Running Heron Cottage is the perfect escape to the Wine Country. Enjoy your morning coffee on the sunlit patio as Redtail Hawks soar overhead. Relax into the steaming private spa with a glass of champagne by starlight. Read a good book under the old oak nestled in a cozy small zinfandel vineyard with views of Sonoma Mountain, and access to the wild Sonoma Creek. This architecturally designed casita combines high ceilings, an open plan, and a palette of warm Tuscan colors into a cozy, relaxing atmosphere from which to begin your wine country adventure.
The cottage features contemporary furnishings and paintings by local artists. The fireplace provides a warm glow in the private bedroom and living area. The spacious bath includes a large shower for two in tumbled travertine. Enjoy a full kitchen. French doors open onto the patio where the moon and stars await you.
We are located in Glen Ellen, at the Heart of Sonoma Valley's premiere grape growing region. We are five minutes from Glen Ellen's restaurants, ten minutes from Sonoma's Plaza, and 30 minutes from Napa. Savory dining, hiking, biking, golf, and horseback riding are all here for you to enjoy!

My wife and I spent two nights in this wonderful cottage to celebrate Valentine's Day. My wife keeps asking me when we are going back. The cottage is a wonderfully designed space that makes great use of every square inch. It's quiet, private, and looks out upon the grape vines. Fresh flowers and a bottle of wine were waiting for us when we arrived. We really enjoyed the Valley of the Moon winery right around the corner. The only negative comment I have is that the sofa in the living room is extremely low to the ground and not very comfortable (I'm 6'2"). Everything else about this cottage is terrific. We will come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I had a fantastic long weekend at the cottage. A quiet, beautiful setting, and only a short driving distance to many wineries, the Sonoma town square and the little town of Glen Ellen. Amenities such as a full kitchen, separate sitting area, and private hot tub make it much nicer than staying at a hotel.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We stayed at this wonderful house in the wine country. After busy days shopping it was wonderful to come home to our own space. The house had everything we could ask for and was in a quite convenient location. We loved curling up with a good book and listening to nature. The house has a great view. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We'll be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
