bed, also attached to a private bath with walk in, tiled shower. A third full bathroom lies at the end of the hallway, complete with the original claw foot soaker tub/shower combination. This bath is shared between a third bedroom with a queen bed and a fourth bedroom with two extra long twins which can be converted to a king on request. All the beds have quality mattresses, non allergenic pillows, comforters and Egyptian cotton linens for a perfect night’s sleep. Downstairs you will find a fully equipped, gourmet kitchen with granite and butcher block counters and new stainless steel appliances. We supply a well stocked pantry and request that guests simply replenish those items which are used up during your stay. The dining/living area centers on an antique oak table that can easily seat 10+. The downstairs bedroom has a new queen bed and wide screen TV. Guests housed downstairs have access to a full bath with walk in tiled shower. There is also a formal parlor with plenty of extra space to read a book, play cards or sip a glass of wine and a wide screen tv if you want to kick back and enjoy a movie. Coffered ceilings, a lovely painted bay window, and tasteful furnishings add to the wonderful ambiance to visit with and entertain friends and family. The pool/spa area is a private Eden at the back of the house. Securely fenced off for child safety, the pool deck is a great place to enjoy a family bbq or relax with a beverage at the end of the day. The house is equipped with central heat and air conditioning; high speed wireless internet; two large flat-screen TV's (with unlimited Netflix movies); a nice stereo system; full size washer/dryer and all new appliances as one would expect in a quality home. The yard has just been landscaped and provides a beautiful backdrop to the relaxed setting. We hope you will fall in love with our place and Paso as we have and become a regular visitor. Enjoy.

About the owner: We are an active outdoor family from Alaska. We discovered and fell in love with Paso while on a road cycling trip a few years ago. While Alaska will always be home, we hope to spend more time here in the winter months once our kids have flown the nest.
Why the Owner Chose Paso Robles: 'Paso' still has that old world charm that allows you to slow down and unwind in a climate that is perfect all year round. We love being able to walk to town and bike from our door, but most of all, the house has that unique, peaceful atmosphere that only comes with the grace of a beautiful old home. Besides that, we love being able to walk to numerous world class restaurants and to be able to walk home again after enjoying some local wine!!
The Unique Benefits at this House: We love just hanging out here, whether surrounded by friends at the grand dining room table or out by the pool having a bbq. There is always something fun going on at the City Park or fine wining and dining to explore - all within walking distance! The road biking in the area hooked us.
