About: We are pleased to have you visit Shelburne for a taste of the home we love. We are a family of sailors and have been cruising the East Coast of North America for the past 10 years (and 50,000 miles). Several years ago we first visited Shelburne en-route to Cape Breton and the Bras d’Or Lakes. After a rough, cold, foggy crossing from Cape Cod, Shelburne Harbour opened up to us. The fog lifted, the temperature rose and the seas abated. Once ashore, the yacht club welcomed us and it seemed everyone in town smiled and greeted us as we wandered the shops and museums of the Historic Properties. The unique waterfront reflects the roots of Atlantic Canada; its culture, its economy and its proud heritage. For us, it was love-at-first-sight.
Why Shelburne: The more we returned to Shelburne, the more we liked it; good shopping, fresh lobster, theatre, outstanding restaurants and the warmest, friendliest people anywhere. A few years later we bought this house. Shorewood is in the heart of Shelburne with access to all the amenities yet has water views from every room in the house, spacious grounds with magnificent trees and abundant bird-life. It truly has the best of everything.
Oh, we are still sailing for as much of the year as possible but whenever we can’t be on the water, you’ll find us here. We have furnished and decorated the house with mementos and souvenirs of our travels. We hope you’ll enjoy them too but will appreciate their value and delicacy. They mean a lot to us.
We hope you’ll enjoy Shorewood as much as we do and during your stay we wish you Blue skies, Fair winds,
Good times and Great friends.
