West Vail townhome, sleeps 3 couples comfortably or 2 couples with kids. You will be on the slopes faster than if you stayed in the main village and walked to the lift. Located 50 steps from the free bus route (two minutes to lifts, five minutes to Vail Village). The whole place is brand new inside.
Bedrooms: 2 very large master bedrooms each with grand log furniture and queen-size mattresses so thick that you cannot help but have a terrific sleep. Both masters have their own television set. One master has a single murphy bed as well. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds (one with a very thick double-size mattress), and a cathedral ceiling. There is a full bath on the second floor.

If you are looking for a charming place to stay in Vail, the "Bareskin Lodge" is a wonderful place to stay. The overall feel is like a cozy but modern cabin in this three-bedroom condo. The owners have taken great care to decorate and make this an inviting and comfortable stay that is also kid friendly. It has everything you need for a vacation away.
When you walk in the door, the beautiful new kitchen is on the left with granite counter tops, new slate stone tile floor and all new appliances. On the right is an oversized laundry room with a bench and racks for ski gear. Also on the main floor is a nice big dining room table to the left with a bar looking into the kitchen. Gorgeous pine floors give it a modern but mountain feel. And the main floor has a sunken family room with a pull-out sofa, a fireplace, a TV-entertainment cabinet and stereo and a bathroom.
Out the back door is a deck, heated pool for the summer and a hot tub, both shared by the quiet condo complex. I visited in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed the heated pool.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms plus a small loft, almost like a tree house with a mattress - it was a great find. The master is spacious with a big queen-size bed, a TV, closets and a balcony looking over the pool and mountainside. The middle room has four beds (two bunk beds). The other room is a spacious room with another comfy queen-size bed. This place can sleep up to 12! Each room has a humidifier and fan. The owners have created a kid-friendly place with a play yard, a booster seat and toys for the bear cubs to enjoy.
The condo complex was quiet with parking right out front, a park up the road, stores near by, a few steps from the free bus stop and ten minutes from Vail Village and skiing. Everything is so convenient.
Vail is just a gorgeous mountain town. There is so much to do: ski, hike, bike, relax, swim, shop and dine. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at the Bareskin Lodge and know you will too!
Warmly,
VRBO Bear

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
Paul and I live in Denver with our two elementary school children. We own the townhouse next door to this rental unit. We go skiing every weekend. We load on the free bus 50 feet from the front of our place and ride it for 3 minutes to the cascade chair lift.
Why the Owner Chose Ptarmigan Townhomes
We own the townhouse with our cousins who live in Chicago. We bought it before moving to Denver as a way to get together and ski with our families on a regular basis.
The Unique Benefits of this Townhome
The place is easy to get in and out of with two parking spaces immediately outside the unit. The free bus is very close, and the ride to the lifts is very short by Vail standards. West Vail has great proximity to grocery shopping and restaurants. In the summer time, the pool, back lawn and creek are a huge attraction for the kids.

Our family really enjoyed the week that we spent in west vail. The condo is very comfortable and close to everything you could want in Vail. The 4th of July activities nearby were off the charts. Hiking and bike riding were awesome in the vail area. The kids also loved the pool and hot tub!

Four of us decided on a last minute spring ski trip and came upon Paul and Debbie's townhouse in our semi-frantic search for a place to stay. What a coup for us! It's a great place! Very well kept, incredibly convenient (we were in the gondola line something like 12 minutes after leaving the house with no parking hassles!), right on the TOV bus line (stop literally out the front door - all the village has to offer in minutes), a couple minutes from groceries, coffee, sushi... and it held four adults way more than comfortably (and that bunk room would be great for a small brood!). Paul and Debbie were extremely helpful and very receptive. All in all the only regret I have is that we didn't get to meet them in person! We would all highly recommend Bareskin Lodge as your home-away in Vail - we'll definitely be back!

Great accomodations: Nice fixtures, blankets, sheets, beds. First floor and just steps from bus stop means no hassle with stairs and parking.

This condo is terrific. Our family of 4 stayed here over Christmas week and had a wonderful time. Even though Christmas is the busiest week of the year, getting to and from the mountain was a breeze. The shuttle bus stop is steps away and the first stop is the Cascade lift where there are no crowds. We ate dinner in about half th time and the condo was perfect for cooking, dining and relaxing afterward. When we finally fell into bed exhausted, we had a great night's sleep due to the new, wonderfully comfortable mattresses. And this comes from a bad sleeper with a bad back.

Debbie and Paul's condo is fantastic! It was spacious, clean, and very elegant and classy. Everyone was very impressed with the attention to details. Also, we love the close proximity to the bus stop and Cascade lift chair just 2 minutes down the road. No lines or anything and you are out of the condo and on the mountain. Debbie is outstanding. She is friendly, honest, and very responsive to any communication. I have already decided that her place will be an annual destination for me.

We had a very nice stay at Debbie and Paul's townhome. It was clean and nicely remodeled. The beds were really comfortable and the kids loved staying in the bunk room. We had everything we needed and when we could not locate the remote, Paul was nice enough to go buy another one for our convenience. The bus stop was extremely close and the Cascade lift a short shuttle ride away. It was a memorable family trip!

Wow! What a nice place. The neighborhood was beautiful and the bus route right outside the door was extremely convenient. We were able to sleep 11 guys comfortably. The loft upstairs was especially handy! You can tell some care was taken in remodeling this unit. The beds are extremely comfortable and the decor makes this place very relaxing. I would highly suggest this rental for your next vacation!

The Bareskin Lodge is the perfect place to stay for your next Vail trip. The property is in excellent condition and well supplied. The owners Debbie & Paul have gone that extra step and have just about thought of every concern or problem that may come up and have addressed it either beforehand with you or in one of there many creative guides/pamphlets at the property - this makes your stay that much easier and that much better. Everything is either right out your doorstep or very easily accessible. We have stayed at many privately owned properties in Vail and this one takes the cake!!

This condo gets a 10 out of 10 from us. It is very roomy, well kept, extremely clean and conveniently located. There is shopping ( Food, Liquor, Starbucks ) nearby, an easy shuttle ride to the Village and quick access in the main highway. We have stayed at places at various resorts ( Teluride, another Vail site , Whistler, Squaw Valley, Park City ) and this is among the best. The pictures don't do the condo justice and we fully endorse the unit. Keep up the Good Work !!

This is a great place to stay. We were there for 6 days the last week of July. Lionshead and Vail Village are very close and on the same side of 70. Safeway is very close. Very homey feel. The photos on this website do not do the place justice. It actually is much nicer in person. Very clean. Gore creek is accessible. We had four adults and three kids and were more than comfortable. Both master beds are awesome and nearly identical which makes it nice so that no one gets the better room. Kids room was great. Kitchen was well stocked with what you would need (e.g., pots, pans, utensils). We had to add an extra night at the last minute because another place we were going to stay was still under construction, but owner and service were very available and helpful in the matter. We will very likely try to stay here again.
