Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your house in Kona. Everything was very clean and well stocked. The pool was quite refreshing, and the location was excellent--far enough from the center of activities to be quiet, but not so far as to be inconvenient.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent a happy thirteen nights at the Ohana. The house (houses, actually) had a warm, "island" feel, and it was a two minute walk to Kahalu'u Beach, with its excellent snorkeling. The pool and back yard area were peaceful, and afforded us a private sanctuary whenever we felt like being hermits. The air conditioners in the bedrooms came in handy at night, although the fans kept us cool enough in the daytime. The sunset view from the lanai was really beautiful. The caretaker, Jeff, was extremely friendly, and his thorough knowledge of the island and the neighborhood smoothed the way for us. There are many places to eat, drink and shop within a short drive, but the house is a bit away from the bustle of the Ali-i Drive "strip", which suited us just fine. The beautiful little geckos were pleasant companions; they are pretty much always around. Lots of bird life as well- mourning doves, cardinals, etc. Overall, it's easy for us to recommend the Ohana wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, private place to decompress when they come to the Big Island. Mahalo, Robyn And John! P.S.- If you are there at 11:30 A.M. on the first of the month, don't panic when you hear the tsunami warning siren- it's just the monthly test!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Ohana was our Kona-area home for 10 days. There were 2 couples staying the first week; mu husband and I stayed on an extra 3 days after the other couple left. The owner was very flexible in working out an extra 3 days for my husband and me. The home was just as promised and the photos are a good representation of it. The home was well stocked with basic staples and kitchen tools. We BBQ'd each night (fresh Ahi from Costco is the best!) and enjoyed a nice dinner out on the lanai. Lovely sunsets many evenings. We could walk down and be in the water snorkeling at the best spot we found in our 10 days (except perhaps Captain Cook) in 10 minutes. Wow! Note, we did NOT ever have time to swim in the pool. The washer/dryer worked well and was stocked with laundry soap and dryer sheets. There were coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. for our use as well. Very nice and made us feel "at home". The house was spot-less and the yard/garden well cared for. The caretaker was available and lives in the property just up from the Ohana. All was quiet and private, except for one evening there was something happening until about 9:30 pm at the nearby Outrigger such that we could hear some fairly loud music. It only happened one night during our 10 day stay. Some fun things we did: Kona Boys at Kealakekua are great for kayak rentals to to out to Captain Cook to snorkel. Sat in the bay on our kayaks for about 30 minutes as a pod of spinner dolphins circled our boats. Awesome! The Coffee Shack is wonderful for breakfast, with a beautiful view. Be sure to try it. And Hula Daddy has an amazing tour if you are a Kona coffee lover. Be sure also to take a day (full-day) to visit the Volcano (Kilauea) and don't skip driving out on Chain Of Craters road to see where the lava covered the road and creamed a seaside resort (1986). Also great little place to eat in Volcano in Kiawe Kitchen. Suprisingly good!. And Jackie Reys in Kailua-Kona has great seafood, no ocean view though. Huggo's for a drink and watching the sunset (go to Jackie Reys to eat though). And love Crazy Shirt for comfortable aloha-wear. The Ohana is a nice place. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again, Robin, for a comfy home away from home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

What a wonderful place you have! Myself and my husband, along with another couple, stayed in this beautiful home - with all the comforts of our Canadian home. Every evening we watched the sunset from the fantastic (large) lanai. With such a well equipped home, we could make all our own meals. The caretaker on site was awesome - if we needed anything, he helped us out immediately. We made friends with the geckos, enjoyed refreshing dips in the pool, and took advance of the awesome snorkeling right across the street. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had so much fun at your home in Hawaii, but, as I'm going through pictures, I'm reminded of how special our time there was. The house was great and felt so much like 'home' right away. I loved that. My son and friend have never been to Hawaii and they loved every minute of it! We really enjoyed the beach across the street for snorkeling and we found some other beaches too. Mile post 69 beach near Puako was a favorite also. We thoroughly enjoyed the Big Island everyday and loved coming "home" each evening. We had several meals on the lanai and took way too many pictures of the sunsets! Thank you so much for the great accommodations. I hope we get a chance to stay there again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Our Hawaii vacation went by way too fast. The Big Island has a tremendous amount to offer as a vacation spot. I wish we could have stayed longer. We really enjoyed your house. My only problem was that each morning while sitting out on the lanai, reading a book, drinking a fresh brewed cup of Kona coffee and looking out on the ocean, that I had to convince myself not to spend the whole day doing nothing else. Your house is delightful and I'm sure you get a lot of enjoyment just knowing that it is there for you when you have the time to get away. Jeff and Jamie were good caretakers. They were very friendly and available to help, without being intrusive. I hope we can get out there again someday.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I just want you to know that I had a terrific time and got a lot of much needed rest and relaxation in over the week. You have a very nice home and I enjoyed the privacy it provided; the pool and bbq were both well used by me. Your caretakers are wonderful and were 'invisible' though I knew they were ready to respond at a moments notice. I thank you for the great opportunityand perhaps (with you approval) another visit next year might be possible. Many thanks and best wishes.Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I took our two kids on a family vacation to Kona stayed at the Ohana house January 2010 and it was fantastic! Each morning we watched the sun rise enjoyed coffee on the lanai and the best part of the day was escaping from the crowds to enjoy the private pool. This rental was in wonderful condition, very well maintained and made our experience even more special. Thanks for opening your home to us! Mahalo :o)Did you find this review helpful? Hi Robyn, Well we're back from Hawai'i, and I just wanted to let you know that we had a simply marvelous time. Your house was truly lovely, and was just perfect for our small group. Little Miss Arcadia really loved the geckos! Doc was very nice indeed, and we enjoyed meeting him. Thanks so much, from all of us, for everything you did to make our vacation so special. It was hard to come home, but we hope to visit the Miletich Ohana again someday! Regards, Eileen HoytDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This was a vacation to remember for a lifetime! The Kahaluu Beach Ohana Home was perfect in every way and its location meant that we could walk to the beach, snorkeling, surfing, and shops. The amenities and condition of the home and the grounds exceeded our expectations. We even enjoyed the cute geckos which visited us on the lanai each day! It was obvious that the owners made every effort to provide an enjoyable experience for their guests. We would love to return to this beautiful and convenient property each year. Thank you, thank you, thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
