Pacific Grove house description
Our home has two comfortable bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a new, luxurious mattress. The living-room sofa also converts to a full-size bed to accommodate additional guests. The house has all the amenities, including a new dishwasher, new washer/dryer, and wireless internet. Wood floors and elevated ceilings provide a warm yet expansive quality, and there is plenty of room in the living room and dining room for enjoying family meals, games and conversation.
The backyard is very large, grassy, and fully enclosed by a 6-ft fence, providing safe and ample space for any visiting pets. There are several lovely oak trees, an outdoor dining area, fire pit, heat lamp, and horseshoe pit.
Perhaps the best thing about the property is its location. Located on a quiet, neighborhood street, it feels as though you must be miles from town, when in fact you are only several blocks from everything. Within a short walking distance you can find a grocery store (Nob Hill is only two blocks away, Trader Joe's is about 1 mile), many different restaurants (from world-class cuisine to casual pub fare, to many different ethnic foods), and a variety of great bars, from ocean-front cocktails to local dives. There are many different shops, beach access points, a gorgeous bike trail, an indoor black-light mini-golf course, and of course the unforgettable aquarium on Cannery Row. All of these are within a 5-10 minute walk. You could happily park your car at the house and not get back in it for the duration of your stay.
Of course, there are other not-to-be missed destinations that require a drive, such as a trip along the Big Sur Coast (about 30 minutes south), or a drive through Pebble beach. Carmel-by-the-Sea, with its myriad shops and excellent dining opportunities is just over the hill, about 15 minutes away. Carmel Valley is home to many vineyards, and offers consistently sunny, warm weather along with a great day of wine tasting.

Everything we needed and more
Everything we needed and more
We stayed for 2 nights at this cozy and beautiful house very close to the ocean and many attractions in Pacific Grove and Monterey. We were attending a wedding and there were 4 of us, plus and infant. The home had a gorgeous back yard and patio where we ate lunch together and enjoyed the sunny day. Had it been cold there was a gas heater for our use on the patio. We took several walks along the bike/hike path, went down to the Aquarium and Cannery Row and were within walking distance of so many great restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped- we even had a waffle iron to use and a blender along with toaster oven, lots of pots and pans and beautiful dishes. The washer and dryer were a huge plus. We did not use the TV as we were too busy, but if you just wanted to stay in at night, that was available as well. Lance was extremely helpful from the moment we inquired about the property and he answered all of our questions. He even offered and delivered a high chair and portable crib for the baby which was extremely helpful and greatly appreciated. Both items were very clean. We found no problems at all with the house and we very happy with the comfy beds, the shower, the living and dining areas and the kitchen. The house was immaculate and very well decorated. I would recommend it to couples or families. I do not think you could find a more comfortable or well located rental in the area.

Beautiful vacation spot!
Beautiful vacation spot!
We truly enjoyed our week in PG. The house was very comfortable and well appointed and even seemed larger than a 2/1. The huge backyard was a bonus for reading in the afternoons and enjoying the fire pit. We loved the location, walking distance to the Aquarium, Cannery Row, Lovers Point and great restaurants. We would love to come back and would recommend this lovely, quiet home for a couple, small family or two couples. Lance was very accommodating and made checking in and connecting very easy.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were in town for the annual Monterey car week. The house was excellently situated to get to all of the events. House is in great shape and was a great base for us to get around all week long.

About the owner: Lance and I were married in July of 2012 in Lake Tahoe, one of our other favorite places in the world. I was born and raised on the Monterey peninsula, and after a number of years away from the area, returned to teach at a Waldorf-inspired charter school in Pacific Grove. Lance relocated here from Tahoe, and works for Trader Joe's. Our adorable dog, Tia, has enjoyed many afternoons running in circles around the backyard. We are blessed to welcome our first child into the world in May of 2013.
Why the Owner Chose Pacific Grove:
We have a lot of extended family in the area, and jobs we love, so we knew we wanted to put down roots here. We looked for the right property for a long time before finally settling on this one. In the end, it was the unbeatable location and the spectacular yard that won us over. The ocean view didn't hurt, either. Large yards are hard to come by in Pacfic Grove, and we love to spend time outside, whether we're gardening, throwing horseshoes, playing with the dog, or just lounging and reading in the mild PG weather, it's a real treat to have such a wonderful space to enjoy.
